Sweet Stampin' - Flowers

Hi and Happy New Year

Good morning everyone, it's my turn to share my Sweet StampinDesign Team card with you. Our cheerful theme this week is 'Flowers' and remember you MUST include a stamped element on your card/project.

For my project this week I am sharing a box card I made for my daughter using a variety of digi images from Mo Manning and Polkadoodles - I coloured everything with Copics and fussy cut all the images out.

Here's What I did
After creating my box and adding my papers to it. I die cut flowers attaching some to acetate strips.  I then printed off my digi stamps - the Mad Hatter, Alice, Dormouse, cups, etc. I coloured them all in with Copics and also attached these to acetate strips. Everything including the die cut flowers were then placed inside the box.  The quotes were printed and die cut and coloured with pan pastels.  You'll also spot the odd playing card (including the Queen of Hearts) - these are actually mini cards from a Xmas cracker.

Click the link here to the Box Card Template I've created.  It's a bit lengthy sorry, but it does have illustrations.  You can open, download and/or save it. FYI, if you want to make the box height and/flaps slightly larger or smaller just increase or decease the measurements I've given you. Any questions just email me...have fun!

Happy 5th Birthday Sweet Stampin'

Yay Sweet Stampin' is 5 today!!!

Happy Birthday To Us - so to celebrate I've created a special birthday card just for the occasion. To see more birthday cards from our lovely Design Team, and to join in with this week's challenge go  to Sweet Stampin'

For my card this week I used a Mo Manning digi stamp, it's an old digi that Mo gave away for one of her challenges - however you can still buy her from Mo's online shop here. I've had her coloured up for ages so I thought I would give the poor thing a home on my CAS card.

Here's What I did
I used a white 5" x  5" card base which I matted with bright pink card. Then I die cut a circle in the middle of some pale pink card to create an inverted frame, behind which I added a small piece of  pretty flowery paper. As I mentioned Trudy was already coloured up with some promarkers - I think I coloured her approx a year ago and she looks pretty good! All I needed to do with Trudy was fussy cut her out, add a little sparkle and layer her up onto my card base. To finish off I added faux stitching, a die cut flower, my personal greeting to Sweet Stampin' and a few Candi.

Here's everything I used:
Stamp: 'Trudy Party Dress' by Mo Manning
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Pink CS, Trimcraft 'What A Hoot' Paper Pad
Promarkers: Unknown - sorry!!!
Dies: Tonic 'Circle' Layering Dies, MFT Die-namics Blueprint 'xxx'
Other: Glitter, Candi, Fineliner Pen

So why not drop by the Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog and check out what my fab Design Team girlies have made to inspire you. So come on why not join in with the fun and enter your card/project into our 'Happy Birthday' challenge we'd love to see you. REMEMBER you must include a stamped element on your card!

This week's sponsor and prize is Wild Orchid Crafts.

I look forward to seeing what you create.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge - To Die For

Good morning to you all.

Well, it's here again ---- it's Sweet Stampin' time and the theme this week is To Die For.  The theme requires that you use at least 1 die along with a stamped element on your card or project. This theme is right up my street, it combines my 2 loves stamps and dies --- sssh, don't tell my hubbie!. Lol :)

I decided to share the Halloween card I made for my daughter - it's kind of a tradition with us as I make her a card every year. She loves Halloween, it's one of her favourite times of the year. My daughter really doesn't do cute so when I spotted this fab image from Mo Manning I knew I had to use it plus it reminded of a witchy character in a film my daughter likes. Of course I used the now traditional Halloween colour combo --- purple, orange and black.

Here's What I did
I used a 7" x  7" card base and matted it with black card. The orange and purple card mats were die cut in the middle to create an inverted frame. I used 2 dies - 1 of which was slightly smaller than the other to create the frame. Using CraftArtist 2 I added my digi stamp along some sparkle which I placed above her, along with some text. When I was happy with my layout I printed it out and coloured the stamp with Copic markers. The completed image was then matted behind the purple and orange cardstock and added to my card base. To finish off I added some die cut flowers, ribbon and a splash of glitter.

