Craft Consortium - Leather Bound #2

Hi everyone

Did you catch the fabulous Craft Consortium show on Hobbymaker TV highlighting the stunning 'Leather Bound' collection, and the 'Vintage Emporium' paper pad with Helen Kirkham. The collection is ideal for all project types especially masculine ones, journaling and mixed media. It's so versatile!

Unfortunately the card I'm sharing today wasn't shown on the show, so I'm sharing here and on social media. To create it I used the papers from both the 'Leather Bound' & Vintage Emporium' pads to make a Spring/Easter card. Most of the elements were cut using my Silhouette cutting machine and a cutting file, with the addition of a few craft dies from my stash (see below). Everything was cut out and layered up to give a mini 3d effect ideal for popping in the post. I think the papers work brilliant, giving everything so much texture without the weight and bulk of the real thing.

This collection and other collections are available from the Craft Consortium's website and good craft retailer's websites. You can also go direct to the Craft Consortium's website here and sign up for an update on any future product launches.

This Is What I Did
I trimmed down a piece of paper from the 'Vintage Emporium paper pad to fit the front of a 5" x 7" white card blank. Next I cut out all the elements for the rabbit and box using the 'Leather Bound' paper pad. The eggs, greenery and flowers were cut out using coloured card, some using dies. Everything was layered up to create the scene. The sentiment was cut out 3 times (2 x brown card and1 x gold mirror card), glued together and added to the front of the box. To finish the card, I added natural adhesive pearls to the flowers along with a punched out butterfly.

Other Things I Used:
5” & 7” White Card Blank, Silhouette Cutting File (Artist-Your Magic Line), Silhouette Cutting Machine, Butterfly Punch, Ornate Frame Die Set (Hunkydory), Stitched Border Die (Lawn Fawn), Spring Foliage & Best Wishes Die Sets (Creative Expressions), Card - White, Pink, Brown, White, Lilac, Cream, Yellow, Red, Green, Glue

Craft Consortium - Leather Bound Collection #1

Hi everyone

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago I've re-joined the Craft Consortium Design Team, which I'm absolutely thrilled with. The company is a British family run business and they are a wonderful company to design for.  Craft Consortium's products are always extremely high quality and stunning to look at. Definitely check them out!

So for my first post I'm sharing 2 of my latest projects made using the wonderful stamps and papers from the newly launched 'Leather Bound' collection (see above). For my creations I teamed the collection up with a few papers from the 'Vintage Emporium' paper pad, mirror card and a few gold pearls. The collection will suit all types of project especially those difficult masculine ones, but for my cards today I decided to give them a feminine twist and add flowers to one and use a heart die and paper piece on the other. I think the colourway in the pad is perfect for those people who don't like pinks and blues etc. You can find the collection on the Craft Consortium online store (see the link below).

This collection and other collections are available from the Craft Consortium's website and good craft retailer's websites. In the USA, it will be distributed by Notions Marketing. You can also go direct to the Craft Consortium's website here and sign up for an update on any future product launches.
Card #1

Card #1
This Is What I Did (card #1)
I stamped coffee strains and water mats onto a piece of patterned paper from the Leather Bound 6" x 6" pad, then trimmied it to fit the front of a 6" x 6" card blank, I left a slim border around the edge.

Next I die cut a fancy frame 3 times - 3 x kraft card and 1 x pattern paper. The kraft card die cut frames were glued together. Using the journaling sentiments I stamped 'Family' with Versamark ink onto the paper frame, added gold embossing powder and melted it. The frame was then glued onto top of the kraft card frame, and added to the centre of the card front. Using a beautiful flower die set I cut out several flowers and leaves from papers in the pad, and arranged them around the left hand side of the card. To finish the card, I added gold adhesive pearls to complete the look.

Other Things I Used:
6” x 6” White Card Blank, Gold Glitter Card, 'Be Bold Blooms' Die Set (Spellbinders), Square Fancy Frame (Polkadoodles), Peeled Paint Distress Ink, Kraft Card, Versamark Ink, Gold Embossing Powder, Black Hybrid Ink, Double Sided Tape, Glue

Card #2

This Is What I Did (card #2)
I trimmed down a piece of patterned paper from the 'Leather Bound' pad to fit the front of a 6" x 6" scalloped card blank. I stamped 'Love Life' on the bottom of the paper with black ink, and punched out the corners. I splashed the area with watered down gold paint, when it was dry I glued it to the card front.

Next I die cut the heart design from white card (back) and it's accompanying floral cut out (front) and glued them both together. Using several of the papers from the 'Leather Bound' pad, the 'Vintage Emporium' pad and some gold mirror card, I die cut all the elements I needed and paper pieced them in place. To give more dimension I die cut 3 more 'backs' and glued them together to the back of the heart front, and adhered the whole thing to the card front. To finish the card, I added gold adhesive pearls to complete the look.

