Whimsy Stamps DT Call Out Creation

Hi there

Well even though my mojo has taken a hit since losing my mum I decided to bite the bullet and try out for Whimsy Stamps DT Call Out. I adore their stamp range, I know I haven't used many in the past but it's purely been down to time and conflict of DT interest. Anyhow, I applied and I wanted to show you my entry.

Unfortunately I haven't been successful this time, but hopefully I will try again next year. You must check out their online shop. For those in the UK, Whimsy is an American company so you will need to take into account shipping and duty, however they do stock lots of fabulous digital stamps as well. They use lots of very talented designers so there's always something for everyone. Check them out here. They also have a fabulous inspiration blog with lots of wonderful ideas from the Design Team - you can find it here.

The stamp I used was one I won in a dear friend's blog competition last year. Thank you Wendy. x

So here was my entry for the 2017 Design Team.

I Did:
I sprinkled Brushos onto watercolour card and spritz it to create the background - I used blues, greens and yellows. When dry it was fixed the card base front.

The image was stamped onto Kraft card and coloured with pencils starting with a white pencil and building up colour. When completed it was cut to size and mounted onto a die cut cream pearlised card rectangle. The topper was added to the card front using foam pads. Using a banner die I created a double fishtail banner which I added to the front with a couple of pearls. To finish off I added crystal glitter to the fairy's wing.

I Used:
Stamp: Whimsy Stamp 'Fairy'
Paper & Card: Kraft Card, Watercolour Card, Cream Card, Cream Card Base (xxx)
Spectrum Noir Pencils: Skin - Linen, Peach, Saddle Brown, Cream, Cider / Hair - White, Daffodil, Bumblebee, Linen, Honey, Lemon / Dress - White, Denim Blue, Petrol Blue, Royal Blue /  Leaves - White, Shamrock,. Thank you for dropping by.

Hugs to you all, and to my American friends please keep safe.

For The Love Of Stamps By Hunkydory - June Launch

Hi everyone

Today I'm sharing my 10 projects for the June launch of the 'For The Love Of Stamps' By Hunkydory Design Team. The stamps were launch over the weekend on Create & Craft - you might have spotted some of my samples.

The whole stamp collection from 'For The Love Of Stamps' By Hunkydory is just vast  In this month's launch there are stamps and stencils ranging from Fairgrounds to Football...there's something for everyone. For my cards I used the 'Fairground Fun' and 'Aloha' stamp set and stencils, plus the 'Beside the Seaside' stamp set and stencil which comes free with magazine #5. I also used the Adorable Scorable - Matt-tastic which is beautiful cardstock in lots of amazing colours. You can buy the FTLOS stamps & stencils I used and the rest of the collection direct from Hunkydory or Create & Craft either individually or as a bundle.

Now I know I normally give written instructions for every project I make, but I've decided that on the FTLOS projects I won't be. I will be using so many different techniques, materials and mediums that it would make the post incredibly long (which it is already) and very time-consuming to write. So if you want to know anything about any of the cards I've made please, please either email me, or leave me a comment and your email address and I'll send you all the details. :) However I will still list the products use. WARNING - this post is picture heavy.

For The Love Of Stamps By Hunkydory - May Launch

Hi everyone

As they say, as one door closes another one opens. Well this was the case with me, I stepped down from the Crafter's Companion Design Team last month after a year on the team. Then a few days afterwards I received an email inviting me to join 'For The Love Of Stamps' By Hunkydory Design Team. The work will involve stamping and colouring which one of my favourite things to do.

I have just recently worked on a few projects for the May launch today on Create & Craft today and tomorrow, so definitely have a peek and see if you can spot them. There should've been more cards, but unfortunately my mum was rushed into hospital a week ago so my time has been limited.

For The Love Of Stamps By Hunkydory - have such a vast range of stamps now, and anything from flowers to fish, from veg to vans...well you get the idea. For my cards I used the 'Vegetable stamp set' and the Beautifully Bright Paper Pad. You can buy the stamps from Hunkydory or Create & Craft.

To make my card, I used DL card base which I matted with patterned paper. The word 'Just' was printed directly onto some white card and cut to size, then the word 'veg' was die cut from it. The word 'veg' was die cut letter from green glitter card and thin foam and glued together. I stamped a few of the vegetable onto colouring card and coloured using Copics.  The white 'Just Veg' topper was added to the card front along with the die cut letter and cut out vegetables. To finish off enamel dots were added.
To make my card, I used 6" x 6" square Kraft card base which I matted with patterned paper. I randomly stamped lots of the vegetables onto a cut down piece of Kraft card using brown ink, and coloured them with pencils. The sentiment was stamped in brown ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Everything was added to the card and to finish off enamel dots were added.

