Craftsulove Design Team - June Card #1

Morning guy ðŸ’œ

For this post I'm wearing my Craftulove Design Team Hat on...and yes, it's my first post for them ever. How excited am I!!

So for today's card I've used 'Wild For You' stamps from Lawn Fawn, 6" x 6" 'Itsy Bitsy Polka Dot Pastel' Paper Pad from My Favorite Thing (MFT), 'Girl Assortment' matt enamel dots from Doodlebug Designs Inc, and finally Scalloped Circle Layering Dies from Tonic Studios.  The rest of the products I used are from my own stash, unless mentioned below..

I loved working with this stamp set; all the little animals are so cute and they stamp brilliantly. Once stamped they were so easy to colour as there's lots of open space. I teamed the completed scene with some bright green dotty paper from the pad, which have the most gorgeous colours inside.

All the links to the specific Craftuslove products can be found below, and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
To create my card I covered the front of a scalloped card base with green dotty paper, leaving a white boarder around the edge.

To create the scene - a circle was die cut from colouring card and I worked out how I wanted my layout to be. Next the crocodile was stamped low down in the centre of the circle. The crocodile was then stamped onto scrap paper to create a mask, this was used to cover the croc up on the colouring card. The rest of the characters were then stamped over the top along with the sentiment with the help of my stamping tool.

I created masks for the rest of the animals and covered everything up, I added blue ink around the characters and along the edge. When all the ink was dry, the masks were removed. Using alcohol pens all the characters were coloured in.

To complete the picture I stamped, coloured and cut out 2 party hats and glued them on the heads of both elephants. The completed topper was attached to a die cut green scalloped circle and added to the card front using foam pads. To finish the card 3 bright pink matt enamel stickers and a little glitter were added to the card front.

Sugar Nellie Design Team - Scrapberry's 'For You'

Hi there Sugar Fans!

Can you believe we're already nearing the end of January; seriously where are the days going!!!

It's been a tough time for my family this week - my dear step-dad (of 30+ years) was taken seriously ill on Saturday and rushed into hospital with breathing difficulties. It's been a horrible few days :(  Thankfully after seeing him tonight (Monday) in hospital I feel happier, he looked so much better than he did. He's 82 and a fighter, he's such a tough cookie. Both my hubbie and I help support both him and my elderly mum. Bless them both, they've been through so much over the past years and yet despite all that they still manage to smile and have a good giggle.  You're both stars and we love you loads xx

Anyhoo, back to business. Here's my Sugar Nellie Design Team card for you this week - I decided to use one of the new clear stamp sets from Scrapberry - this set is called 'For You' and it's available from Funkykits here.  I coloured the cute cat and fishies with Derwent Inktense Pencils, and the rest of the layout was made using my new Lawn Fawn dies. The layout was inspired by my crafty friend Ali - who suggested I made the cat dreaming of his fish supper. Such a great idea, thanks Ali. x

Here's What I Did
The card base was made by cutting an A4 sheet of card in half longwise, then scoring and folding it in half. I die cut a rectangle from a piece of white card, then to create a frame I die cut it again in the centre and removed it. The frame was then mounted on top of some patterned paper together with a die cut hillside in yellow card.

The cat was stamped out twice with Stazon ink, coloured with Derwent Inktense Pencils (watercolour pencils), then cut out and layered up to add an extra bit of dimension. The 'thought' bubble was die cut from white card and stamped with a little fish in the middle of it, I also stamped a few fish skeletons and cut these out - all the fish were coloured with the same pencils.  All the elements were finally added to the frame, and when the scene was complete I raised it up on foam tape and added to my card base. To finish off I added a few holographic sequins.

