Totally Gorjuss - My Last DT Card

Well this is my last post for Totally Gorjuss as I've decided to step down from the Design Team. My last post for them is very apt - the theme this week is ANYTHING GOES - HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

It's apt because the card I made was for a lovely lady who turned 90 last week. Unfortunately a few days later she passed away and will be sadly missed. I decided to use this card as a lovely way to remember her, she was a sweet and lovely lady who endured such pain for many years. RIP Ann.

Here's What I Did -
Everything was created digitally using Serif's CraftArtist 2 and a digi kit. I created the sentiment and layout to fit onto my 8 x 8 base. Everything was printed off 3 times and then cut out and layered up. To finish it off I added glitter and created AN insert.

Here's What I Used -
Digi Kit: Daisytrail 'Hearts Designs - Hearts & Roses'
Cardstock: Cream, Lilac
Other: Serif CraftArtist 2, Glitter

So why not come along and visit our blog at Totally Gorjuss and check out what my lovely team buddies have made to inspire you. While you're there don't forget to enter your card/project into our weekly challenge - remember it's HAPPY BIRTHDAY. There's a prize up for grabs and this week's sponsors is The Ribbon Girl.

I can't wait to visit you and see what you make for one last time.

Totally Gorjuss - Lovey Dovey - 223

Love is in the air - and I'm all lovey dovey!!

So with that in mind here's my DT card for this week's challenge over at Totally Gorjuss,.The theme this week is LOVEY DOVEY (obviously).  The is actually my hubbie's Valentine's card - he loved it.

Here's What I Did -
The cream card base is an 8 x 8. The red background card was distressed with scissors and distressing ink, this is not my normal style but I thought I'd give it a go.  I cut a piece of Kraft paper into a large banner and partially rolled the end (this was originally the liner paper rolled inside my Xmas paper - I keep everything lol). I threaded some Bakers Twine down the centre and tied it in a knot with a die cut heart button to secure it.  I tore and distressed the edges and added some distressing inks to age it.  The cute cupid was printed out 4 times, coloured with Copics, cut out and layered up. I die cut the letters and hearts which were attached to the card base along with some Candi.  My cute cupid was such a dream to colour in, but a nightmare to cut out....especially his arms and legs. But it was definitely worth it.

Here's What I Used -
Digi: Make it Crafty 'Whoopsie Cupid'
Cardstock: Cream CS, Red CS, Paper Pad (Can't remember the name - sorry!), Kraft Paper
Copics: Skin - E0000, E000, E00, E11, E13, R30, R20 / Hair/Undies/Quiver - R32, R35, R37, R46, R59 / Bow Shaft - E33, E35, E57 / Wings - BG000, BG01, BG05, BG09

OMG, I seem to be following a trend of easy peasy lately. Mind you it's great if you want to make a really cheap card. The sentiment layer of this card was designed in CraftArtist 2, printed out and cut down to size.  I then randomly die cut tiny hearts into it.  This was then layered up onto lilac card using foam tape. Tada done!!
Here's what I used.
Cardstock: White, Lilac
Dies: MFT Die-namics Blueprints 3, Tonic Square Layering Die

Totally Gorjuss Challenge - 220 - Furtastic

Hi there, well here I am again with this week's DT card for Totally Gorjuss The theme this week is ANYTHING GOES -  FURTASTIC.  So think furry things, hairy things, pets and so on.

Really easy CAS card this week but fun to make.  I die cut a brown scallop square, a plain square in gingham paper (did I hear you say yee haw!!) and another using the 'friend' word die. Can I say I love, love, love these Die-namic Blueprint dies, they're so useful.  Anyway back to business......I stamped my little doggie onto water colour card and coloured him using my distressing ink pens. This is a really old wooden block stamp that I've had for years - but I love him he's so cute. To add a little dimension I stamped his nose and mouth twice, coloured, then cut out them out and layered them up.  Pencils were used to give a little more depth to his face and body. Everything was added to the card base and to finish off I added a little glossy accent to his nose and dog tag.

Here's what I used.
Stamps: Whipper Snapper 'Good New Puppy', Personal Impressions 'Paw Prints'
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Kraft CS, Papermania Brown CS, Gingham Paper (Magazine freebie)

Totally Gorjuss - 219 -Pearls and/or Lace

Hi there, well here I am again with this week's DT card for Totally Gorjuss.  The theme this week is a pretty one, it's ANYTHING GOES -  PEARLS AND/OR LACE

I used a 5 x 5 card base and covered it in a lace patterned paper. The flower, arch (with the Gorjuss girl inside), bow, hearts and scallop edging are all from the Die-namics Blueprint sets 3 and 8. The fab to use and cut like a dream.  All the components were layered up and added to my card front.  I stamped my Gorjuss girl onto watercolour card and used my TM Distressing pens to colour her in.  To add a little extra definition I used my Prisma pencils.  To finish her off I used a little crystal glitter on her ribbons and some liquid pearls on her dress..

