Tiddly Inks Design Team Entry

Good afternoon everyone

I decided to enter the Tiddly Ink Design Team Call Out - I know get me!!  I love Tiddly Inks, the images are just sooo cute and there's loads of them to choose from. I'm determined to use more this year.

Anyhoo onto my Design Team entry card - I was spoilt for choice when deciding on the image I wanted to use, but in the end I chose the digital image of 'Annabelle and Puppy Love'. I just thought this was gorgeous, I just love her 2 little dogs and I immediately wanted to colour them. I decided to make a CAS card using one of my favourite colour combos - green and pink. :)

Here's What I Did
I printed my image and sentiment directly onto a piece of A4 card which I cut down to size, and then scored it to create my card base. I coloured my image with Copic pens and a clear Wink of Stella pen, and added a strip of patterned paper and a piece of ribbon to the top edge of the card.  To finish off I added a matching bow and punched out butterflies.

Here's what I Used
Digital Image: Annabelle and Puppy Love by Tiddly Inks
Copics: Skins - E000, E00, E11, R20 / Dress: R000, R00, R20, R22 / Hair & Ground - C0, C02, C03, C5, C7, 00 / Shoes, Bows and Belt - YG00, YG03, YG06 / Dogs - W0, W1, W2, W3, W5

Sweet Stampin' - Anything But A Card

Hello and good morning everyone ---

I've made my Sweet Stampin' Design Team project for you this week. Our theme is 'Anything But A Card' - and I have to admit to struggling with this one. Mind you it was mainly because I'm still getting over the effects  of the flu from last week. Anyhow, for my project I finally decided to make some flowers using my We R Memory Keepers Flower Punch Board which I've had for ages. But because we are a stamping challenge I stamped onto some of my card first before making my flowers to add a little interest.

Here's What I Did
I made the smallest (XXS) flowers possible on the We R Memory Keeper Flower Punch Board - these have a diameter of 3". For each of the cream flowers I cut a strip of cream cardstock to size and stamped each of them with a few different flower stamps and coloured them in with Prisma Pencils.  I punched out my cream flowers, assembled them and added them to the flower attachments and stalks. I then created a another 3 flowers from orange card stock.

To finish off  I added a touch of glitter to the cream flowers and I added enamel dots to all the centres.

Here's What I Used
Stamps: Hero Arts 'Dotted Flowers', Hunkydory 'Floral Chic'
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Cream CS, Orange CS
Prisma Pencils: Canary Yellow, Sunburst Yellow, Orange, Process Red, Limepeel
Other: We R Memory Keepers Flower Punch Board, Flower Accessory Pack, Glitter
So why not drop by the Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog and check out what my fab Design Team girlies have made to inspire you. So come on why not join in with the fun and enter your card/project into our 'Anything But A Card' challenge we'd love to see your entries.

Sugar Nellie - Gorjuss Girl

Good morning sugar fans!

Wow, I can't believe it, another Wednesday is here. Sadly I've lost a week due to a bout of flu, followed by a cold, then a poorly stomach and finally a cold sore with swollen glands. Yep, I've officially been in the wars. Basically I've not been outside for over a week, spending most of it in bed or laying on my sofa. Although I do have health conditions I'm not normally ill with anything (if you know what I mean), and I always get my flu jab - so where the heck this came from I really don't know. I just wish it would clear off now ;p

Anyhow onto something more cheerful, it's time to share my Sugar Nellie Design Team card with you today. I thought I would use another Gorjuss girl stamp, and this one is called 'You Brought Me Love', and again I used one of my fav colour combos - green and lilac.  Funkykits (the home of Sugar Nellie) have a great collection of both new and old Gorjuss Girl stamps.

Remember we still have a few days left of our 'Gorjuss Party Launch' competition on the Sugar Nellie blog - to enter you must include a Gorjuss stamp (new or old) on your card or project and enter it at the linky on the blog page.

Here's What I Did
I started with a white shaped card base which I matted with LOTV patterned paper edged with distressing ink. I stamped the Gorjuss girl onto watercolour card (I masked of the little squirrel and leaves), then using distressing inks and watercolouring pencils (from WH Smiths) I coloured both her and the background in, this was then die cut it into an oval. I die cut another oval in lilac card and one white fancy edged oval in white card. All the ovals were then attached to my finished Gorjuss topper and added to my card base. To finish off I added some die cut flowers and a few punched out butterflies.
Here's What I Used
Stamp: 'You Brought Me Love' Gorjuss Girl Stamp available from Funkykits,
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Crafters Companion Watercolour CS, Lilac, Green & White CS, Lili Of the Valley (LOTV) 'Promises' Paper Pad, Yellow Glitter CS

Inky Chicks Challenge - Stitching (Real or Faux)

Good evening everyone!