Here's everything I used:
Stamp: 'Hocus Pocus' by Mo Manning
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Craftwork Cards Super smooth Digital CS,  Basal Black, Orange & Purple CS
Copics: Skin - E000, E00, E02 / Hair & Cloak Trim - YR000, YR00, YR02, YR04 /  Dress - V01, V09, V12, V15/ Cloak - C1, C2, C3, C5, C7, 100 / Broom - E33, E37, E38 / Ground - W0, W1, W2, W3 / Earring - YG17
Dies: Go Kreate 'Large Frilly Frame #8' , MFT Die-namics 'Flower & Leaf Trio' and 'Prima Donna Petal'
Other: Serif CraftArtist2, Glitter, Ribbon, Button, Sharpie Gold Pen,

So why not drop by the Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog and check out what my fab Design Team girlies have made to inspire you. So come on why not join in with the fun and enter your card/project into our 'To Die For'challenge we'd love to see you. REMEMBER you must include a stamped element on your card!

Sweet Stampin' - Father's Day/Special Man

Hellooooo, well it's that time of the month again ---- it's Sweet Stampin' time.

If you live in the UK I hope you've all enjoyed the May Bank holiday despite the awful dreary weather. I'm ashamed to say my heating got turned back on last weekend and it was my hubbie who turned it on --- so if he's cold, it must be cold  :-)

Here in the UK on June 15th it will be Father's Day, so to get you in the mood our challenge theme this week is Father's Day/Special Man. So here's my little DT card for you - this is such a sweet digi stamp.  I actually used this image last year on a  Father's Day card for my daughter to give to her dad.

Here's What I did
Another CAS card for you. After printing out my cute digi stamp from Mo Manning onto Neenah card stock, I die cut it into a square and coloured the image with Copics and matted this onto my 5" x 5" Kraft card base  To add a little embellishment I die cut a sentiment and some brown card with my banner die and attached it to the top of the card and finished it off with a little pink heart..

Lol, I told you it was a simple card, but to be fair men don't do complicated or fussy.

Here's everything I used:
Digi Stamp:  'Love You Daddy' available from Mo Manning
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Kraft CS, Neenah CS, Brown Papermain CS
Copics: Skin - E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20, R30 / Hair - C1, C2, C5, C7, 100 / Dress, Shoes & Flower Heads - RV0000, RV00, RV02, RV06 / T-Shirt & Trainers - E40, E41, E43, E47  / Jeans - B32, B45, B97, B39 / Watch - Y00, Y06, Y17 / Leaves - YG06

Mo's Digital Pencil Guest Designer Entry

I thought I would be daring and enter this little cutie into Mo Manning's Guest Designer call out. I entered it in the 'Good-bye Summer' challenge. It's for a 3 month term. I know I don't stand a cat in hell's chance as the standard of Mo's DT is out of this world, but I thought what the hell what have I got to lose!  Mo is one of my most fav illustrators, her drawings are down right gorgeous.  I've been using Mo's digital images for years, long before digital stamps became fashionable and long before they were turned into rubber stamps. Honestly, I'm not sucking up lol!  I just love, love her images - she has such a fantastic eye; and although I love all her stamps I think the way she captures little ones is so exact that they're just magical, and don't fail to make you giggle.

So here's my offering, I hope you like it. I've had this little 'Summer Baby' stamp for years, I got it when Mo did it as a freebie (I know I keep saying 'it', that's because it can be either a girl or a boy). I loved it but never had a reason to use it....till now. I used this little chap because my thought was that he's grabbing the last of the summer sun before autumn kicks, and having a little paddle. Well that's my way of thinking anyway. :)

He's been printed 3 times, different areas were coloured in, then cut out and layered up.  Note: You can still buy him from Mo's store here.

Here's what I used -
Paper: Papermania 'Blue' A5 Pad
Die: Memory Box 'Big Splash Border'
Copics: Skin - E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20 / Inflatable Ring - B0000, B000, B00, B02, B05 / Pool - BG10, BG13, YG11, YG17, YG23, YG41 / Fish & Ball - Y06, Y17, BG10, BG13 / Hair - YR0000, YR000, E13, E15 / Water - B0000, B000, B02, B05 / Shorts - YG23, Y06
Pan Pastels: Phathol Green, Turqiouse
Other: Button, Bakers Twine, Hole Punch, Serif's CraftArtist 2 (used for the background and text)

Hope you like it - and wish me luck.

Chocolate & Mint...Yummy!

Made for my closest friend's son who turned 18 last week.

