Craftsulove Design Team - October Card #3

Morning everyone 💜

Today I'm sharing the last of my October Craftulove Design Team cards with you using the beautiful stamp set from Julie Hickey called 'Garden Treasures'. I loved making this card, and it was so easy to create, so check out how what I did below. x

All the links to the specific Craftuslove products can be found below, and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
I have been asked by several crafters on Facebook if I would  create a tutorial on how I created the autumnal panel for my 5" x 7" card seen above, so here is it. Could I please point out that the tutorial pictures are not identical to the finished card above, as I photographed this tutorial after I made it.

1. First cut a strip of white card 2¼" x 7" and apply Mustard Seed distress ink as shown in the picture below.

2. Next apply Spiced Marmalade distress ink, see picture below.

3. Reapply Mustard Seed, then a little more Spiced Marmalade and blend together.

4. Then add Fired Brick distressing ink in random area over the top of the other inks, see below.

5. Start to blend the colours together. First reapply the Mustard Seed, then the Spiced Marmalade, and finally the Fired Brick. Keep repeating this process until you are happy with the result. Don't worry if it looks a bit splodgey, just keep going. This is how mine turned out, see below.

6. Using your fingers, flick water over the panel and leave for a minutes or two and blot with kitchen paper. To add finer flicks of water use either an old toothbrush, a paint brush or a splatter brush (I used a Tim Holtz one), and blot off again. Leave the panel to dry for a few minutes.

 7. Using a Nuvo Gold Midas pen flick the gold mica ink over the panel to add some shimmer, and leave to dry (this is optional).

8. Stamp the flowers and leaves in varying height using Versamark black ink (take care not to smudge it), and leave to dry.
9. Add Black Soot distress ink around the edges of the panel to frame it.

10. To make the flowers and leaves 'pop' add detail to them using a white pen.

11. Mount the finished panel onto a piece of black card.

12. Stamp the sentiment towards the bottom section of the card front, and add to the panel.

13. To complete the card add a few gems near to the sentiment.

Craftsulove Design Team - October Card #2

Morning everyone 💜
Today I'm sharing another of my October Craftulove Design Team card with you. For my card today I'm again using Julie Hickey's new stamp set called 'Garden Treasures' . The stamps are so pretty and stamp beautifully.

All the links to the specific Craftuslove products can be found below, and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
I trimmed down a piece of blue card to 5¾" x 5¾", a piece of white card to 5" x 5" then die cut a scalloped circle from blue card and a plain circle from white card.

I covered the front of the card blank with the blue card leaving a slim boarder around the edge. Next I stamped the fern leaves in blue and green ink randomly around the white piece of card, using 3rd generation stamping ---- meaning I stamped off twice onto a piece of scrap paper, then onto the white card to give a softer look.

I stamped the same ferns in blue and green ink around the circle, then stamped then again but this time with 2nd generation ink ---- meaning I stamped off once onto a piece of scrap paper, then onto the circle to give a softer look. I stamped the sentiment in black in.

I die cut a circle from a double sided adhesive sheet, then peeled off a small section of the backing paper and attached it to the circle, then carefully peeled off the front of the adhesive sheet and applied glitter over the top. After I burnished the glitter to rid it of any loose bits, I added it to the blue scalloped circle and adhered it to the card front using foam pads.

To complete the card I added 3 x 5mm pearls to the bottom of the card.

Crystal glitter was added to her wings and wand, then using a white pen highlights were given to her hat, shoes and cheeks. The completed topper was mounted onto a slightly larger red rounded corner square and attached to the card front.

To complete the card I fixed a die cut poinsettia and holly leaves to the top right corner of the topper along with a few gems.

Craftsulove Design Team - October Card #1

Morning everyone 💜

Today I'm sharing my October Craftulove Design Team card with you.

For my card today I've used one of Julie Hickey's new stamp set called 'Garden Treasures'. They're pretty stamps and stamp beautifully. In my card I have used both distressing ink and oxide to stamp with, and they work brilliantly. x

All the links to the specific Craftuslove products can be found below, and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
I cut a piece of pink card to 5" x 5" and added it to a 5¼" x 5¼" scalloped card blank. I then cut a piece of watercolour card to 4¼" x 4¼", and lightly sprinkled pixie powders over the card then spritz it with water. When the card was dry I stamped the sentiment and then the foliage using both distressing inks and oxides inks in shades of pink. To add a litter extra glimmer I  flicked a little gold ink from the Nuvo pen over the top.

I added the finished topper to a piece of gold mirror card 4½" 4½" and added it to the card front using foam pads. To finish the card I added a few gems and gold glitter dots around the card.

Hi there peeps ðŸ’œ

Wow, I can't believe it's week 3 at Whimsy Stamps, where is this year going....it's scary!  Dare I say the 'C' is not too far away.  Yikes! Anyhow back to sharing another fabulous image by my lovely talented friend Crissy Armstrong. This beautiful digi stamp is called Pretty Girl Happy Mail which I have teamed with a brand new sentiment (from a digi stamp set) and digi papers which inspired me to use aqua shades.

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
I printed 2 of the gorgeous digi papers onto smooth white paper and covered the front of a 6" x 6" card blank with the holly one. I die cut 2 scalloped border strips from aqua card and attached them to the back of a strip of the ombre star paper, which I cut to 3¾"; this was attached to the card front.

