Sugar Nellie - I Found My Family In a Book

- Hello Sugar Fans -

Good morning everyone!
So for my Design Team card this bright Wednesday I decided to use one of the gorgeous Gorjuss girl stamps again - I know, I know but I'd already had her coloured up and I had to share her with you, plus she's a little beauty. The stamp is called 'I Found My Family In A Book' and she's available both as a large stamp as well as a mini.  I used distressing ink pads and pens on watercolour card with a splash of glitter. Erm, do you like my attempts at creating little paper dolls as embellies. Lol
This stamp and lots of others are available to buy from Funkykits.

http://www.funkykits.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=91_148

Here's What I Did
Firstly I matted a 5" x 5" card base with some beautiful green patterned paper. The image was stamped directly onto some watercolour card and die cut it into a rectangle. I coloured the image in with distressing ink pads and pens making sure I kept the colours nice and delicate.

The completed image was then mounted onto a blue mat and a green die cut frame which I added to the card base using foam tape. To finish off I added glitter and a few pearls; to add a little interest I cut out 2 paper dolls from cream card and edged them with a little distressing ink.
Here's What I Used
Stamp: 'I Found My Family In A Book' - Large and mini stamp is available from Sugar Nellie at Funkykits - Large can be found here and the mini stamp can be found here

Sugar Nellie - 'You Brought Me Love'

- Hello Sugar Fans -

Good morning everyone!
So for my Design Team card this cold Wednesday I decided to use one of the gorgeous Gorjuss girl stamps again (because I love them lol); this one is called 'You Brought Me Love' and she's available as a mini stamp. These stamps are so versatile, because you can really pretty them up or make them look vintage and shabby. So for my card I decided I wanted her to have a shabby chic looking or maybe it's more gothy....mmm, you decide. To achieve the look I used distressing ink pads and pens on watercolour card.
This stamp and lots of other Gorjuss stamps are available to buy from Funkykits.

http://www.funkykits.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=91_148

Here's What I Did
Firstly I matted a shaped card base with black card stock and beautiful patterned paper. The image was stamped directly onto some watercolour card and die cut it into a circle.  Next I created my background, and I purposely made it blotchy by leaving pools of water on the surface of the paper, this produced a watermark effect. I coloured the main image in with a selection of distressing ink pads and pens keeping to a vintage colour palette.

The completed image was then mounted onto a die cut black circle, and added to the card base using foam tape. To finish off I added a few punched out butterflies.
Here's What I Used
Stamp: 'You Brought Me Love' available from Sugar Nellie at Funkykits
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Craftwork Cards Shaped Card Base, Black CS, Watercolour CS, Trimcraft 'Pursuit Of Happiness' Paper Pad
Distressing Inks/Pens: Skin: Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick / Hair - Scattered Straw, Pumice Stone, Black / Dress, Bows & Tights - S[pun Sugar, Victorian Velvet / Petticoat & Tights - Antique Linen, Vintage Photo / Background - Old Paper, Forest Moss
Dies: Tattered Lace 'Pearl' Circle, Crealies 'XXL Stitched Circle', Go Kreate 'Frilly #10'
Other: Butterfly Punch, White Pen

Sugar Nellie - Gorjuss Girl

Good morning sugar fans!

Wow, another Wednesday is here - it's it just me or are the days whizzing by? One good thing is that spring is seems to have finally sprung --- yay!! Now as I walked home from work I can hear the birds going crazy singing to each other. It's so fabulous to listen to, that it made my heart happy!

Anyhow, onto my Sugar Nellie Design Team card for you today, I thought I would give a Gorjuss girl stamp an airing she's called 'I Give you My Heart', along with one of my fav colour combos.  Funkykits (the home of Sugar Nellie) have a great collection of Gorjuss Girl stamps, there's so many to choose from. Many of the stamps are no longer produced and once they are gone, they're gone. So grab yours while you still can!!

Here's What I Did
I started with a 5" x 5" white card base which I matted with green cardstock and covered with LOTV patterned paper. I stamped my Gorjuss girl and her book onto watercolour card then using Distressing Ink pens I coloured them both in and cut them out. I die cut a green frame which I added to my card with foam tape. The girl, book and die cut 'happy' and hearts were added both inside and outside of the frame. To finish off I added a few sequins and some white dots to her cheeks and book.
Here's What I Used

Stamp:  'I Gave You My Heart' Gorjuss Girl Stamp available from Funkykits,
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Green & Blue CS, Lili Of the Valley (LOTV) 'Shabby Shack' Paper Pad

Sugar Nellie - Picket Post Lane

- Hello Sugar Fans -

Well hello and good morning to you all. It's Thursday and it's Sugar Nellie time!
I thought for this week I'd use another one of our new 'Furry Friends' digi stamp because I just think they're soooo cute.  This beautiful stamp is called 'Picket Post Lane' and it's available from Funkykits in digital format.