To make my card, I used 5" x 5" scalloped card base which I matted with black card and patterned paper. I die cut a pece of white card and some patterned paper into a square, then stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The tomatoes were stamped twice, coloured with Copics then cut out. Glitter was added to the tomatoes to add a sparkle. Everything was attached to the card front using foam pads. To finish off I added black enamel dots, sequins and gems.

Here is a picture of the 'Just Veg' on Create & Craft on this (Saturday) afternoon.

Hope you like them.

Big hugs

Crafter's Companion 'Inspirers' Design Team Project #1

Good morning everyone

Well I'm here today to share the 1st of my March Crafter's Companion Design Team projects with you. Today I'm showing off one of the new stamps from Sheena Douglass's new range Temptingly Tropical. This particular stamp set is called 'Love Birds' surprisingly enough :)
Aren't they just the sweetest things, personally I think they would be great for an anniversary or simply to 'say I' love you'.

I used Spectrum Noir Colourblend pencils on this cute twosome along with a little distressing ink for the background. This is a big stamp as are the rest of the new launch stamps from Sheena, so great value for money and definitely worth checking out. Thanks for looking 💚

Here's What I Did
I used an A5 card blank which I matted with green card, then die cut flourishes from glitter card which I added to each corner.  Next the image and sentiment were stamped directly onto white colouring card, and again onto a post-it note which was carefully cut out to create a mask.  Using the mask over the birds and branch the cloud effect was created using a die cut cloud border and blue distressing ink.

Using a photo for reference the birds were coloured using pencils once the sky was dry.  After punching the corners of the completed picture it was matted and layered onto dark green card, and then added to the card base using foam tape. To finish off I added a few gems to the flourished corners.

Here's What I Used
Crafter's Companion Products: Sheena Douglass Temptingly Tropical 'Love Birds', Sara Signature Collection - Butterfly Lullaby 'Fancy Flourishes', Spectrum Noir Colourblend Pencils (Saddle Brown, Russet, Avocado, Ivy, Shamrock, Peacock Green, Amazon Green, Pear Green, Daffodil, Bumblebee, Daisy, Honey, Saffron, Tangerine, Poppy, Seal Grey, Denim Blue)

Other: Green Card, Green Glitter Card, Gems, Cloud Template, Tumbled Glass Distressing Ink, Corner Rounder

Crafter's Companion 'Inspirers' Design Team - February Project #2

Good afternoon everyone

Well I'm here today to share the 2nd of my February Crafter's Companion Design Team projects with you, unfortunately there won't be a 3rd this month as I'm 'mummy sitting'. I'm looking after my  mum after heart surgery and can't access my crafty stuff. I did bring bits and bobs with me, but not enough to make full projects plus my time is limited.

Anyhow, on seeing these gorgeous stamps I had decided that I had to stamp and colour onto black card, and I definitely think it works .  Thanks for looking 💚

 Here's What I Did
Using matt black card I created a small side fold card. Next I cut down a piece of matt black card to size and stamped some of the flowers using Versamark ink and added clear embossing power over the top. and heat embossed it. I repeated the process by masking some of the flowers so that they would appear behind others. To make the masks I stamped the flowers onto the sticky edge of a post-it note and cut them out. When all of the flowers were added I painted them with white ink first, then when the ink was dry I coloured them with pencils. Next I stamped and embossed the sentiment with gold glitter embossing powder.

The completed panel was mounted onto the gold mirror card, and added to the card front using foam tape. To finish off I added white dots to the flowers and gold dots around the flower spray, along with a few glitter enamel dots.

Here's What I Used
Crafter's Companion Products Spectrum Noir Colorista Stamps - Element 1, Spectrum Noir ColourBlend Pencils Petal, Peony, Mulberry, Carnation, Duck Egg, Verdigris, Reef Blue, Daffodil, Bumblebee, Honey, Avocado, Grass, Peacock Green), Matt Black Card, Die'sire Sentimentals Stamp Set - Memories Are Made, Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Glitter Pen

(Please note that the Element 1 - Colorista stamps are currently out of stock but there are other fabulous stamps in this collection, and definitely worth checking out).