Other Things I Used:
6” x 6” White Scalloped Card Blank, 'Triple Step Blooming Heart' Die Set (Concord & 9th), Corner Rounder, White Card, Gold Acrylic Paint, Black Hybrid Ink, Double Sided Tape, Glue

Lili Of The Valley - June Card #1

Afternoon everyone

Wow, I can't believe it's June already...this year is going far too quickly for me.

Anyhoo, onto the first of my Lili Of The Valley card's for June and for my card today I have chosen one of the cute little rabbits, I just think LOTV make the sweetest images. The stamp I used is called 'Rabbit With Daisy' and I've coloured it using my Copic pens. I hope you like it. x

Oh, I need to remind you that Lili Of The Valley sadly no longer produce rubber stamps due to falling sales figures. The company now only produce digital stamps and Simply Prints (A4 sheets of pre-coloured images). I just love my digital stamps as they're fabulous and so versatile, they can be resized, flipped and rotated. If you need any help with digital stamps please just ask, simply leave me a message with your email address, and I will get back to you. Alternatively you can send me an email, my address shown on the right hand side.

For your information, here is the link to the LOTV Etsy Store to check out all the digi stampsand the LOTV online store to check out the rest of their goodies.

Here's What I Did
Using my graphics software I imported the cute bunnie digi stamp and my own sentiment, then resized and printed it directly onto colouring cardstock. The image was die cut it into a rectangle and coloured using Copic pens.

Two pieces of pretty patterned paper were trimmed down to fit the top portion of the 5" x 7" card blank, the bottom edges of each sheet were then die cut. One of piece of the patterned paper was then trimmed slightly shorter than the other, and attached over the top. Both pieces of the paper were added to the top of the rectangle. Funky foam was glued to the back of the rectangle and attached to the card front.

Two die cut flowers,  leaves and a button were added to the card front along with a printed out sentiment. To finish the card glitter was added to the centre of all the flower and the sentiment tag.

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp: Rabbit With Daisy'

Copics: Rabbit - E31, E33, E35, E37, E53, R20 / Flowers - BG10, BG11, BG23, V15, Y02, Y17 / Grass & Stem - YG03, YG17 / Clouds - B0000, B000 / Tag -BG23

Lili Of the Valley - Sneak Peak May Launch #1

Evening everyone ðŸ’›

I'm sharing a sneak preview of some of the new stamps that will be released on the 15th May, which brilliantly coincides with LOTV's 15th birthday. All the new stamps will be available in both digi and rubber format. I used the digi stamps on my card today. I have listed all the stamp names below, and I will provided the links after the 15th.

So for today's card I decided to go all summery and bright as it's been a bit gloomy here since I came back from my cruise. I just love working with yellow and orange as it's my 'happy' colour. I used Copics to colour. I hope you like it. x

For your information, here is the link to the LOTV online store and the LOTV Etsy Store to check out the rest of their goodies.

Here's What I Did
I covered the front of a 6" x 6" white card blank with a pretty patterned paper, leaving a slim border around the edge. Using my graphics software I inserted the flower garland 3 times and joined them all together, then added the mouse image and both the 'Sending You' and 'Hugs' sentiment. The digi images were all resized and arranged to create a scene and printed directly onto Neenah card and coloured with Copic pens. When finished, the scene was die cut into a square and mounted onto a die cut yellow scalloped square and added to the card front. I glued funky foam to the back of the topper before adding it to the card front to raise it up a slightly.

To complete the card I added glitter to the garland, daisy and butterfly and along with a few yellow gems in the bottom corner.

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamps
Mouse: Little Friends 'Mouse With Daisy'
Flower Garland & Sentiments: Little Friends 'Extras'

Rubber Stamps

Well guys, I'm away atm relaxing on a week's cruise around Scandinavia with my wonderful daughter. I'll share some lovely photos with you when I get back. But for the time being I have a lovely Christmas card for you using a really sweet Lili Of The Valley (LOTV) digi stamp called 'Robin Singing'. The digi stamp is available from the Etsy store as an instant download. I know I said the dreaded 'C' word, but I just love this stamp and really wanted to share it with you. I'm sure you can see why! I used Copics to colour with.

The gorgeous digi stamp was printed directly onto some colouring card stock and coloured with Copic pens. The image was then added to a bright pink mat and glued flat onto the card front. Glitter was added to the snow.

The 'Merry Christmas' sentiment was die cut 3 times, twice from white card and once from the bright pink card and glued together to give dimension. When dry the sentiment was added to the card front below the topper.

