Crafter's Companion 'Inspirers' Design Team - Baby Box Project

Hi everyone

Well I'm here today (erm tonight!) to share one of my Crafter's Companion Inspirers Design Team project with you. This one I made a little while ago but didn't get chance to blog...and there will be more like this to follow. The end of November and December is always a really busy time for me, as I have 2 special birthday to create for...my hubbie and daughter. So I'm a bit behind with my blogging. So you'll see quite a few Crafter's Companion projects over the next few weeks --- I hope you like them.

So here's a pop-up box I created in November using Sara's Signature Collection - Little Angel. I adore this collection, the dies cut beautifully and are visually pretty. So if you like them, get them while they're still in stock. ðŸ’›

Here's What I Did
I used an A4 sheet of blue card to create the box and white card for the embossed panels.

To help you make a box I have designed a few templates using different measurements types for you - click the link here to go to my Box Card Templates.  The instructions are a bit lengthy...sorry, but they do have illustrations. You can open, download and/or save it.

FYI, if you want to make the box height and/flaps slightly larger or smaller just increase or decease the measurements I've given you. Any questions just email me...have fun!

After creating my box I made the panels using white card. I cut the panels to size then embossed them using a pretty dotted clouds embossing folder, then edged each one with blue distressing ink. and glued them in place. Using lemon, blue and white card I die cut lots of baby embellishments, stars and clouds, and attached them all to the struts inside the box using strips of acetate.

The sentiment was stamped and die cut into an oval then matted onto a larger oval which I edged with glitter. The sentiment and a few baby die cuts were added to the side panels. To finish off I attached 2 pearls and a butterfly to the sentiment.

Here's What I Used
Crafter's Companion Products - Sara's Signature 'Little Angels' Collection (Baby Carriage, My First Outfit, Baby Accessories, Dotty Clouds Embossing Folder), Diamond Press 'Clouds', Sheena Douglass White Stamping CardDiamond Press Stamp & Die Set 'Love Today' Stamp & Die Set, Crafter's Companion Sentimentals 'Greetings - Baby Stamps',  Crafter's Companion Acetate

Other: Blue & Lemon Card, Buttons, Pearls, Tumbled Glass Distressing Ink, Gold Pen, Manual Die Cutting Machine

Mother's Day Flower Box

Good afternoon everybody

I know I recently posted a DT box card for Mother's Day/Special Lady but that card wasn't actually for my mum as she's already seen it so there wouldn't have been a surprise.  However, because she absolutely love the concept of the box card I decided to make her one.

So I thought as I don't have a Design Team card to show you today I would share it with you.  To say she loves this card is an understatement ----- she REALLY LOVES this card.  She won't take it down from the mantelpiece where she keeps it, and intends to leave it up permanently. See I told you she loves it! :-)

Here's What I Did
I made the box body myself and decorated the sides and flaps with patterned papers edged with distressing ink. Each strut inside the box was embellished with die cut flowers, butterflies, a sentiment. Mostly of the content was created using a Craftwork Cards kit. Some of the embellishment were added to the struts themselves and some were taped to card branches.

I've created my own box card tutorials in 3 different versions --- please feel free to print or save them. You can find them on the TIPS, TUTORIAL, HINTS Page (see the link at the top of the page).  These tuts took me forever to write and create, so please do not pass them off as your own - and I would appreciate a link back to my blog if you use them to make your card.  Plus I'd love to see what you create using them, so why not get in touch I'd love to hear from you.

Here's everything I used:
Paper/Cardstock (CS): White CS, Various Coloured CS, Craftwork Card - Paper Floristry 'Sherbet' Pad, Pink Glitter CS
Dies: XCut 'Bloom', Cheery Lyn Designs 'Exotic Butterfly Small', Sizzix 'Banner #2'
Other: Glitter, Craftwork Cards 'Candi', Foam Pads, Distressing Ink 'Worn lipstick', Serif CA2 (Sentiment), Pearls

I'll have a few DT cards to show you in the next few days, so watch this space.

Hope you like my make today.  Happy crafting and thanks for dropping by.