Other: Wow Gold Glitter Embossing Powder, Dew Drop Brilliance White Ink, Clear Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink, Post-It Note, Anti-static Bag, White Pen, Gold Pen, Gold Mirror Card, Glitter Dots.

Crafter's Companion 'Inspirer's Design Team - January Project #1

Good morning everyone

Well I'm here today to share the first of my January 2017 Crafter's Companion Design Team projects with you. I used the gorgeous Colorista stamps-Elements 1. These are so pretty and such a great size to colour in as they're not too big, and there's quite a few in the set. I'm so happy how they turned out on my Kraft card, all I did was some simple masking. I coloured all the flowers in with Spectrum Noir ColourBlend pencils using pencil & pencil blending technique...no solvent used.

I kept the card quite simple as I wanted to highlight the beautiful stamps. I'm definitely going to be making more cards using these little gems..so what this space. Thanks for looking 💚

Here's What I Did
I used a 5" x 5" Kraft card blank, Before sticking the little yellow card mat to the base card I die cut the word 'hello' and the large butterfly from it's centre.....this is called 'gutting'. As the centre of the yellow card mat won't be seen when the stamped Kraft is topper placed over the top it's a great way of utilising all of your card.

I cut a piece of Kraft card to size and stamped some of the flowers I wanted in the foreground onto it first. The same flowers were stamped again on to a large post-it note and cut out, then placed over the top of the flowers on my card.  I stamped a few more flowers and making sure I added more masks where required.

Tip: Remember when you plan your topper, think about what you want at the front and in the background. To add any image to your background always stamp your foreground images first and mask them, then stamp whatever you like in the background. Always try to remember perspective if you are creating scenic pictures.

I coloured the flowers in lightly with my pencils, and blended with another to add depth and shade. In some areas I lightly used a white pencil first then add my coloured pencil afterwards, this gave a much softer look. When everything was finish I added dots around the flowers and into the flowers using a Moonlight pen, which is creamy and fluorescent under certain light. The completed topper was added to the card base along with the die cut butterfly and sentiment which was mounted onto funky foam.

To finish off I attached a few punched out butterflies and a touch of glitter.

Here's What I Used
Crafter's Companion Products - Colorista Stamps - Elements 1, ColourBlend Pencils (White, Daffodil, Lemon, Avocado, grass, Amazon Green, Holly, Petal, Peony, Fuchsia, Nectarine, Honey, Cranberry, Verdigris, Reef Blue, Night Sky, Vivid Pink, Mauve, Blackberry), Core'dinations 'Pastel' Pad, Crafter's Companion Kraft Card, Diamond Press 'Hello & Butterflies' Dies

Other: Mini butterfly punch, Moonlight Pens, Glitter, Funky Foam

Sweet Stampin' Design Team - Anything But A Card

Hello and good morning everyone ---

Well it's Saturday and Sweet Stampintime - so I'm here to share my Design Team Challenge project with you. Our fab theme this week is 'Anything But A Card',  so for my project I decided to create a bookmark covered in cat...what could be better. The cats were randomly stamped onto watercolour card and coloured in with watercolour pens, then finished off with blending pencils. To add a little fun I added a dangling cat at the bottom.

Don't forgot to enter our challenge you must include a stamped element on your card/project, follow our theme and link back to the Sweet Stampin' blog for a chance to win a prize!

Here's What I Did
I cut down a piece of watercolour card to 5.5cm x 21cm, and randomly stamped the cats and accessories from the set all over it using brown ink. Next I coloured everything in with Zig Clean Color watercolour pens including the extra climbing cat for the bottom. When everything was dry I added extra details using blending pencils and Zest It blending solution. The complete topper was matted onto some brown card sandwiching the Bakers Twine between the layers.

To complete the bookmark I added the climbing cat to the end of the Bakers Twine so he would dangle, and then added a  touch of glitter here and there.

Here's What I Used
Stamp Set: MFT 'Cool Cats'
Paper & Cardstock (CS): Watercolour Card, Neenah CS, Brown CS
Zig Clean Color Pens: Beige, Flesh Colour, Dark Brown, Light Gray, Colbat Blue, Bright Yellow, Yellow, Light Pink, Pink, Pale Green
Other: Spectrum Noir Pencils, Zest It, Brown Memento Ink, Glitter, Bakers Twine

So why not drop by the Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog and check out what my fab Design Team girlies have made to inspire you. So come on why not join in with the fun and enter your card/project into our 'Wedding/Anniversary/Love' challenge we'd love to see your entries.