To complete the card I die cut and layered up a poinsettia cut from the same pink card, this was then added to the front using a foam pad.

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp:  'Robin Singing'.

Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Post - WK 4

Good day everyone 💜

I'm sharing one of my latest Whimsy Stamps Design Team cards with you. I decided to go all shabby chic with this pretty floral paper and sentiment. I used one of the papers from the 'Lilac Woods' digital paper collection which are absolutely gorgeous, and one of the digital sentiments from the 'Garden Sentiments' sheet (there's 12 sentiments in total on the sheet), plus some of my own  flower dies.

All the links to the Whimsy products can be seen below. I hope you like it.

Here's What I Did
I printed out the digital patterned paper and trimmed it to fit a purple card mat  5¼" x 5¼" (leaving a border around the edge), this was layered onto a lilac card mat 5½" 5½" and then attached to the front of a 6" x 6" card blank.

Using my graphics program I created a lilac heart shape and added the digital sentiment inside, this was then printed and cut out. Foam pads were added to the back of the heart and attached to the card front.

Die cut flowers and leaves were added to the top section of the heart using complimentary coloured card.  Pearls in varying sizes were glued into place to finish off the card.

Here's What I Used
Digital Paper: 'Lilac Woods'
Digital Sentiment: 'Garden Sentiments'

Other:
Lilac, Purple, Blue and Green Card, 6" x 6" Card Blank, Foam Pads, Graphics Program, Creative Expressions 'Camellia Complete Petal' Dies, The Works 'Leaves' Dies, Pearls

Crafter's Companion Inspiration Magazine #11 - Leafy Project

Good morning everyone :)

Hi there, welcome to another Crafter's Companion project using the freebies from Crafter's Inspiration Magazine Kit - Issue #11. This is a little extra make from me; basically I couldn't stop playing with the fab contents in the kit. I love autumn and all the wonderful colours it generates, so I decided to have another little play with the stamps, dies and embossing folder in the kit...and oh yes, my new Aquatint sets as well. Hope you like it. :)

A description of how I made it (be warned it's quite lengthy) and all the products used are shown just below the photos. :)

Here's What I Did
I create a 5" x 5½" top fold base from white card.

Background -
I used a mixture of glycerine and Aquatints - first I added a few drops of each of the aquatint colours onto my glass mat using the included pipelettes then I poured a little of the glycerine onto the mat as well. Next I dipped a piece of Cut & Dry foam pieces (I used one for each colour) into it so that it was damp but not saturated and then dabbed one end of my foam into one of the colours, and in small circlular movements I added colour to a section of the card. I repeated the process using different colours to different areas of the card, to help the blending process I used the other end of the pieces of foam. I continued to blend and add the tints until I was happy with the final result. When the card was still damp I sponged a little of the gold over the top in different places.

When all the paints were dry I stamped leaves all over the card using a brown ink, then randomly added stencil detail using black ink. When I was happy with everything I cut it down and added to the card front.

Flower -
I die cut lots of different leaves from copier paper (to save time you can fold your paper several times to create layers, and then die cut it). Next I stamped the leaf detail on to each of the cut out using a permanent ink, and then painted all the leaves using the same aquatint colours as the background including the gold. When all the leaves were almost dry I curled the edges and crinkled them up. To assemble the flower, I die cut a circle and glued the ends of the leaves to it in layers, offsetting them on each layer. I used the smaller leaves towards the centre. When it was complete, I added a large gem in the middle.

To finish off -
I embossed a strip of white card with the free vine embossing folder and attached it to the card front. To complete the card I added the flower, a couple of leaf flourishes and a few small pearls.

Here's What I Used
Crafter's Companion Products:
Crafter's Inspiration Magazine Issue #11 (Used: Stamps, Dies, Embossing Folder), Douglass White Stamping CardAquatints (Bright & Beautiful / Beautifully Grunge / Essentials), Sara's Signature Collection - English Country Garden 'Lazy Daisy' Die, Diamond Press 'Love Today' Stamp & Die Set

Crafter's Companion Design Team Card (1)

Heeeellllloooo everyone

Well I here to share my Crafter's Companion project with you - and for today's I decided to create a chocolate inspired card for you. I used the gorgeous papers from the Sara's Signature Collection 'Floral Delight' paper pad and a beautiful flower stamp from Sheena Douglass called 'Floral Fiesta' from the Day Of The dead range, which I made into a 3D flower.

All the products I used and how I created it are explained below all the photos. It was actually really simple to create, so why not have a go yourself. Why not try it in a different colourway - go on you know you want to. :)

Here's What I Did
Firstly I cut down 2 pieces of paper from the pad to fit my 5" x 5" white card blank, and edged them both with distressing ink. The papers were added to the card blank, with a white die cut border strip and a strip of brown card, slotted in between both.

