Whimsy Inspiration Post - April Week 4

Hi guys 💜

Today it's my turn to share my latest Whimsy Stamps card with you, and I thought I would highlight the wonderful bunnie collection of digital stamps by Crissy Armstrong. I adore these little characters, and the benefit of being digital is that you can resize, rotation and flip the images. The technique I used was inspired by one of Jennifer McGuire's video tutorials about Scatter Stamping; in her tutorial she used clear acyclic stamps whereas I used digital stamps. I have to admit I'm pleased with the results and I hope you re too.

To create my card I used PowerPoint, which made it super easy to block colour the images as well as change their orientation etc. The non blue bunnie was coloured with Copic and Spectrum Noir pens.

All the links to the Whimsy products can be seen below. I hope you like it.

Here's What I Did (sorry this is quite a heavy instructional post)

Using PowerPoint firstly created a rectangle frame 5" x 7" with a dark outside line and a white centre (this will give you a guideline for placement). Inserted the bunnies one at a time then resized and rotated them. Place some of the bunnies so that parts of them fall outside of the frame.

The sentiment was firstly cropped back to only show the word 'Hello', then resized and added to the project using the same process as the bunnies.

Once everything is safely named and saved, select all of the bunnies apart from one.
This is how ----
  1. Click onto the 1st bunnie image, and then press and hold down the CTRL button and click onto the next bunnie and so on.
  2. Release the CTRL button and right click onto one of the selected bunnies and from the menu that will pop up left click onto 'Group' and from next pop up window slide across and select Group again.
  3. Next double click onto one of the selected bunnies and the Tool Bar will change to the Picture Tool (Format), now click the Color button. You will see there are lots of colour options, select the Blue bunnie to change the colour of all the selected bunnies. Click away from the image to change the toolbar back.
Click onto the rectangle frame and press delete to remove it. Print out the topper, then colour the one remaining bunnie with your alcohol pens.

To complete the card add a piece of black card to cover the front of a 5" x 7" top fold card. Trim the bunnie topper to size so that there will be a slim border around the edge, add it to the card front to finish.

Tips --
1 -- Make sure you name and save your project as soon as possible, and save regularly to avoid losing your work.
2 -- Why not colour each bunnie a different shade by simply double clicking onto each bunnie in turn and selecting the Color button and a shade of your choice.

Here's What I Used

Digital Sentiments: 'Say it Big'

For The Love Of Stamps By Hunkydory - June Launch

Hi everyone

Today I'm sharing my 10 projects for the June launch of the 'For The Love Of Stamps' By Hunkydory Design Team. The stamps were launch over the weekend on Create & Craft - you might have spotted some of my samples.

The whole stamp collection from 'For The Love Of Stamps' By Hunkydory is just vast  In this month's launch there are stamps and stencils ranging from Fairgrounds to Football...there's something for everyone. For my cards I used the 'Fairground Fun' and 'Aloha' stamp set and stencils, plus the 'Beside the Seaside' stamp set and stencil which comes free with magazine #5. I also used the Adorable Scorable - Matt-tastic which is beautiful cardstock in lots of amazing colours. You can buy the FTLOS stamps & stencils I used and the rest of the collection direct from Hunkydory or Create & Craft either individually or as a bundle.

Now I know I normally give written instructions for every project I make, but I've decided that on the FTLOS projects I won't be. I will be using so many different techniques, materials and mediums that it would make the post incredibly long (which it is already) and very time-consuming to write. So if you want to know anything about any of the cards I've made please, please either email me, or leave me a comment and your email address and I'll send you all the details. :) However I will still list the products use. WARNING - this post is picture heavy.

ALOHA!

For my card today I've chosen one of the May launch stamp sets from My Favorite Thing (MFT), it's called 'Mermazing'. I just think this set is absolutely gorgeous - the mermaids and little extras are so sweet. I used Brushos for the background and coloured all the images with Copics. Hope you like it.

Using different sized circle stamps I added bubbles using white paint, when everything was dry a sentiment was stamped with black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  the completed background was cut to size and added to the card front.

The mermaids, turtle and clown fish were stamped onto Neenah card and coloured using Copics, glitter pen were added to the mermaid's tails and tops. All the images were then cut out and added to the card front - some where glued flat and some were raised up using foam tape. To complete the card I added a few sequins.

Crafter's Companion Design Team - Glamour Collection Launch

Hi there

I thought you might like to see the cards I created for Crafter's Companion Main Design Team before I left. I designed them for Sara's Signature 'Glamour' Collection which was launched on Hochanda last week.