Here's What I Used
Rubber Stamp: Scrapberry 'For You' available from Funkykits
Inktense Pencils: Cat - Willow, Madder Brown, Carmine Pink, Dark Aquamarine / Boat - Neutral Grey, Chinese Ink / T Shirt - Apple Green, Vivid Green,  Cadmium Yellow, Sicilian Yellow / Fish -  Cadmium Yellow, Sicilian Yellow, Felt Green, Hooker's Green
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Sheena Douglas Stampers White Card, Back To Nature Paper Stack, Yellow Bazzil Cardstock
Dies: Lawn Fawn 'Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables' and 'Stitched Hillside Borders', Thought Bubble (not sure of make)
Other: Punch, Sequins, Stazon Ink Pad

Sweet Stampin' DT - Oh Christmas Tree

Good morning to you all.

Well, it's that time again ---- it's Sweet Stampin' day!!

Our theme this week is 'Oh Christmas Tree'. This so reminds me of the time my daughter was in her infant school Christmas play, which was aptly called 'Oh Christmas Tree'.  At the time I used to help out in the school few days a week - and on this occasion I helped with the costumes, face painting and scenery. I just being involved especially when there was something creative and festive going on and I loved every single minute of it. I can remember feeling so proud of all the little ones who took part including my daughter.  It's hard to believe now, that many of them are successful adults and parents with little ones of their own.  How time flies!!! Well now have the Christmas carol 'Oh Christmas Tee' firmly stuck in my head I can't stop singing it, lol.

Anyhoo, he's my Design Team card for you.  It's quite a CAS one really, with a stamped image and a few die cut elements. It was so quick to make, which is just perfect for this time of the year.

Here's What I did
I used a 5" x 5" white base card on which I matted some patterned paper. Then I die cut a black stitched square and 4 white plain squares. One of the white squares was cut again using a village scene die, the other 3 squares were also die cut using a curved border die so that they would look like snowy slopes.  All the edges of the cut pieces were coloured with a blue Copic pen and glittered, these were then layered up to create a snowy scene. The finished picture was matted onto some red card and added to the card base. Finally I added my stamped and embossed Christmas tree to the picture using some foam tape for dimension, along with a red gems for a bit of glitz.

Here's everything I used:
Stamp: 'Snowy Christmas' - Butterfly Kisses By HobbyArt
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Black and Red CS, Lawn Fawn 'Peace, Joy, Love' Paper Pad.
Dies: Spellbinder 'Curved Border One', XCut '7 Piece Village - Build a Scene'
Other: Embossing Powder, Glitter, Gems, Copic Pen B0000, Sharpie White Pen, Holographic Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink

Sugar Nellie - Hey Little Birdie

Good morning sugar fans!

It's Thursday and my turn to share my little bit of sugary heaven with you. I decided to use this little sweetheart on a card; it's called 'Hey Little Birdie' and it's a digital stamp which I coloured with Copic pens. The stamp is available to buy and download from Funkykits the home of Sugar Nellie. I was inspired to use her after spotting her on one of the new topper sheets created by Hobby House for Sugar Nellie.

Here's What I Did
I've bought a new paper pad by Lawn Fawn which I've fallen in love with, and I can definitely see more purchases falling my way in the immediate future lol. I've also just bought a new bow die - it's brilliant to use and looks amazing when made up as you can see on my card.

This week I decided to create a CAS 5" x 5" card and use 2 colours to give a clean and crisp look. I printed my digital stamp onto some smooth cardstock and die cut it into a square.  The image was then coloured with Copics markers and one Flexmarker as my Blue Green decided to run out :(  I stamped snowflakes onto my finished topper using 2nd gen distressing ink (because the ink pad was too new and very juicy).  I matted and layered plain CS and patterned paper onto the card base and added my finished image on top.  To finish off I placed tiny stars 'n' dots around her and added glitter to the wings etc; lastly I added some die cut holly leaves, berries and a bow.
Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp: Sugar Nellie 'Hey Little Birdie' available from Funkykits
Stamp: HobbyArt 'Snowy Christmas'
Paper/Cardstock (CS): 5" x 5" Scallop Card Base, Aqua and Red CS, Craftwork Digital Smooth CS, Lawn Fawn 'Peace Joy Love'