The flower was stamped 3 times and heat embossed with white embossing powder, these were then cut out and then up each petal. The flowers were then glued together and added to the card from along with several die cut flowers.

To finish off I added a large gem to the flower, glitter to the top paper and a few pearls at the bottom.

Here's What I Used
Stamp: Sheena Douglass - Day Of the Dead 'Floral Fiesta'
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Sheena Douglass White Stamping Card, Sara's Signature Collection 'Floral Delight' Paper Pad
Dies: Sara's Signature Collection English Country Garden 'Lazy Daisy'
Other: Brown CS, White Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink, Pearls, Large Gem, Distressing Ink, glitter

Don't forget....if you want to see more Crafter's Companion creations made my lovely teamies why not join our Facebook page (just search for Crafter's Companion UK or Crafters' Companion Inspiration Magazine group), and we also have a Pinterest Board. so why not follow us.

I look forward to seeing you soon. Why not leave me a message so I know who's out there - I'd love to hear from you!!

Sweet Stampin' - Anything But A Card

Hello and good morning everyone ---

I've made my Sweet Stampin' Design Team project for you this week. Our theme is 'Anything But A Card' - and I have to admit to struggling with this one. Mind you it was mainly because I'm still getting over the effects  of the flu from last week. Anyhow, for my project I finally decided to make some flowers using my We R Memory Keepers Flower Punch Board which I've had for ages. But because we are a stamping challenge I stamped onto some of my card first before making my flowers to add a little interest.

Here's What I Did
I made the smallest (XXS) flowers possible on the We R Memory Keeper Flower Punch Board - these have a diameter of 3". For each of the cream flowers I cut a strip of cream cardstock to size and stamped each of them with a few different flower stamps and coloured them in with Prisma Pencils.  I punched out my cream flowers, assembled them and added them to the flower attachments and stalks. I then created a another 3 flowers from orange card stock.

To finish off  I added a touch of glitter to the cream flowers and I added enamel dots to all the centres.

Here's What I Used
Stamps: Hero Arts 'Dotted Flowers', Hunkydory 'Floral Chic'
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Cream CS, Orange CS
Prisma Pencils: Canary Yellow, Sunburst Yellow, Orange, Process Red, Limepeel
Other: We R Memory Keepers Flower Punch Board, Flower Accessory Pack, Glitter

Inky Chicks Challenge - Stitching (Real or Faux)

Good evening everyone!

I'm writing this on Easter Sunday and wow what a beautiful spring day it's been - sun shining, kids playing outside, birds chirping away. Just fabulous! Let's hope it's here to stay :)

Anyhow I'm here to share my last Inky Chicks Design Team card with you, as I've decided to step down from the Team. They are a lovely bunch of ladies and it's been an absolute pleasure working with them. Well talk about 'going out' in style - or maybe not!! Our theme this week is Stitching (Real or Faux) with a vintage feel.  Erm, as a rule I don't do vintage, I don't do real sewing (unless I'm repairing clothes) and I definitely don't do shabby chic - but I thought in for a 'penny in for pound' as they say. So I hope you like it because my blood, sweat and tears went into making it----lol, not really! But I do hope you like it anyway :)

Here's What I did
I used a 5" x 7" scalloped card base. I scuffed up the edges of some patterned paper (PP) with a distressing tool and added faux stitching along the edges with a Fineliner pen, and glued it onto my card base.

I then cut out a slight small piece of PP in a lighter shade and a fish tail banner from the peach PP. To add more texture I dragged out my sewing machine and physically stitched around the edges of both pieces, then distressed and tore the edges. I punched out a border strip from white card and taped it along the side of the lighter PP and glued both pieces onto the card base.

The swirls and all of the flowers were die cut and created by me, apart from the tiny cream ones. The large central flower was die cut from cream card and inked up to give it a peachy appearance, and a large pearl bead was glued into the centre. To finish off I added a lace ribbon and a few pearls around the flowers.

Here's everything I used:
Paper/Cardstock (CS): White, Cream, Green, Pink and Deep Pink CS, Lili Of The Valley (LOTV) 'Country Meadow' Paper Pad
Dies: Tim Holtz Sizzix 'Tattered Florals', Britannia 'Multi Rose', Cheery Lynn Designs 'Fanciful Flourish'
Other: Sewing Machine, Distressing Ink 'Tattered Rose', Black Fineliner, Pearls, Tonic Border Punch, Beads, Tiny Cream Flowers, Cream Lace, Wire, TH Distressing tool