I used the fabulous boy with his laptop, drawn by the equally fabulous Mo Manning.  I wanted to make a simple card with an earthy look suitable for a teenage boy, and I didn't want to make it over complicated. I bought First Edition's Summer Breeze paper pad for another card I'm doing and I was so inspired by the paper designs and colours that I decided to go with a brown and mint green theme.  I must admit the papers in this pad are gorgeous! I must admit I can colour till the cows come home but I always struggle with my background layers, so after seeing many blog cards recently with the banner strips I decided to try them out, and hopefully they work well.

I used:
Pens: Promarkers, Flexmarkers, Copics, Spectum Noirs
Papers: First Edition ' Summer Breeze'
Ink: Black Memento, Tea Dye Distressing Ink
Computer generated sentiment
Image: Computer Boy from Mo's Digital Pencil

Thanks for looking, hope you like it.

Silver Wedding Couple

I made this for my mum and step dad who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last week. Congratuations to you both !!!

My mum has never had a 25th anniversary because we sadly lost my dad when he was only 41 - they were married for 21 years.

The gorgeous drawing is a digi image from Mo Manning (Mo's Digital Pencil), which I printed out a few times, coloured with pro and flex markers, then cut out and layered up.  The matted and layered mounts were made from silver mirra card and white cardstock which I stamped and embossed with silver swirly leaves.  The edges of the white embossed card were cut using my new babies - my Grand Calibur and Spellbinders Edgeabilities dies (all bought by my lovely hubbie as a treat - kiss kiss Tony!!)  Each layer was lifted up using foam pads and finally I added a flower and a silver swirl.

Here are the rest of the details:
Promarkers:  Warm Grey 4, Cool Grey 2 & 4, Blossom, Rose Pink
Flexmarkers: Blue Grey, Light Fawn, Pale Blossom
Spectrum Pens: Blue Grey 1, Warm Grey 0.5, 1 & 3

Edgeabilities Die: Classic Bracket
Equipment: Grand Calibur
Stamps: Clarity Stamps - Large and small Leafy Swirl / Silver embossing powder

Flower: Sizzix 3 Flower Layer Die / Worn Lipstick Distressing ink
Swirl: Marianne Creatables

I'm Back!

Well, I promised you that I would update my blog. so I've added a slideshow and a visitor feed viewer, also due to what looked like spam messages I felt it necessary to remove the Chat Box - if you did leave me a message I apologise.  Anyway I hope you like the changes I've made and I hope you'll visit me often, and if you like a card I've made why not leave me a comment or become a follower.

Well here's the first card for you to look at.  It was a card made for my mum to give to my step-dad on his birthday.

I cut out a cloud shapes, an oval aperature, tore a wave shape from paper and created a mask of the man and the boat. Then using these shapes I sponged through the aperture and behind the topper onto the card blank  to continue the design.  The materials I used:

Image - Fishing (from Mo Manning Digital Pencil)
'Waterfall' Big & Juicy pad - sea, fish, paper strip, edge of the card
Faded Jeans Distressed Ink - sky, edge of the card
Promarkers - Fisherman
Nestibilities - Sentiment tag
Computerised sentiement

Mo's Boy

I made this for my mum to give to my nephew (...sssh!), his birthday's not until next week. The brilliant image from Mo Manning was a dream to colour, and it soooo looks like my nephew.  I used my favourite Promarkers to colour him in and used blue chalk around him.  The background was printed directly onto the A5 card using Greeting Card Factory. I tend to use GCF most of the time as this allows me to print my digital papers and images straight onto the card I'm using, plus I use it for making my insert.  Sometimes I'll use it just for setting out my layout of my card to give me ideas.  I must admit I wouldn't be without it!  Sorry about the quality of the photo.  I'll try and upload another one later.

Image: Texting Boy from Mo's Digital Pencils
Promarkers used:  Ivory, Blush, Apricot, Meadow Green, Lime, Forest Green, Pastel Blue, Cornflower, Saffron

This was my first attempt at making an easel card, I made it for my sister Michele's birthday. I used one of  Mo's Mannings fabulous drawing. This is so me and my sis, hence the sentiment.  I layered up the girl in blue and some of the flowers to give them dimension.

Materials used:
Image: Stepsisters (Mo's Digital Pencil)
Promarkers: Blossom, Rose Pink, Ivory, Blush, Lemon, Cool Aqua, Sky Blue, Saffron, Apricot, Terracotta, Meadow Green, Lime Green.
Stamped flowers: Papermania Doodles (coloured with Rose Pink)
CS: Pink and white (local stockists)
