My Right Foot

Well I'm 2 weeks on from my initial foot surgery. It's been wrapped up all week, but not has heavily as it was....thankfully.
My poorly right foot looks so much bigger than my left
This is my gorgeous surgical shoe
I went along this afternoon to get my stitches out, and ouch!! It's still quite battered and bruised and still hurts like hell. I've now got a much smaller dressing on which doesn't give me much protection so I'm still wearing my gorgeous surgical shoe. If anything I can't seem to get my foot warm so it's wrapped up in my blankie at the mo. The upside is I still have 4 weeks to recoup, which will give me time to learn to walk properly again....no more hopping for me.

Anyway back to crafting.....hopefully I'll be uploading some cards very soon, that is when I can manage to craft with my foot up in the air.  But if I've no cards ready I'll upload some stamped images I've recently done using my Copic pens, as I've been busy practising my colouring techniques trying to improve it - well that's the theory .

My foot and I say bye for now and thanks for visiting.

Valentine's Day Card

I made this cutie for my hubbie for Valentine's Day.  The digi image 'You Stole My Heart' was a freebie from Mo Manning (thanks Mo you're an angel...and an extremely talented lady).

I digi stamped the image 3 times into Serif Craftartist 2, printed them, and coloured with Copics.  I then cut out different portions of the image to 3D it.  The base card with the grunged frame, hearts and sentiment were created using Craftartist 2, then printed onto Neenah card.

Here's what I used:
Card: White Neenah, Red and Black CS and a scallop card base.
Software: Serif Craftartist 2
Copics: C0, C1, C2, C3, C5, C7, R17, R27, R59, E000, E00, E02

Thanks for visiting.....why not leave me a comment.

Come back soon.

Well its rest for me now

Well that's my foot surgery over and done with, thank god. I have to admit I was pretty terrified on Monday morning. I was in hospital for 7.45am and in the recovery suite by 9.30am....impressive.  I want to sent my thanks to a fantastic team at Tees Valley One Life Centre, Middlesbrough.  So my foot is now heavily bandaged for a week, then they will reduced some of the padding, and another week after that the stitches will come out.  So now it's time to sit back and be waited on by my hubbie and my sweet daughter I have my bell at the ready), and oh yes do a wee bit of crafting, reading and playing on my laptop for 6 weeks minimum....fun eh!  My only problem is getting around the house particularly the loo, I thought I'd be able to at least hobble from place to place...but no.  I can't even put any weight on my heel - so I'm hopping everywhere and stand on one leg with the use of my stick.  To make my life slightly easier we've placed chairs in strategic places around the house so I can hop and sit, hop and sit which at least makes me be a bit more independent plus it's REALLY exhausting.  However, I have to admit it must be hilarious to watch a 50 something yo woman hopping around the house with a blue surgical shoe on one foot and a white stocking on the other.

Anyway moan over with now.

I'll be uploading a card later today that I made for my hubbie for Valentine's Day.

Thanks for visiting.

Lazy Kitty

Made this cute 8 x 8 card for my sister-in-law. I stamped and coloured on one layer to keep it CAS, which is become a habit of mine lately.  The layout and design work was done using Serif Craftartist 2 - which I love and use all the time.  I designed the layout so I could leave a space so I could stamp the cat and barrow image.  I tried it out on scrap paper first then onto Neenah card when I was happy with the layout.
Stuff I used:
Cardstock: Neenah white card, orange bazzill, First Edition 'Blank Canvas', white scallop base card
Stamp: Hunkydory 'Kitty in the flowers'
Ink: Memento Black
Copics: E000, E00, E02, E04, E51, E21, E35, E18, YR04, YR07, YR15, YR16, Y00, Y04, Y35, Y38, YG11, YG17, C2, C1, C3, C5, 0
Serif Craftartist 2, Clear Glitter

When is Silver not Silver

Made this 8 x 8 card for my sister and brother-in-law's 25th Wedding Anniversary.  They don't like 'cute' and didn't want the traditional silver either.  So I came up with this card - cute owls, both  have been paper pieced and layered up to give a 3d feel.  They are sooooo cute, I love them.

Die cut/Punch:  Owls
Paper: First Edition 'Blank Canvas'
Punch and Cricut machine

Hope You like it.

Hi everyone

I've just read in my crafting magazine that there's going to be a Paper and Craft Show being hosted in Eston Sports Academy on Sunday 10th Feb from 10am - 3pm, and the cost is £2 per person. So if you live in the Middlesbrough area or in the North East it might be worth going along.

It list some of the exhibitors that attend the majority of the shows on their website, and these include: Stampin Up, Peerless Designs, Splodge Away, Brambles Crafts etc.

ALSO: I'm trying to start a craft club in Eston/Normanby, Middlesbrough once a month (Saturday 10am-3pm), the cost will be to pay for the hall only and refreshments (TBA).  For more info just leave me a comment with your email address and I'll get back to you.

Hope to see you at the show - I'll wear a red rose so you can identify me......only joking!

The Stamp Basket

Wow, my Bella with Wand card (shown below) is featured on The Stamp Basket blog thanks to a lovely lady called Janet.

After buying the stamp to make my daughter's Christmas card from the online shop I promised her that I would send a picture of it when I'd finished it. Janet loved the card and asked if she could show it on their blog, obviously I said YES.  To read the article click here.

I was really touched by her kind words, and I must admit I walked around the house with a smile on my face for an hour lol! Even my hubbie and daughter were impressed.

So thank you Janet and The Stamp Basket - you made my day!
