Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Ribbons and Bows

Hello and good morning everyone.

Omg, it's that time of the month again ---- it's Sweet Stampin' time. Yay!!!

This week's theme is Ribbon & Bows. So I thought I would share a retirement card I made for a sewing teacher which I thought suited our challenge.

Here's What I did
I used a 8" x 8" white card base, and matted and layered it with CS (cardstock) and some pretty LOTV (Lili Of the Valley) papers. I printed my sentiment onto white CS and then die cut it using a fancy oval. Whiule still in the die I used some distressing ink around the edge to give a softer look. The mannequin (dress form), scissors and sewing machine were all cut out using my cutting machine. For each of the shapes I created an extra inverted layer which I cut out from patterned paper, to give more dimension I also stamped flowers on top. I added a lace skirt to the mannequin and some ribbon, the thread bobbin was stampede and wrapped with ribbon. To finish off I added a little glitter to the mannequin body and placed buttons around the sentiment.

** Sorry about the photo quality - it's these grey and foggy days we've been having - such a nightmare to take photos on. **

Here's everything I used:
Stamp: Bobbin 'Sew Pretty' - Craft Mag Freebie, Flowers' My Minds Eye 'The Sweetest Thing'
Paper/Cardstock (CS): LOTV 'Petal Fresh' and 'Promises - Solid', Papermania CS
Dies: Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities 'Ovals One'
Other: Silhouette Cameo, Cutting Files, Glitter, Buttons, Ribbon

So why not drop by the Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog and check out what my fab Design Team girlies have made to inspire you. So come on why not join in with the fun and enter your card/project into our 'Ribbons & Bows' challenge we'd love to see you. REMEMBER you must include a stamped element on your card!

Sugar Nellie - Fairy Cakes

Hello Sugar Peeps!

It's my turn to show you one of the many stamps from the Sugar Nellie range over at Funkykits or the Etsy store. So for my DT card for this week I thought I would pick something sugary and sweet.  This little cutie is called 'Fairy Cakes', isn't she cute, she's a rubber stamp and she's on sale at the moment over at Funkykits, so grab her now.

Here's What I Did
I decided to make a pretty little card with this stamp and my new LOTV papers were a perfect compliment to it. Using the colours in the paper I decided to use sugar candy shades. My paper and pink cardstock were matted and layered straight onto my 6" x 6" white card base. I stamped my cute little fairy onto some Neenah card and coloured her with Copics. I die cut the finished fairy topper, a scalloped circle and some flowers from coloured card. The topper, flowers and buttons were attached to my card and to finish off I added a touch of glitter.
Here's What I Used
Rubber Stamp: Sugar Nellie 'Fairy Cake's available from Funkykits
Paper/Cardstock (CS): , Pink & Green' Papermania CS, Neenah Colouring CS, LOTV 'Bonnets & Bowties'

Totally Gorjuss Challenge 213 - Anythings Goes - Santa

Hellooooo everybody, only 2½ weeks to Crimbo....yey!! So to get you in the mood the challenge this week  at Totally Gorjuss is ANYTHING GOES - SANTA So to give you a little inspiration here's my card or should I say tag. Isn't he a handsome chap!

I love making tags, they look good and they're so simple to make as well as being really useful.  So here's what I did - after printing a computerised sentiment out I die cut it into a circle and added red pan pastel to it. The circle was added to a  red scalloped circle along with die cut holly leaves.  My digi Santa was printed off 4 times onto Velvet card and coloured in using my copics.  I then cut out certain sections and layered them up and finally adding him to the circle.  To finish I added glitter and a ribbon.

Here's what I used.
Digi Stamp: Sassy Cheryl 'Better Not Pout Santa'
Paper/Card: Red and White Card, Velvet CS (super smooth card for alcohol pens)
Copics: Skin - E0000, E000, E00, R30, R20 / Hat & Berries - R20, R22, R30, R27, R29, R59 / Holly - G21, G94, G99
Dies: Spellbinder - Small 'Circle' and 'Scallop Circle', Memory Box 'Holly'
Other: Glitter, Ribbon, Permanent Ref Pan Pastel

While you're there don't forget to enter your card/project into our weekly challenge - remember it's ANYTHING GOES SANTA. There's a prize up for grabs and this week's sponsors is J & C Creations.