Here's what I used.
Stamps: Gorjuss Girl 'x'
Paper/Card: Craftwork Paper 'Paper Floristry - Sherbet', Pink CS,
Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Pens: Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Scattered Straw, Vintage Photo, Tea Dye, Wild Honey

Totally Gorjuss Challenge 218 - Manly

Hi there, well here I am again with this week'd DT card for Totally Gorjuss The theme this week is a bit more challenging it's ANYTHING GOES -  MANLY.  I know, I know....we all struggle with any kind of card for the men or man in our lives, and I'm no exception.  When I saw the theme I gave a huge sign of relieve as I'd only recently made this card for my hubbie's 50th birthday.  He loved it!  I was originally inspired by a card I saw by Jen Nelson here.  The actual concept is a really easy one, but I think it's the additional of colour that gives it a bit of umph.

The card is an 8 x 8 and with the red and blue mats it's probably reduced to a 7 x 7" card. The base layout was created in CraftArtist2 so I could lay out the square evenly. I created squiggly line boxes to give an informal look and inserted the Bugaboo digi images inside each one, and then typed in the tag line and printed it off.
The same digi images were then printed out 2/3 times and then coloured with Copics. The coloured pieces were then cut out and layered up as I wanted to give it a 3D feel. The whole thing worked out much better than I anticipated, and I have to admit cutting out some of the element was really fiddly and took me ages. I decided matted and layer up the centre square as that was the main sentiment. Overall the card was a bit pricey....but hey it's personal to my DH and he's worth it.
Here's what I used.
Digi Stamps: Bugaboo Stamps
Paper/Card: White Neenah, Blue and Red CS
Copics: E000, E00, E11, E35, B0000, B00, B02, Y15, R17, R17, R30, R45, R59
Other: CraftArtist2, Pinflair Glue Gel

Happy New Year to you all - wishing you all the
crafty best for 2014.

Well here's new DT card for the first challenge of the year for Totally Gorjuss. The theme for this week is ANYTHING GOES - RIBBON

So to get you in the mood here's a gorgeous girl I've created for you, isn't she beautiful. She was such a dream to colour in - her name is Isabella. To give her some dimension I stamped her out 4 times, coloured in certain sections with my Copics. The coloured sections were cut out and layered up onto a diecut oval, and added to my base card of punched card, lace and ribbon.

Here's everything I used:
Stamp: Isabella by 'Krista Smith - Saturated Canary' from Funkykits
Cardstock: 8 x 8 white card base, First Edition 'Love Letter's

Totally Gorjuss Challenge - New

Well here's the last challenge for 2014 from Totally Gorjuss The theme this week is ANYTHING GOES - NEW So to give you a little inspiration here's my DT card. I decided my card would represent 'A Brand NEW Day'

This was a relatively simple card. The base card and the sky were made by using 4 Pan Pastels colours.  I created the background hills using some torn paper and some Black 'Soot' Distressing Ink. To finished my scene I stamped foliage on top of the finished background with the 'Soot' DI.  Finally I used a black fineliner pen on top of the stamped images to give more definition.  I did add a sentiment but I removed it because it just didn't look right.

Here's what I used.
Stamps: Inkylicious  - 'Moonlight Foliage', 'Summer Morn', 'Spring Awaking' and Cart-Us 'Birds On A Branch'
Paper/Card: White, Black and Red CS
Pan Pastels: Permanent Red, Permanent Red Tint, Orange, Diarylide Yellow
Other: Torn Paper, Splodge Away Mat, Black 'Soot' Distressing Ink

I attached my border piece to the cranberry coloured card, then wrapped some bakers twine around it and added some sleigh bells.  To finish I added some glitter to my topper (isn't he cute!) and stuck it to my card front.  Tada done!! All in all it took me 15/20 minutes to make.

Totally Gorjuss Challenge 214 - Special Christmsa

Hello everyone, this week's challenge at Totally Gorjuss is ANYTHING GOES - SPECIAL XMAS So to give you a little inspiration here's my DT card - this 8 x 8 card was made for my daughter.  Unfortunately she can't make it home this Christmas due to work commitments - she works as actress at The London Dungeons attraction. This is the first year ever she's not been at home to celebrate it with us, which is sad. I posted this card off to her today so I hope she likes it.  I tried to keep the lines clean and simple as she doesn't like anything too fussy.