Using my graphics software I imported the beautiful girl image and resized her accordingly then printed her onto Neenah card. I coloured the images with Copic pens and die cut it into a circle when finished, then mounted it onto a scalloped circle cut from aqua card. Glitter was added to her hat, fur collar and glove cuffs. The finished topper was added to the card front using foam pads.

To complete my card I added a silver glittery star to the topper and a 3 dots punched from silver glitter card, and finally a complimentary bow.

Here's What I Used

Craftsulove Design Team - September Card and Tutorial

Morning everyone

I'm back with another card and tutorial for you using products available in the Craftsulove store and in their online store. For my tutorial today I'm using the wonderful 'Snowflake Wreath' die set from John Next Door, the gorgeous 'Winter Feelings' Christmas paper pad from Studiolight which I've absolutely fallen in love with, along with Kraft card, glitter and gems. To add extra dimension to my card I die cut several deer heads and wreaths which I then glued and stacked together, this creates a fabulous mount board effect without the expense. Why not try it on a few of your projects. :)

So onto what we are making today....I hope you like it x  You can find the product links below or click here for a direct link to the store.

You Will Need
(Products available from Craftsulove):
‘Winter Feelings’ Paper Pad by Studiolight
'Snowflake Wreath' by John Next Door

Silver Mirra Card

From My Own Stash:
7” x 7” Card Blank
Kraft Card
‘Vintage Photo’ Distressing Ink
Double Sided Tape
Glitter
Foam Pads
Gems

To Make The Card
1. Trim down a piece of Kraft card to 6½” x 6½” and ink around the edges with distressing ink.

2. Separate a sheet of the paper from the pad and add glitter to the snowflakes (as shown in the photo below). Adhere this to the centre of a piece of mirror card 6¼” x 6¼” leaving a border around the edge and then onto the Kraft card. Add them all to the front of a white card blank.

3. Using the snowflake wreath die set cut out a circle from white card, then add distressing ink and glitter around the edge.

4. Die cut 4 deer heads from Kraft card, then glue and stack 3 of the heads together. Add distressing ink to the edges of the remaining head and glue it on top of the stack.

5. Die cut 4 snowflake wreaths, then repeat the steps as above.

6. Glue the wreath and deer head to the centre of the circle.

7. Add the circle to the card front using plenty of foam pads.

TIP: You can use kid’s white funky foam as an alternative to foam pads, simply cut up large pieces and glue them into place.

8. To finish the card, add large and small gems to the centre of the snowflakes.

Craftsulove Design Team - September Card #2

Hi guys💙

I'm sharing an extra card with you today for the Craftsulove Design Team. I love this paper pad and stamp so much I just had to make another Christmas card. All the products are available in store and in the online store.

I used a Christmas stamp by Woodware, a patterned paper from a Studiolight paper pad (which has the most stunning papers inside), a banner die set and finally a gold shimmer pen from Tonic's Nuvo range (the links to the products can be found below).

HERE'S WHAT I DID
I stamped and heated embossed a 'seasons greeting' sentiment using gold embossing powder approximately 3/4 of the way down a sheet of the Winter patterned paper. I covered the front of a 6" x 6" white card blank with the paper. Next I die cut 3 banners in decreasing sizes from 2 different patterned papers from the pad, plus one from Kraft card. The banners were layered up and glued in place on the front of the card above the sentiment.

I stamped the poinsettia 4 times onto colouring cardstock, and coloured them up using Copic pens.

On the 1st image I fully colour the bottom leaf and around the edge of the top leaf using a green Copic pen, Then add brown Copic pen around the edges of the poinsettia again using the pen. Cut out the poinsettia and both leaves.

On the 2nd image I fully colour the top leaf with green Copic pen, and again add brown Copic pen around the edges of the poinsettia. Cut out the poinsettia and the leaf.

On the 3rd image I only coloured the poinsettia with brown Copic pen, and cut out.

On the 4th image I only coloured the small centre section of the poinsettia with brown Copic pen, and cut out.

I layered up the poinsettia and leaves pieces using foam pads, and added it to the left hand side of the banner. To complete the card I added gems to the centre of the flower and to the top and bottom of the card.

YOU WILL NEED

(Products available from Craftsulove):

Craftsulove Design Team - September Card #1

Morning everyone 💜

Today I'm sharing my September Craftulove Design Team card with you.

For my card today I'm using a beautiful wreath die set from John Next Door (which includes a patterned circle die, a snowflake wreath and 4 corner dies), a mini sentiment die from Creative Expressions along with another beautiful paper pad by Studiolight.

All the links to the specific Craftuslove products can be found below, and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
I trimmed down a piece of silver mirra card to 6½" 6½" and attached this to the front of scalloped card blank. Next I die cut the wreath into a sheet of the patterned paper so it left the outside edge, I kept the cut out wreath for use later on. Using the corner dies I cut out snowflake details in each corner. The paper was then adhered directly on top of the mirra card.

I die cut the snowflake wreath twice from white funky foam and glued them on top of each other, then added the snowflake wreath that was cut from the patterned paper. This was added to the front of the card inline with the die cut wreath shape. I repeated the same process for the sentiment and added this to the centre of the wreath.

To complete the card, I added gems in the centre of all the snowflakes.