Here's What I Did
I really just wanted to play with this gorgeous digi stamp. So I decided to print out a large copy of it onto watercolour card, and colour it with distressing pens and inks.  I decided to frame it for my daughter's bedroom - so I bought a 8" x 10" inexpensive frame from a local discount store. I did cut out my own mount to go inside the frame using white cardstock and my Silhouette, but if you wanted to create something similar you can buy pre-cut mounts quite cheaply. I used a few pencils to added more depth to the picture. To finish off I added a little glitter to the parcels and envelope.

This was such a simple project to do and the image looks great in a frame, as will all the Sugar Nellie stamps.
Here's What I Used
Stamp: 'Picket Post Lane' available Sugar Nellie at Funkykits
Paper/Cardstock (CS): White CS, Watercolour CS
Distressing Ink & Pens - Bear's Fur, Bird, Ground - Tea Dye, Vintage Photo / Cheeks - Worn Lipstick / Sky - Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans / Fence - Peeled Paint / Grass - Forest Moss, Pine Needles / Parcels & Envelope - Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar / Birdhouse - Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed / Stones - Pumice Stone
Other: Frame, Glitter, Silhouette Machine, Kanban Stamp, Pencils

SUGAR NELLIE -- Scrapberry's 'Our Summer'

Good Morning Sugar Peeps!

Wow, I can't believe it - another week has gone by and we're in July already. OMG where has this year gone, but the upside is that my cruising holiday to Alaska is getting closer. Yey!! Anyway back to reality :)
Anyhoo, it's Thursday and my turn to share my Sugar Nellie DT card with you.  This week's card is another one made using the Scrapberry stamps available from Funkykits -  this sweetie is called 'Our Summer'.

Here's What I Did
This week I decided to use my distressing inks and pens to colour this pretty stamp, and I think they compliment her beautifully. I wanted a CAS look to my card so I kept my embellishments to a minimum. To create my 6" x 6" card I matted and layered up some pretty LOTV papers. The lilac square was die cut using a MFT die, and on top of this I added my completed image with the corners punched out.  The 'friends' text was also die cut and glued to the back of my image - both were added to the square mat. to finish off I added dots using my pearl wand plus a touch of glitter to my lettering. The paw print badge was cut out using my Silhouette Cameo.
Here's What I Used
Stamp: Scrapberry's 'Our Summer' available from Funkykits
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Papermania CS, Crafters Companion Watercolour CS, Lilli Of The Valley (LOTV) 'Promises' and 'Bonnets & Bowties' Paper Pads
Distressing Pens & Inks: Various
Dies: Die-namics MFT Blueprint '3'
Other: Glitter, Silhouette Cameo Machine, Xcut Corner Punch, Black Fineliner, Pearl Wand

Sweet Stampin' - Summer Fun Challenge

Hellooooo, well it's that time of the month again ---- it's Sweet Stampin' time.  This week it's all about Summer Fun --- well the sun is actually shining here in the UK. ;)

So to get you in the mood here's my DT card.

Here's What I did
5" x 5" cream card base with a mat of patterned paper and then a cream and coloured cs mat.  The stamped image is from an old Penny Black stamp that I've had for years - I think it was one of my first ever rubber stamps I bought and it was quite expensive at the time. I coloured the whole image using Tim Holtz distressing pens and inks, and then stamped and coloured the daisy head again which I layered on top using foam tape.  To finish off I added a little glitter to the flower head and added some die cut clouds.

Here's everything I used:
Rubber Stamp:  Penny Black 'Lazy Days'
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Papermania CS, White CS, My Minds Eye 'Tangerine'
Distressing Inks & Pens: Various
Dies: Joy! 'Clouds'
Other: £1 Shop Embellishment, Glitter

So why not drop by the Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog and check out what my fab Design Team girlies have made to inspire you. So come on why not join in with the fun and enter your card/project into our Summer Fun challenge we'd love to see you. REMEMBER you must include a stamped element on your card!