I'm writing this on Easter Sunday and wow what a beautiful spring day it's been - sun shining, kids playing outside, birds chirping away. Just fabulous! Let's hope it's here to stay :)

Anyhow I'm here to share my last Inky Chicks Design Team card with you, as I've decided to step down from the Team. They are a lovely bunch of ladies and it's been an absolute pleasure working with them. Well talk about 'going out' in style - or maybe not!! Our theme this week is Stitching (Real or Faux) with a vintage feel.  Erm, as a rule I don't do vintage, I don't do real sewing (unless I'm repairing clothes) and I definitely don't do shabby chic - but I thought in for a 'penny in for pound' as they say. So I hope you like it because my blood, sweat and tears went into making it----lol, not really! But I do hope you like it anyway :)

Here's What I did
I used a 5" x 7" scalloped card base. I scuffed up the edges of some patterned paper (PP) with a distressing tool and added faux stitching along the edges with a Fineliner pen, and glued it onto my card base.

I then cut out a slight small piece of PP in a lighter shade and a fish tail banner from the peach PP. To add more texture I dragged out my sewing machine and physically stitched around the edges of both pieces, then distressed and tore the edges. I punched out a border strip from white card and taped it along the side of the lighter PP and glued both pieces onto the card base.

The swirls and all of the flowers were die cut and created by me, apart from the tiny cream ones. The large central flower was die cut from cream card and inked up to give it a peachy appearance, and a large pearl bead was glued into the centre. To finish off I added a lace ribbon and a few pearls around the flowers.

Here's everything I used:
Paper/Cardstock (CS): White, Cream, Green, Pink and Deep Pink CS, Lili Of The Valley (LOTV) 'Country Meadow' Paper Pad
Dies: Tim Holtz Sizzix 'Tattered Florals', Britannia 'Multi Rose', Cheery Lynn Designs 'Fanciful Flourish'
Other: Sewing Machine, Distressing Ink 'Tattered Rose', Black Fineliner, Pearls, Tonic Border Punch, Beads, Tiny Cream Flowers, Cream Lace, Wire, TH Distressing tool

So why not drop by the Inky Chicks Challenge blog, and check out what my fab Design Team girlies have made to inspire you. So come on why not join in with the fun and enter your card/project into our 'Stitching - Real or Faux' challenge this week..

This week's sponsor and prize is from Live & Love Crafts

I look forward to seeing what you create.

There's 2 cards today - Gorjuss card & Sweet Stampin' card below it

Gorjuss 2000 Party - Stamp Launch

Welcome To Our Gorjuss Party!!

To celebrate the launch of the brand new Gorjuss stamp sets, Sugar Nellie is having a competition over on the Sugar Nellie blog. To enter simply make a card/project using ANY of the Gorjuss stamps - it can be made using one of the new stamps or one you already have in your stash. However, if you don't have any of the Gorjuss stamps at all or would like to use one of the new stamp sets you can buy them from Funkykits (home of Sugar Nellie) - simply click onto the banner below:

http://www.funkykits.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=173&sort=3a&page=3

To get you in the 'gorjuss' mood I've created this little cutie for my DT card. The stamp is called 'I Found My Family In A Book' and she's available to buy from Funkykits. The stamp sets are all very deeply etched and stamp beautifully, plus the Gorjuss girls are always a generous size which is perfect for colouring. To colour my image I used Derwent Inktense (watercolour) pencils and a few Copic pens.

Here's What I Did
I started with a 5" x 7" white card base which I matted with deep pink card. I stamped my image onto watercolour card and used Inktense (watercolour) pencils to colour it in with. I stamped the paper doll section of the girl and her book onto an old book page and coloured with Copic pens to give an aged look, these were then cut out and glued into place on the main image.

The completed topper was added to the card base along with a matching deep pink strip that I matted with the same book paper as before. To finish off I added a red felt flower and some sequins.

Here's What I Used
Stamp: Gorjuss Girl Stamp Set 'I Found My Family In A Book' available from Funkykits,
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Deep Pink CS, Crafters Companion Watercolour CS
Inktense Pencils & Copics: Skin - Baked Earth, Cadmium Pink - E00 / Hair - Tan, Mustard, Saddle Brown, Sienna Gold, Madder Brown, Bark - E00, E35 / Dress - Cadmium Pink, Scarlet Pink, Madder Brown / Boots - Tan, Baked Earth, Scarlet Pink - E31, E33 / Tights - Cadmium Pink, Sienna Gold/ Ground - Neutral Grey, Sepia Ink / Scissors - Neutral Grey, Sepia Ink
Copic Pens (Only): Book & Paper Dolls - E33, E50 & E51
Other: Sequins, Felt Flower, Old Book, Wink Of Stella 'Clear', White Copic Ink

Although we're not having a blog hop today, you can still see more Gorjuss girl creations made for today's launch by my fellow teamies on the Sugar Nellie blog.

I look forward to seeing you soon.

