Craft Consortium - Faeries Lotus

 Hi There

Well, I’m finally sharing another of my cards using the Fairies stamps. I’m so sorry for the delay but I’ve been poorly, and I guess life just got in the way.  Anyhow, this card was made using the ‘Lotus’ stamp and some paper from one of the Ink Drop pads, which I coloured using Copic pens. (see links below)

This collection and other collections are available from the Craft Consortium's website and good craft retailer's websites. In the USA, it will be distributed by Notions Marketing. You can also go direct to the Craft Consortium's website here and sign up for an update on any future product launches.

This Is What I Did
I die cut down a piece of patterned paper from the Ink Drop paper pad to fit the front of a 5" x 7" white card blank. Next I stamped the lotus onto colouring card with black ink, and coloured it with Copic pens. I stamped the flower again onto masking paper and fussy cut them out. The masks were placed over the stamped flowers, and blue distress ink was applied over the top. Gold paint was splattered over the top.

When everything was dry it was die cut with an arched window die, then mounted onto a slightly larger shape cut from green mirror card. Funky foam was added to the back of the topper to give it dimension, and then mounted onto the card front. To finish the card, I added gold pen to the flowers and stamped a sentiment.

Craft Consortium - Faeries - Flower

 Hi there

Today I’m sharing another card for Craft Consortium using one of the stamp sets from the new 'Faeries' collection. The collection was made in association with Lavera Grace. As mentioned in my last post, the collection includes paper pads, stamps, and embellishments.

My card highlights the stamp called ‘Flower', which I used combined with some of the other stamps in the collection.. I used a bell jar stencil from my stash and I created whimiscal faerie scene.

This collection and other collections are available from the Craft Consortium's website and good craft retailer's websites. In the USA, it will be distributed by Scrapbooking.com (this is in the process of being set up). You can also go direct to the Craft Consortium's website here and sign up for an update on any future product launches.

This Is What I Did
I die cut a piece of patterned paper from the 'Organic' paper pad to cover the front of an A5 white card blank. Next I die cut a piece of watercolour card and added my bell jar aperture mask, With black waterproof ink I stamped the faerie into the centre of the jar, then stamped her again onto masking paper which I cut out. After covering the faerie with the mask and the bottom section, I added several colours of distress ink to create a pretty background, with the lighter area in the centre. Whilst the mask and stencil were in place I continued to stamp lots of flora in the background, and added colour using distress reinkers. I covered the top section of the jar and added shades of brown ink at the bottom to create a base.

When the background and base was dry I removed the faerie mask and coloured her using distress reinkers. Highlights and light orbs were added using white paint and a white pen. When everything was dry I carefully removed the jar aperture stencil, and lightly placed the jar stencil over the top of the coloured jar and added colour around the jar. The completed scene was mounted onto blue mirror card and then glued onto the centre of the card front.

To finish the card, I added glitter to the faeries wings, a few dew drops and 3 butterflies which were stamped, coloured and fussy cut out.

Distress Re-inkers & Ink Used - I used a huge collection of colours so email me for the list if you would like it.

Craft Consortium - Faeries - Crouch

 Hi there

Craft Consortium recently released a new collection called 'Faeries' in association with Lavera Grace. The collection includes paper pads, stamps, and embellishments. It was initially released on Hobbymaker TV, but it is now available on the Craft Consortium website.

The card I'm sharing today is showcasing the 'Crouch' stamp, which I used alongside with some of the flora and fauna stamps. Using a jar stencil from my stash I created sweet faerie scene.

In the USA, it will be distributed by Scrapbooking.com (this is in the process of being set up). You can also go direct to the Craft Consortium's website here and sign up for an update on any future product launches.

Craft Consortium - Leather Bound #3

Hi everyone

For my project today I'm sharing a tag I made using lots of elements and papers from Craft Consortium's 'Leather Bound' & 'Vintage Emporium' pads, stamps and embellishments. I must admit I don't often create mixed media projects, so I was a little out of my comfort zone when I made this....but I did enjoy the freedom. The tag was featured on Hobbymaker TV, and I got a lovely shout out from the presenter Hayley West which was wonderful.

The papers and stamps worked brilliant on the tag, giving it lots of much texture without the added weight and bulk of the real thing. I did start out with a pared down version of this, but then decided to add gems and glitter. I have included both version. I hope you like them. :)

This collection and other collections are available from the Craft Consortium's website and good craft retailer's websites. You can also go direct to the Craft Consortium's website here and sign up for an update on any future product launches.
On TV

Version 1

Version 2

This Is What I Did
I covered the tag with paper 'Leather Bound' collection then stamped stains and texture over the top. Ink was applied around the edges along with some gold wax. Postcards were cut out of the 'Vintage Emporium' pad and glued onto across the tag. I die cut a doily with paper from the LB pad, inked it up, cut it in half and glued it onto the tag.