Sugar Bowl 116 - Anything Goes

Well can you believe it, this is going to be our last challenge over at the Sugar Bowl for the foreseeable future.  Luckily for me I'll still be involved with Sugar Nellie on the Design Team so I still get to work with these gorgeous stamps and my sugar teamies.  But it's definitely a case of  'watch this space' when it comes to Sugar Nellie there's new things happening soon - so keep an eye on our blog.

Anyhoo, back The Sugar Bowl for our final challenge the theme is Anything Goes. So grab your Sugar Nellie stamp and get going.

Just a little reminder that Funkykits are having a sale on at the moment with 20% off digital and rubber stamps but it finishes soon - so go bgrab yourself a bargain.

So here it is my last Sugar Bowl card and I apologise in advance but it's a Christmas card. I know, I know *slap my wrist* I said the dreaded  'C' word, but I really love this digital stamp and I wanted to use her in a project again.

Here's What I Did
The 7" x 7"card base was matted with green card stock, and my digital stamp was printed onto watercolour card using the card/printer feed technique which I've used before with success. This technique allows me to print directly onto awkward card stock as my printer does not like feeding anything into it that has any kind of thickness which can be annoying. I water coloured the background with swirls and flicks in the same colour palette that I watercolour the fairy with (I'm not sure if I've gone a little over the top --- what do you think?) This was then matted onto some red card and then onto the green. To finish I added a little H20 paint, glitter, and added a few die cut embellishments.

Here's everything I used:
Digi Stamp:  'Wings Of Love' Sugar Nellie rubber stamp from Funkykits
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Watercolour Card, Green and Red Papermania CS, Pink Glitter CS
Distressing Ink Pens: Skin - Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar, Tea Dye / Hair, Birds & Basket - Scattered Straw, Tea Dye, Walnut Stain / Skirt, Hat & Shoes - Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss / Jacket & Flowers - Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Barn Door, Victorian Velvet / Bells - Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade / Ground - Faded Jean, worn Lipstick
Dies: Cuttlebug Cut & Emboss 'Snowflake'
Other: Glitter, H20 Paints

So don't forget to drop by at The Sugar Bowl and have a look at what the rest of my fabulous DT sweeties have created to inspire you; and why not join in with this month's challenge while you're there. It's open to everyone, and the theme is Anything Goes so come on give it a go.

There's a fantastic prize - a bundle of Sugar Nellie stamps eg Leanne Ellis, Simply Sassy, Gorjuss etc plus papers and embellishments (wow wish I could enter lol),  and a chance of being in our Top 3 (but don't forget you have use a Sugar Nellie stamp to enter).

Have fun.

Totally Gorjuss Challenge - 220 - Furtastic

Hi there, well here I am again with this week's DT card for Totally Gorjuss The theme this week is ANYTHING GOES -  FURTASTIC.  So think furry things, hairy things, pets and so on.

Really easy CAS card this week but fun to make.  I die cut a brown scallop square, a plain square in gingham paper (did I hear you say yee haw!!) and another using the 'friend' word die. Can I say I love, love, love these Die-namic Blueprint dies, they're so useful.  Anyway back to business......I stamped my little doggie onto water colour card and coloured him using my distressing ink pens. This is a really old wooden block stamp that I've had for years - but I love him he's so cute. To add a little dimension I stamped his nose and mouth twice, coloured, then cut out them out and layered them up.  Pencils were used to give a little more depth to his face and body. Everything was added to the card base and to finish off I added a little glossy accent to his nose and dog tag.

Here's what I used.
Stamps: Whipper Snapper 'Good New Puppy', Personal Impressions 'Paw Prints'
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Kraft CS, Papermania Brown CS, Gingham Paper (Magazine freebie)
Distressing Ink Pens: Wild honey, Spiced Marmalade, Pumice Stone, Black Soot, Antique Linen, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Barn Door, Fired Brick
Other: Prisma Pencils, Lyra Polycolour Pencils, Derwent Coloursoft Pencils, Glossy Accents, Pan Pastel - Turquoise Tint.

Hi there, well here I am again with this week's DT card for Totally Gorjuss.  The theme this week is a pretty one, it's ANYTHING GOES -  PEARLS AND/OR LACE

The fab to use and cut like a dream.  All the components were layered up and added to my card front.  I stamped my Gorjuss girl onto watercolour card and used my TM Distressing pens to colour her in.  To add a little extra definition I used my Prisma pencils.  To finish her off I used a little crystal glitter on her ribbons and some liquid pearls on her dress..