To make the card I simply matted my gorgeous First Edition paper onto blue card, then cut another piece of blue card and die cut at the bottom using a new die I bought from Signature which is lovely die and was such a great price at £5.99. I stamped my LOTV sledging pair and coloured them with Copics, and then matted my image onto both cream pearlised card and blue card.  To finish off I added snow with my pearl pen, glitter, gems and a die cut poinsettia, tag and flourish.

Here's what I used.
Stamp: LOTV 'Sledging Buddies'
Paper/Card: First Edition 'Slient Night' Paper Pad, Papermill 'Pearlised' Card, Blue CS, Velvet CS (for markers)

TOTALLY GORJUSS - 208 - SNOW

Welcome to this week's challenge at Totally Gorjuss is ANYTHING GOES - SNOW Snow to give you a little inspiration here's my DT card. :)

I wanted to make quite a simple card.  To start with I matted a piece of blue card onto a scalloped 5 x 5 card base, then stamped the 'snow' image 3 times onto white card and coloured sections of it in with my Derwent Pencils and Baby Oil. I usually use Sansdor with soft pencils but I thought I would give the BO a go, I was very surprised as I found it to be quite good particularly as there's no odour whereas Sansdor's smell can be quite strong. To add a bit of sparkle I added glitter to the word 'Snow' on one of the stamped images layers, then cut out sections from each layer and mounted them on the card with foam pads.  I drew small irregular circles on the background card and coloured them in with a white gel pen.  To finish I added a strip of ribbon and some gems, and 2 diecut glittered card snowflakes with a big red brad on top.

Isn't this 'snow' cute! I've had this wooden stamp for years, when acrylic stamps weren't even a sparkle in someone's eye.

So here's what I used.
Wooden Stamp: Whipper Snapper Designs 'Think Snow'
Paper/Card: Plain Blue Card
Pencils: Prisma and Derwent Coloursoft Pencils
Dies: Cuttlebug Cut/Emboss Snowflake, Marianne Designs LR0125

Totally Gorjuss 206 - String

Hello everybody.
I can't believe I managed to create and upload my DT card for this week's challenge over at Totally Gorjuss, which is ANYTHING GOES with STRING. I've been so stressed trying to help my daughter find somewhere to live before she's made homeless this Sunday. She's only been in her lodgings for 2 months - she got told by her room mates days before she was moving down there that the landlord wanted everyone out so he could move his family back (which is fair enough I suppose). 2 months sounds like loads of time to find somewhere else, unfortunately not in London.  Decent affordable properties are like gold there, plus you have to have the time to find them and view them, not easy when you work 9+ hours a day and get odd days off. So I sat for 3 days solid looking at and contacting tenants and landlords on the internet.  Finally on Sunday we got somewhere and she found a room and everything is now signed.  However, I'll only give a sigh of relief when she moves in on Friday.  So like I said 'stressed'!!

ANYWAY, here's my card for the challenge.  It's digi stamp from Polkdoodles 'Magical Winter' CD collection, and coloured with Copics.  I added my bakers twine, butter and gorgeous glittery snowflake to finish it off.

Here's what I used.
Digi Stamp: Polkadoodles CD collection 'Magical Winter'
Die: Cuttlebug 'Snowflake'
Copics: Various colours used (I can't find my list of colours -sorry)
Other: Bakers Twine, Glitter, Button

While you're there remember to enter your card/project into our weekly challenge - remember it's ANYTHING GOES with STRING. There's a prize up for grabs and this week's sponsors is Heathers Hobbie Haven.

I'm look forward to seeing what you make.

Totally Gorjuss 205 - Wings & Things

Wow, another week has come and gone.  I can't believe how fast time is moving and getting closer to Christmas (darn it I said the 'C' word again !) as we speak.

So here it is another Totally Gorjuss  DT Challenge card - this week's theme is ANYTHING GOES with WINGS & THINGS.  So come on join in with the fun and enter your card or project.......you know you want to!

I decided to make a CAS card, and purely concentrate on the colouring of the digi image I used from Cuddly Buddly. Even though the image is a summer one, I decided to use my fav autumnal colours - because I can. LOL  ;)

The digi image was printed onto plain white card along with a butterfly poem. I coloured the little cutie in with my Prisma Pencils using some Sansdor to blend the colours.  Finally I added a tiny amount of glitter to the flowers and mounted it onto my punched border, then onto my base 8" x 6" base.

Here's what I used.
Digi Stamp: Cuddly Buddly 'Toby Tumble DS Special Friends'
Punch: Xcut 'Design not known'
Prisma Pencils: Various colours used
Other: Computer Generated Sentiment, Glitter, Gems