The first 5 were shown on several of the Hochanda shows by Sara, Debbie, Charlie and Hayley. I was as proud as punch :) I even had my camera out to take photos of the TV....sad I know (check the photos out below)! Lol

The collection is beautiful and fab for proms, weddings or just girlie cards. I have listed all the products I used along with the links to the store. I apologies in advance as this post is pretty picture heavy. I hope you like them though.

My Mum's Craft Shop Guest Designer Spot

Hello and good morning everyone ---

I'm here this morning feeling very excited, as I was asked to guest designer for My Mum's Craft Shop (MMCS) by Kitty, so of course I said yes. Woo hoo!
http://www.mymumscraftshop.co.uk/
For my 1st MMCS post I immediately chose a stamp from the Dreamerland Crafts range as they're so cute...I love the retro feel of them. The one I finally plumbed for is called 'Surrounded By Love, I adore the little puppies they're just so sweet. I used Spectrum Noir pens and Illustrator pens to colour with, some Echo Park patterned paper and a few MFT dies and stamps.  Thanks for looking 💖

Here's What I Did
I covered a 5" x 5" scalloped card blank with pretty patterned paper, leaving a slim border. Next I cut down a piece of strong white card and die cut a arch shaped in the centre and adding a stamped sentiment just below it.

Using the left over die cut arch clouds were added using a die cut cloud template and blue distressing ink. fancy circle from white card and 2 pieces of funky foam, these were all glued together to create a frame.

The image was stamped onto colouring card then coloured with alcohol pens. When the image was completed the top section was cut away, but making sure that a generous section was left on the bottom under the girl. The image was stamped again onto the same patterned paper I used previously, then pen was added to the dress and bow areas to create shade, then cut out. The two cut out pieces were paper pieced onto the coloured image and the whole image strip was glued behind the arched window.

The cloud arch was glued flat onto the card blank and the aperture panel containing the image was also added to the card front using foam tape. To complete the card, stamped and die cut paw prints were added along with a few enamel dots.

Here's What I Used
Stamps: Dreamerland Crafts 'Surrounded By Love', MFT 'BB You Have My Heart'
Dies: MFT 'BB You Have My Heart', MFT Die-namics 'Stitched Arch STAX', Lawn Fawn 'Puffy Clouds'

Crafter's Companion 'Inspirers' Design Team - Chick, Chick, Chicken

Hi there

I have another fabulous Crafter's Companion Design Team project to share with you. This time it's a stamped project using a cute image from Sheena Douglass aptly called 'Chick, Chick, Chicken and the brand new Spectrum Noir Illustrator pens.

When I chose this stamp to work on I'd already decided I wanted it in with shades of aqua and yellow as I wanted a fresh look to it. It's such a cute stamp, and perfect for Easter or anyone who lives on a farm...or maybe keeps chickens. Thanks for looking😃

Here's What I Did
I cut down a white card blank to create a 5½" x 7"card blank. Next I printed off a pretty blue patterned paper from the Crafter's Inspiration CD-Rom #11 and attached it to the card front.

The image was stamped onto a square piece of Neenah card and then onto a post-it note which I cut out to create a mask. Using distressing ink and a cloud template cut from thin card I coloured in the clouds. The images was coloured with Spectrum Noir Illustrator pens and a sentiment was stamped in the top right corner. When the image was completed I cut inverted rounded corners and mounted it onto complimentary card and attached it to the card front using foam tape.

The flower was created using flower layering die and then glued together, The fish tail banner was hand cut made from coloured card white card that was dry embossed using a border embossing folder. Both embellishment were glued in place onto the card front, then to finish off I added a large pearl to the flower centre.

Here's What I Used
Crafter's Companion Products - Sheena Douglass - A Little Bit Sketchy 'Chick, Chick, Chicken' Stamp Set,  Core'dinations 'Pastel' & 'Brights' Pad, Crafter's Inspiration Magazine Issue #11
Spectrum Noir Illustrator Pens - TN3, BO2, FS3, FS6, FS7, MB1, MB2, CT1, CT2, LG3, DG2, DG3, HB1, HB2, HB3, TB1, TB2, TB3, BT1, BT5, AB1, Crafter's Inspiration Magazine Freebies # 11, Sheena Douglass Stamping Card, Neenah Card

Other: Flower Die, 5½" x 7" Card Blank (cut down), Cloud Template, Pearl, Corner Rounder Punch, Tumbled Glass Distressing Ink, Black Pen, Foam Pads, Manual Die Cutting Machine

Tip: Create your own cloud template by overlayering circles and sticking them together, or glueing cloud die cut shapes together to create a cloud border.