Sweet Stampin' - Paper Pieced

Hello and good morning everyone ---

As I'm writing this, the wind has dropped and the sun is shining and there's not a drop of rain to be seen. Yay - maybe spring has finally emerged!! So inspired by impending springtime - I've made my Sweet Stampin' Design Team card for you this week. Our theme is 'Paper Piecing' - and I decided to create a spring scene. Paper Piecing is such a lovely thing to do and a great way to use your stamps and patterned papers.

For my card I used a My Favourite Thing (MFT) stamp and co-ordinating die, and paper pieced it. For those crafters who aren't familiar with 'paper piecing', basically you stamp your main image onto white or coloured cardstock and again onto your patterned papers. All the elements are then cut out and glued into place onto the main stamped piece. What could be easier!!! It gives your stamps a whole new lease of life. For my card I paper pieced her dress, shoes and kite, whereas the rest of the elements were simply stamped, cut out and added.

Here's What I Did
I used a 5" x 7" white card base which I matted with a yellow rectangular piece of card, I then die cut 4 stitched rectangles of card in blue, green and white vellum. To create my background the white vellum and 2 green rectangles where then die cut again using the stitched hillside border die (so they would look like sloping hills) and layered up onto the blue card. I added a die cut sun, and a stamped and die cut cloud and bird which I coloured with Copic markers.

The little girl and kite were stamped firstly onto white card and then onto some pattered papers, all of which were then die cut. I coloured the girl's face, legs and arms with Copic pens and glued the die cut patterned paper pieces onto her dress and shoes, and to finish off I added glitter to the heart on her hair.

The kite was stamped onto pink card and again onto 2 different patterned papers, die cut, then glued into place. The kite tail was stamped onto white card and coloured with Copics and die cut out.

To complete my card I added all the elements to the background scene, stamped a sentiment at the base of the card and glued die cut sequins around it.

Here's What I Used
Die & Stamp Sets:  Lawn Fawn 'Sunny Skies', MFT 'Pure Innocence Sending  Big Hugs', Sizzix 'Hello'
Dies Only: Lawn Fawn 'Small Stitched Rectangles', Lawn Fawn 'Large Stitched Circles Stackables', Lawn Fawn 'Stitched Hillside', MFT 'Sequins'
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Blue, Green, Yellow, Pink, White CS, LOTV/Nitwit Patterned Papper Pad 'Country Meadow', White Vellum, Metallic CS
Copics: Skin - E0000, E00, E11, R20 / Hair - YR000, YR00, E13, E99 / Heart - R20, R22 / Cloud - C1
Other: Sequins, Foam Tape, Glitter, Bakers Twine

So why not drop by the Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog and check out what my fab Design Team girlies have made to inspire you. So come on why not join in with the fun and enter your card/project into our 'Paper Pieced' challenge we'd love to see your entries.

REMEMBER you must include a stamped element on your card, follow our theme and link back to the Sweet Stampin' blog for a chance to win a prize!  Have fun and good luck.

Sugar Nellie - Live Love Laugh

Good morning sugar fans!

OMG it's April!!!! Where the heck did March go to?

Well another Wednesday has flown by and it's Sugar Nellie time. I'm writing my post early - on Sunday to be exact, because my gorgeous daughter is home for a few days. The last time I saw her was for a one day visit on Christmas Day. My hubbie drove down on Christmas Eve from the NE of England to London to collect her, and then we drove her back on Boxing Day as she had work commitments. Her visit was way too short which made us all really sad! So we are going to make up for it while she's here - and spoil her rotten.

Anyhoo I digest, here's my Sugar Nellie Design Team card for you today using one of my favourite fairy stamps called 'Live Laugh Love '; she's available to buy in digital format from Funkykits (the home of Sugar Nellie). I used my Copic pens to colour her in with, and then teamed her up with a pretty patterned paper, sequins and a few gems.

http://www.funkykits.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=2202
Here's What I Did
Using CraftArtist 2 I printed the sentiment and image directly onto an A4 sheet of colouring cardstock, which I cut down and folded in half. I coloured the image in with Copic pens and added glitter to her wings. Using some (Lili Of The Valley) LOTV patterned paper I added a strip to both the top and bottom of the card, which I then trimmed it with complimentary ribbon and a slither of teal card. To finish off I added a flower, gems and a few sequins.

I created the new Sugar Nellie watermark badge for all the Design Team members - I hope you like it!

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp: 'Live Laugh Love' available from Funkykits
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Neenah CS, LOTV 'Promises', Teal CS, Lilac CS
Copics: Skin - E000, E00, E11, E13, R20, BV00 / Hair - YR0000, YR000, YR00, E13, E35, E37 / Dress & Shoes - BG10, BG 13, BG15, BG23, BG49 / Flowers - BV000, BV00, BV02, BV04 / Wings - B0000, RV00, RV02, 0
Dies: MFT Die-namic 'Flower & Leaves Trio'
Other: Sequins, Glitter, Gems, Ribbon, CraftArtist 2, Yellow Sakura Moonlight Pen