An ornate frame was die cut several times from kraft card and once from patterned paper; they were glued together. Part of the frame was added to the tag, the rest was cut off. A die cut paper flower was created using papers from the LB pad, an embellishment was glued in the centre and gold wax was applied all over it. I stamped out a sentiment, inked it up and added it to the top.

I continued to die cut leaves and embellishments using papers from both pads and glued them onto the tag. Punched out butterflies, gold glitter hearts, clock, wooden hearts and gold pearls were also added to the tag. This where I stopped on the first version of the tag.

On the second version I added gold coloured gems and lots of gold multi glitter. Which version do you like?

Other Things I Used:
MDF Tag, Kraft Card, Clock, Resin Flower, MDF Stars, Gold Gilding Wax, Butterfly Punch & Die, Botanicals & Lazy Daisy Die (Crafters Companion), Cosmos Flower & Lace Doily Die (Creative Expressions), Celebration Die Set (Katy Sue Designs), Heart Stencil (Marianne Designs), Tea Dye & Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Gold Glitter Card, Gems, Glitter, Black Ink, Glue

Craft Consortium - Leather Bound #2

Hi everyone

Did you catch the fabulous Craft Consortium show on Hobbymaker TV highlighting the stunning 'Leather Bound' collection, and the 'Vintage Emporium' paper pad with Helen Kirkham. The collection is ideal for all project types especially masculine ones, journaling and mixed media. It's so versatile!

Unfortunately the card I'm sharing today wasn't shown on the show, so I'm sharing here and on social media. To create it I used the papers from both the 'Leather Bound' & Vintage Emporium' pads to make a Spring/Easter card. Most of the elements were cut using my Silhouette cutting machine and a cutting file, with the addition of a few craft dies from my stash (see below). Everything was cut out and layered up to give a mini 3d effect ideal for popping in the post. I think the papers work brilliant, giving everything so much texture without the weight and bulk of the real thing.

This collection and other collections are available from the Craft Consortium's website and good craft retailer's websites. You can also go direct to the Craft Consortium's website here and sign up for an update on any future product launches.

This Is What I Did
I trimmed down a piece of paper from the 'Vintage Emporium paper pad to fit the front of a 5" x 7" white card blank. Next I cut out all the elements for the rabbit and box using the 'Leather Bound' paper pad. The eggs, greenery and flowers were cut out using coloured card, some using dies. Everything was layered up to create the scene. The sentiment was cut out 3 times (2 x brown card and1 x gold mirror card), glued together and added to the front of the box. To finish the card, I added natural adhesive pearls to the flowers along with a punched out butterfly.

Other Things I Used:
5” & 7” White Card Blank, Silhouette Cutting File (Artist-Your Magic Line), Silhouette Cutting Machine, Butterfly Punch, Ornate Frame Die Set (Hunkydory), Stitched Border Die (Lawn Fawn), Spring Foliage & Best Wishes Die Sets (Creative Expressions), Card - White, Pink, Brown, White, Lilac, Cream, Yellow, Red, Green, Glue

Alternatively leave your request and your email address in the comment box. I die cut a sentiment and heart from white card  (3 times) and once from pink paper, they were glued together and added to the card front. Glitter was added to some of the flowers and the heart. To finish the card, I added a few pink dew drops around the sentiment.

Craft Consortium - Leather Bound Collection #1

Hi everyone

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago I've re-joined the Craft Consortium Design Team, which I'm absolutely thrilled with. The company is a British family run business and they are a wonderful company to design for.  Craft Consortium's products are always extremely high quality and stunning to look at. Definitely check them out!

So for my first post I'm sharing 2 of my latest projects made using the wonderful stamps and papers from the newly launched 'Leather Bound' collection (see above). For my creations I teamed the collection up with a few papers from the 'Vintage Emporium' paper pad, mirror card and a few gold pearls. The collection will suit all types of project especially those difficult masculine ones, but for my cards today I decided to give them a feminine twist and add flowers to one and use a heart die and paper piece on the other. I think the colourway in the pad is perfect for those people who don't like pinks and blues etc. You can find the collection on the Craft Consortium online store (see the link below).

This collection and other collections are available from the Craft Consortium's website and good craft retailer's websites. In the USA, it will be distributed by Notions Marketing. You can also go direct to the Craft Consortium's website here and sign up for an update on any future product launches.

This Is What I Did (card #1)
I stamped coffee strains and water mats onto a piece of patterned paper from the Leather Bound 6" x 6" pad, then trimmied it to fit the front of a 6" x 6" card blank, I left a slim border around the edge.