Totally Gorjuss Challenge 210 - Patterned Paper

OMG, how quickly is this month going...it must because I'm getting older or something as I'm sure I've lost a month somewhere .LOL  Anyway back to business the challenge this week  at Totally Gorjuss is ANYTHING GOES - PATTERNED PAPER So to give you a little inspiration here's my DT card.
I made this 8 x 8 for my mum and stepdad for their anniversary.  I decided to keep it simple but elegant. Using the leafy swirl stamp and a versamark ink pad I stamped onto the pink paper, and then added mica powder over the top. My patterned paper was mounted onto cream card which I'd fishtailed, and I die cut my sentiment created in CraftArtist 2 and mounted it.  To finish it off I added a ribbon and my handmade flowers.

Here's what I used.
Paper/Card: First Edition 'Love Letter', Cream and Pink Card
Stamp: Clarity 'Leafy Swirl'
Dies: Spellbinders 'Floral Oval', Britannia Multi 'Large Rose', Martha Stewart Leaf Punch, Marianne Design ' Swirl Rose'
Other: Gems, Ribbon, CraftArtist 2, Versamark ink, Cosmic Shimmer Mica Powder

Sweet Stampin' - Shaped Card Challenge

Hello everybody, well another 2 weeks has past and it's my turn to show you my Design Team card/project for the Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog. This week's challenge is to create a SHAPED CARD (No squares or rectangles allowed) with a stamped image or element on it.

For my challenge card I create a handbag - this is my take on a Fendi bag. All the templates I searched for were designed to be cut out of one piece of A4 card - making the final bag really small. So after finding a template shape I really liked (this was a download file) I adapted it so that the front panel and each bag side including the folding vent could be cut out of an A4 pieces of card, making the completed bag a good size. I stamped the body of the bag with my leafy swirl stamp and versamark ink as I wanted to create a delicate watermark look. I used a Velcro dot on the top of the bag so it could be opened and closed easily, and because I used a valley fold vent inside it also stands up perfectly. I also diecut some embellishments to hang from the bag, one of which has a greeting on it.

I made a small envelope pocket and attached it on the inside, and I stamped a small greeting card to pop inside. I wanted the inside of the bag to look neat so I lined the top clasp section and covered the ends of the ribbon with the same paper as the front.

Here's what I used:
Template: Becky Roberts  - Tres Chic Handbag
Papers: Deep Cream CS, Parchment Cream Paper, First Edition 'Desert Blooms'
Dies: Spellbinder Shapeabilities 'Damask Accents' and 'Persian Motifs'
Stamp: Clarity - Leafy Swirl
Other: Ribbon, Versamark, Cutting Machine

So why not drop by Sweet Stampin' Challenge Blog and check out what Shaped Cards my fabulous Design Teamies have created to inspire you. While you're there why not enter your card or project into the challenge - don't forget it must include a stamped image/element on it. This week's sponsor and prize is from THE HOBBY HOUSE and the monthly draw sponsor is The Ribbon Girl.

I look forward to seeing what you create.

April Appetisers For You

Here's the first of a few cards I've made recently, hope you like them.

Well it's Sunday and the weather here is dull, wet and windy....so I guess it's crafting weather then...aah poor me! :)

So I've decided that I'm going to  have a good play with the crafting goodies my gorgeous daughter Heather and my lovely hubbie bought me for my birthday - my new inyklicious stamps, distressed inks and prismacolour pencils. I'm also going to scan in a couple of pictures created by moi of my flower doodles, there were inspired by the brilliant and very talented Heather Telford on her blog Bit's & Pieces. Thanks Heather!

The card was made for my Auntie using my new Spellbinder dies, a really old stamp and distessed in - a very simple card to make.

Thanks for visting.
