Craftsulove Design Team - March Tutorial and Card #2

Morning everyone ๐Ÿ’œ

Today I'm sharing the last of my March Craftulove Design Team cards with you for March plus a tutorial. This week I've again used the Pinkfresh Studios stamp set and Julie Hickey sentiment stamp set but combined them with white embossing powder to create a resist and some distress oxide inks. The final effect was really pretty as the flowers also look distressed.  I hope you like my tutorial and card. If you would like me to create a tutorial covering another crafty technique why not let me know in the comments. x

All the links to the specific Craftuslove products can be found below, and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did

1. From a sheet of black A4 card create a 5¼” x 5¼” card blank.

2. Trim down a piece of white card to 5½” x 5½”. Using a stamping press arrange a few of the stamps and leaves on the card so they lay on and off the card. Close the lid to pick up the stamps.

3. Dust the white card with an anti-static bag to help eliminate residue from finger prints and grease. Apply versamark ink to the stamps, close the lid and stamp them onto the white card. Sprinkle white embossing powder over the top. Carefully remove any stray particles using a fine paint brush.

4. Melt the embossing powder using a heat tool.

5. Using the stamping tool again turn the card 90° and repeat steps 3-6. Continue to stamp the flowers and heat emboss until all the areas are filled.

Tip – If the card is very warped, place it under a pile of book or run it through a die cutting machine to flatten it.

6. Apply 3 different distress oxides to the card using an applicator.
Tip – When you apply the ink use a piece of card to rest your hand on, this will protect your work from fingerprints.

(a) Apply the first colour (Wild Honey) to the bottom of the card.

(b) Add the 2nd colour (Worn Lipstick) next to the first and blend where they meet.

(c) Add the 3rd colour (Candied Apple) at the top and blend this with the 2nd colour.

Repeat the application of the inks blending where each colour meets until you are happy with the result.

7. When the ink is dry wipe the surface over with a soft cloth or a paper towel to remove the ink from the embossing flowers and leaves.

Tip - If the ink is stubborn, slightly dampen the cloth first or use a damp baby wipe.

8. Spritz and flick water over the surface of the card, and dry off the excess with a paper towel.

9. Attach the panel to the front of the card blank leaving a slim border around the edge.

10. Stamp the sentiment on black card using versamark ink. Sprinkle white embossing powder over the top and heat emboss it.

11. Trim down the sentiment to create a banner and cut off the end at an angle. Add this to card front using foam pads.

12. To complete the card add 3 gems to the sentiment banner.

Lili Of The Valley (LOTV) - March #3 Card

Morning everyone๐Ÿ’œ

I'm back with one of my latest Lili Of The Valley (LOTV) cards for you. For this weeks' card I thought I would play with a baby card for you. I just adore all of the LOTV stamps especially the baby section. The digi stamp I used this week is called 'Bunny Cuddles' and it's available from the Etsy store as an instant download. I used Copic pens to colour everything with. I hope you like it. x

For your information, here is the link to the LOTV online store and the LOTV Etsy Store to check out the rest of their goodies.

Here's What I Did
I trimmed down a piece of patterned paper to fit the front of my  6" x 6" card front, inked around the edges then attached it leaving a slim border.

I imported the cute bunny digi stamp image into my graphics software, then resized it to fit the circle die I planned to use. The image was printed directly onto colouring cardstock and coloured using Copic pens, then die cut into a circle. The image was printed again onto copier paper and fussy cut out, then removable sticky tape was added to the back and placed over the image. Blue ink was lightly applied around the bunny along with hand stamped hearts in the same colour ink.

When dry the topper was adhered to a fancy die cut circle and added to the front of the card using foam pads. Using white and blue card die cut leaves and flowers were added to the topper along with a few pearls.

To finish the card a clear glitter pen was applied to the little flower heads.

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp (Bunny): 'Bunny Cuddles'

Lee Holland Illustrations Design Team

Afternoon everyone

It is with great sadness that there will be no more cards from Lee Holland Illustrations Design Team, myself included. Lee and his partner have decided to disband the team and not upload any additional images to his Etsy shop, well for the time being anyway. They have told the team that they need to concentrate on other areas of their lives. I wish them both well and good luck for the future. I hope that one day they will have another Design Team and share more images in the shop.

If you still need a Lee Holland fix, there are lots of Lee's images still available to buy in his store. Here is the link to visit his Etsy shop.

Craftsulove Design Team - March Card #1

Morning everyone ๐Ÿ’œ

Today I'm sharing the first of my March Craftulove Design Team cards with you. This month I received a Pinkfresh Studios stamp set and Julie Hickey sentiment stamp set. I have to admit to being a little out of my comfort zone, as I'm more of stamp and colourist so as there was no colouring to do I was a little lost. But as the stamps are so beautiful it didn't take lost to be inspired. Anyhow I hope you like my final project. x

All the links to the specific Craftuslove products can be found below, and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
I trimmed down a piece white card on to 4¾" x 6¾". I stamped 3 sets of the branches in green ink along with some small flowers in yellow, pink and blue ink. Next I stamped the sentiments using black ink. TIP - To make it easy to layout the design I first stamped the flowers and leaves onto copier paper and loosely cut them out so I could decide on their placement.

When the ink was dry the stamped panel was attached to the front of a 5" x 7" top fold card blank. Using pink and lilac ink two of the larger flowers and two of the smaller flowers were stamped onto white card and fussy cut out. The flowers were then added to the card front using foam pads. One of the large flowers and one small were raised up higher than the other two by adding more foam pads, this was to give them extra dimension. To completed the card a few small gems and pearls were added.

Tip - If you find you get pooling with the stamps depending on the ink you use, rub them over with an eraser or with an light sandpaper like an emery board.

For my card this week I've used one of the super cute mice digi images, this one is called  'Love Tag' and the 'Special Friend' sentiment is from the Everyday Greetings set. Please note that the mice digi stamp is available to buy on its own, however in the rubber version the mice stamp and sentiment stamp are both part of the same set called 'Fluffy Birthday'. I measured the finished image panel so that it would fit my card front. Next I drew a line either side of the mice and cut this section off leaving a large area around the mice, then with a pair of scissors I fussy cut around them as well inside the tag area. Glitter was added to the patterned edge of the tag.

To finished the card I added the panel to the card front using foam pads.

Funky foam was glued to the back of the rectangle and attached to the card front.

I coloured the images with pencils and die cut it into a rectangle. The finished image was mounted onto a brown die cut rectangle and added to the card front using foam pads  A small die cut bunting  embellishment was added to the left hand side along with a red enamel dot.

To finish off my card, 2 die cut Easter eggs were added to the bottom right corner.
