Sweet Stampin' Design Team Card - Inspired By A Film, Book Or A Song

Hello and good morning everyone ---

Well it's Saturday and Sweet Stampin' time - so I'm here to share my Design Team Challenge project with you. Our fab theme this week is 'Inspired By A Film, Book Or A Song'. Well that gives you plenty of scope but don't forgot to enter our challenge you must include a stamped element on your card/project.

So my project I decided to go with a song...can you guess what it is yet? I actually made this card for my daughter and her boyfriend as they both love Halloween; I've made my daughter a card every year ever since she was small. I kept the design pretty simple as the image is drawn inside a frame which was crying out to be decoupaged...so it was rude not to. My daughter received it in the post on Tuesday and loved it.

Soooo, have you figured out my song yet? Yep, it's the 'Monster Mash' by Bobby Pickett. It always makes me smile when I hear it, and these cute character fit in nicely to the theme.
 

 

 

  

 



 Here's What I Did

I used a 7" x 7" white card and matted it with orange and black card. I printed the image 3 times onto colouring card and cut away the background on one of the layer and coloured in Frankenstein with markers. I then printed out a background paper with my own sentiment on it and placed the first layer over the top of it flat, then added it to the card front.

Next I coloured in the mummy (only) with marker pens, and fussy cut both him and Dracula out, this was added them to the 1st layer using foam pads. Dracula was also coloured with marker pens and fussy cut out, then he was added the frame using foam pads to complete the picture. To finish off the card I added glitter pen to the stars and bow tie, and glossy accents to all the characters eyes.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Halloween

BOO!!! 
It's Sweet Stampin' time again, and our theme this week is HALLOWEEN (hence the Boo!)

I thought I would use a digi stamp I last used for my daughter's Halloween card last year; it's such a sweet image and couldn't resist using it again.

 

Here's What I did

I used a 6" x 6" white card base to start with. To create the layout with the digi stamp and sky background I used CraftArtist 2, the layout was then printed it off. I printed out another 2 copies of the digi stamp and coloured sections of it in with Copics, these were then fussy cut out and mounted onto the base image using foam pads. Everything was then matted and layered onto purple, black and orange CS; everything was then added to the card base. To finish off I added a touch of glitter to the stars - even at Halloween you need a bit of sparkle. :)

Sweet Stampin' - Milestone Birthday

Hellooooo, well it's that time again ---- it's Sweet Stampin' time.  Yey!!

Our fab theme this week is 'Milestone Birthday' - mmm, I wonder why!!!

 

 

Here's What I did

I thought I would keep it CAS this week with simple matting and layering with a die cut flower. I did however print off a few extra images of the digi stamp, coloured portions of it in and fussy cut them out, and layered them up. To finish off I added a little glitter, a few gems and sequins - and oh yes some glossy accents to her glasses.  The digi image and sentiment was set out using CraftArtist 2 before printing and die cutting out.

Totally Gorjuss Challenge 218 - Manly

Hi there, well here I am again with this week'd DT card for Totally Gorjuss.  The theme this week is a bit more challenging it's ANYTHING GOES -  MANLY.  I know, I know....we all struggle with any kind of card for the men or man in our lives, and I'm no exception.  When I saw the theme I gave a huge sign of relieve as I'd only recently made this card for my hubbie's 50th birthday.  He loved it!  I was originally inspired by a card I saw by Jen Nelson here.  The actual concept is a really easy one, but I think it's the additional of colour that gives it a bit of umph.



The card is an 8 x 8 and with the red and blue mats it's probably reduced to a 7 x 7" card. The base layout was created in CraftArtist2 so I could lay out the square evenly. I created squiggly line boxes to give an informal look and inserted the Bugaboo digi images inside each one, and then typed in the tag line and printed it off. 

The same digi images were then printed out 2/3 times and then coloured with Copics. The coloured pieces were then cut out and layered up as I wanted to give it a 3D feel. The whole thing worked out much better than I anticipated, and I have to admit cutting out some of the element was really fiddly and took me ages. I decided matted and layer up the centre square as that was the main sentiment. Overall the card was a bit pricey....but hey it's personal to my DH and he's worth it.

Spooky - Totally Gorjuss Challenge 207

It's almost Halloween here in the UK, and to get you in the mood the challenge this week  at Totally Gorjuss is ANYTHING GOES - SPOOKY.  So to give you a little inspiration here's my DT card.

 

My 8 x 8 card was quite a simple make.  The background was created in CraftArtist 2, basically I created a square with a gradient fill of black and orange, then I added the sentiment and digi image.  After printing off the background sheet I printed the digi image off a further 4 times, and coloured sections in with my copics. The coloured elements were cut out and layered up.  SIMPLE!  Lol, well maybe not that simple, it was a bit of a devil to cut out as some layers contained quite a large scene and some bits were really fiddly.  Anyway I love how it turned out - although sadly my photo isn't the best as you can't really see the depth in the picture.

I made the card for my sweet daughter as she loves, loves Halloween, plus she now works as an actress at the London Dungeon - which is quite apt.

Heart to Heart

LOL, I made this for my husband for our 25th anniversary to give him a giggle. It was so simple to make.

I cut out 2 card using my Cricut,which I distressed and dashed. I glued them together overlaying them slightly.  I computer generated the message to my husband and hand cut it to make a banner, and distressed the edges again.  The digi image was printed off 3 times, coloured and cut out and then layered up; this was then glued onto the front of the hearts.  The very apt sentiment came with the digi couple, which I printed off, distressed and layered up onto the front of the heart. I added glossy accents to their glasses...it makes their eyes bulge!!

The hard part was making it stand up.  So I had to devised a standing mechanism, it took several attempts to get it right...but I did finally.   Here it is.....it's not the best photo I  know, but it was hard to get the shot right,