Next I die cut a fancy frame 3 times - 3 x kraft card and 1 x pattern paper. The kraft card die cut frames were glued together. Using the journaling sentiments I stamped 'Family' with Versamark ink onto the paper frame, added gold embossing powder and melted it. The frame was then glued onto top of the kraft card frame, and added to the centre of the card front. Using a beautiful flower die set I cut out several flowers and leaves from papers in the pad, and arranged them around the left hand side of the card. To finish the card, I added gold adhesive pearls to complete the look.

Other Things I Used:
6” x 6” White Card Blank, Gold Glitter Card, 'Be Bold Blooms' Die Set (Spellbinders), Square Fancy Frame (Polkadoodles), Peeled Paint Distress Ink, Kraft Card, Versamark Ink, Gold Embossing Powder, Black Hybrid Ink, Double Sided Tape, Glue

This Is What I Did (card #2)
I trimmed down a piece of patterned paper from the 'Leather Bound' pad to fit the front of a 6" x 6" scalloped card blank. I stamped 'Love Life' on the bottom of the paper with black ink, and punched out the corners. I splashed the area with watered down gold paint, when it was dry I glued it to the card front.

Next I die cut the heart design from white card (back) and it's accompanying floral cut out (front) and glued them both together. Using several of the papers from the 'Leather Bound' pad, the 'Vintage Emporium' pad and some gold mirror card, I die cut all the elements I needed and paper pieced them in place. To give more dimension I die cut 3 more 'backs' and glued them together to the back of the heart front, and adhered the whole thing to the card front. To finish the card, I added gold adhesive pearls to complete the look.

Other Things I Used:
6” x 6” White Scalloped Card Blank, 'Triple Step Blooming Heart' Die Set (Concord & 9th), Corner Rounder, White Card, Gold Acrylic Paint, Black Hybrid Ink, Double Sided Tape, Glue

Craft Consortium - Candy Christmas

Hi everyone

Well today I'm doing a little Guest Designing for Craft Consortium. Yay! I offered to colour up some of the stamps from the 'Candy Christmas' collection that's just launched. The collection was created in partnership with the super talented Helz Cupperditch. Helz is the wonderful talent behind the 'Snomes', 'Sandy Paws', 'Polar Playtime' collections. The collection is full of cute gingerbread people and their houses plus a few snow peeps thrown in. There are also complementary paper pads, 3D decoupage sets, chipboard ephemera and much more....see the link below.

I've made 2 cards using the 'Candy' stamp set and coloured them up using Distress Re-inkers and pads. I've written up how I did each one and all the products I used. I have another stamp set to share with but I'm off on my hollibobs soon so I will share my creations when I return. :)

This collection and other collections are available from the Craft Consortium's website and good craft retailer's websites. In the USA, it will be distributed by Notions Marketing. You can also go direct to the Craft Consortium's website here and sign up for an update on any future product launches.

I trimmed down a piece of lovely green Christmas paper and attached it to the front of a 6" x 6" white card blank leaving a slim border around the edge. I die cut a large snowflake frame from white card and glued it flat into the centre of the card front.

I stamped the polar/gingerbread man onto the watercolour card in grey ink, then stamped it again onto masking paper which I cut out. I masked the polar bear/gingerbread man and stamped the middle tree.  I stamped the tree again on masking paper and cut it out them masked the tree, then stamped the other 2 trees either side. With a pencil I drew a couple of snow lines to complete the scene and removed the masks.

The scene was coloured using distress re-inkers and pads, then die cut into a circle and matted onto a green scalloped circle. Glitter was added to the trees and snow line, then the finished topper was glued flat on top of the snowflake. To finish the card, die cut stars were placed in the sky, and a few enamel dots added to the bottom.

Card 2
What I Did
I trimmed down a piece of vibrant red Christmas paper and attached it to the front of a 6" x 6" white card blank leaving a slim border around the edge.

Next I stamped the snow-body onto the watercolour card in grey ink first, then stamped it again onto masking paper which I cut out. I masked the snow-body and then stamped the house over it. I stamped the house again on masking paper, and then cut this out and again placed it over the house on the card. I stamped the tree over the top of the house on the left hand side. With a pencil I drew a snow lines to complete the scene. I left the masks in place and painted around everything to create a sky, when it was dry I removed the masks.

The scene was coloured using distress re-inkers and pads, then die cut into a square. To add a little extra detail I added part of a snowflake, bunting and a pearl in the top right corner, and a mini sentiment in the bottom right. The finished topper was glued flat in the centre of the card.  To finish the card, glitter was added to the trees, snow line and parts of the house.