Hugs

Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Inspired By A....Book, Film or Song

It's Sweet Stampin' time for me again, and our theme this week is INSPIRED BY...A FILM, BOOK OR A SONG. I'd love you to join us and take part, in the fun - but just remember your project MUST include a stamped element. So to get you in the mood here's my card for you - I hope you like it.  I opted to make a box card and I chose 'Alice In Wonderland' and the Mad Hatter. I've also included a tutorial on how to made a box card to fit in an A5 envelop if you would like to use it.

Here's What I did
After creating my box and adding my papers to it. I die cut flowers attaching some to acetate strips.   I then printed off my digi stamps - the Mad Hatter, cups, teapots and cakes. I coloured them all in with Copics and also attached these to acetate strips. The quotes were printed and die cut and coloured with pan pastels.  The red & green small cups I drew myself.  Everything was then placed inside the box.  You'll also spot the odd playing card (including the Queen of Hearts) - these are actually mini cards from a Xmas cracker.

Click the link here to the Box Card Template I've created.  It's a bit lengthy sorry, but it does have illustrations.  You can open, download and/or save it. FYI, if you want to make the box height and/flaps slightly larger or smaller just increase or decease the measurements I've given you. Any questions just email me...have fun!

Sugar Bowl Challenge - Mother's Day/Special Lady

Hi everyone, it seems like ages since I made a card for the The Sugar Bowl. The theme this month is a Mother's Day/Special Lady.

Here's my card or should I say 'pop-up' card.  This is the first time I've made one of these, and loved it.  I used to make exploding boxes years ago, because they were so dimensional and these are the same sort of thing. I've take a few photos of this so you can see the detail, I have to admit it took me best part of a day and half to make but I did have a few hiccups along the way.

Why not join in with us and make a card/project for the special someone in your life, but don't forget your project MUST include a Sugar Nellie stamp or digi stamp - both are available from Funkykits. If you're not sure if your stamp IS a Sugar Nellie stamp either sent me a message with it's name/picture or visit the Sugar Bowl website and send an email to Sugar Mama using the link there.

Here's What I Did

UPDATE: I have just included a link to the tutorial I've created on how to make a box  **Sleep warning** it's a bit lengthy sorry, but it does have illustrations. Click here to open, download and/or save it. FYI, if you want to make the box height and/flaps slightly larger or smaller just increase or decease the measurements I've given you. Any questions just email me...have fun!

I decorated the box sides and flaps with patterned papers edged with distressing ink. Each strut inside the box was embellished with die cut flowers, butterflies, a sentiment and my sweet Sugar Nellie fairy which I coloured with Copics and with a splash of glitter to her wings. Some of the embellishment were added to the struts themselves and some were taped to acetate strips. The idea is to give the box dimension and interest. The content is supposed to be hidden from view when it's flat but when the recipient 'squares' up the box the content 'pop's up' to give the surprise (as you see above).

Hope you like it. These boxes are all the rage at the moment and are so easy to make, so why not give them a go and make one for the 'special lady' in your life using your favourite Sugar Nellie stamp.

Here's everything I used:
Stamp:  'Live Laugh Love' Sugar Nellie stamp available from Funkykits
Paper/Cardstock (CS): First Edition 'Spring Drop', Papermill Textured Cream CS, Various Coloured CS, Glitter CS
Copics: Skin - E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20, R30 / Hair: YR0000, YR000, YR00, E13, E99 / Dress, Shoes & Flowers - R000, R20, R30, R32, R35 / Wings - G000, G00, G02
Dies: Die-namics Blueprint 8, Spellbinders 'Rose Creations', Butterfly 'Magazine freebie', XCut 'Bloom' and 'Oval' & 'Scallop Oval', Cheery Lyn Designs' Fanciful Flourish' and 'Exotic Butterfly Small', Tattered Lace 'Embellishments'
Other: Glitter, Craftwork Cards 'Candi', Acetate, Foam Pads, Inkylicious 'Mother' Sentiment Stamp, Distressing Ink Pad 'Worn Lipstick'

So don't forget to drop by at The Sugar Bowl and have a look at what the rest of my fabulous DT sweeties have created to inspire you; and why not join in with this month's challenge while you're there. It's open to everyone, and the theme is Mother's Day/Special Lady so  come on give it a go.

You can create anything you like but it MUST include a SUGAR NELLIE STAMP (either rubber or digi) otherwise it will be removed (sorry!).

Have fun, and I look forward to seeing your creations on my return.

Hugs
