Craftsulove Design Team - July Card and Tutorial

Hi guys💙

I'm back with another card and tutorial using products available in the Craftsulove online store. This time I'm using some fabulous papers by BoBunny to create a DL card, the papers are from their Early Bird Collection which are absolutely gorgeous.

For my card I used 'Notes' which has a script print on one side and a pretty mandala style pattern on the reverse, and 'Time Flies' which has beautiful text panels on one side which you can cut up and use as toppers, and on the reverse it's a lovely distressed blue striped paper. To add a little extra interest I also used 3 banner dies which have a pretty stitched detail around the edge.

YOU WILL NEED

(Products available from Craftsulove):
12” x 12" Early Bird Collection by BoBunny - ‘Notes’ Notes
12” x 12" Early Bird Collection by BoBunny - Times Flies Paper
'Girl Assortment' Matt Enamel Stickers from Doodlebug Designs Inc
Paper Rose ‘Banner’ Dies

From My Own Stash:
Strong White Card
Blue Card
Turquoise Card
Silver Mirror card
Double Sided Tape
Foam Pads

 1. Trim a piece of white card to 8” x 8” and score at 4”, then fold in half to create a DL card.

2. From the ‘Notes’ paper trim a piece 4” x 8” and cover the front of the DL card.

3. Cut out the panel ‘Good Things Take Time.’ from the ‘Time Flies’ 12” x 12” paper. Mount this onto a piece blue card and then onto silver mirror card leaving a slim border on each to create a topper.

4. Using the banner die set - cut 1 banner from turquoise card using the largest die (5th), cut 1 banner from the ‘Notes’ paper using the 3rd die, and lastly cut 1 banner from the ‘Times Flies’ paper using the 2nd die.

5. Layer up the banners and stick them together, then trim off any overhang.

6. Glue the banners flat to the card front.

7. Add foam pads to the back of the topper, and attach this over the top section of the banners. To complete the card add an enamel stickers on the topper in each of the mandala centres, and one at the top of the smallest banner.

Whimsy Inspiration - July Week 5

Hi there guys 💜

Today it's my turn to share another Whimsy card highlighting one of our stamps. So for this card I've again chosen one of the new release rubber stamp for July, and is available in the Whimsy Store.

I decided to cool myself down and create a Christmas card...and yes I did use the 'C' word. Sorry!!!The beautiful stamp I used is called 'Watching For Santa' and I was drawn by one of my wonderful friends Crissy Armstrong. Isn't this the most beautiful angelic scene.  I coloured the image using Copic pens and took the colour palette from the patterned paper I used as I wanted to create a vintage look. I hope you like it. x

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
First I trimmed a piece of pretty patterned paper to cover card front leaving a slim border around the sides. Then I stamped and coloured the gorgeous Christmas image with Copic pens, once finished I die cut it into a rectangle and mounted it onto pink and green card, then onto the card front using foam pads.

To bring the card together I die cut a poinsettia and some holly from the same pink and green card used to mount the topper. To finish the card I added a die cut sentiment from the same pink card and mounted it onto funky foam add dimension.

Here's What I Used
Rubber Stamp: Watching For Santa

Other: A5 White Scalloped Card Blank, Pink Card, Green Card, Neenah Card, Copic Pens, Stitched Rectangle  Die (Crealies), Poinsettia Die (Sizzix), Merry & Bright Die (XCut), Holly Branch (Marianne Design), Woodland Kisses Paper Pad (LOTV), Gem, Gold Pen

Whimsy Inspiration - July Week 4

Hi everyone ðŸ’œ

Today I'd love to share my latest card. It's a new release rubber stamp for July, and is available in the Whimsy Store.

The stamp is called 'Faye The Fairy' and it's by a fabulous artist called Marina Fedotova. Isn't she simply beautiful.  I coloured her using my Copic pens but kept to the same tones to give a monochromatic look. To finish I add a little sparkle to her wings. I hope you like it. x

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
First I trimmed a piece of light brown card to fit the card front, then cover it with pretty patterned paper leaving a slim border around the sides.

I stamped and coloured the fairy with Copic pens but I used shades from the same family for a monochromatic look. The finished image was die cut into a circle, and ink was applied to the edges. Crystal glitter was added to the fairy wings, flowers and butterflies and then attached to a die cut circle cut from the same light brown card.

The topper was fixed to the card front using foam pads, and to complete the card I added a few gems to the front.

Here's What I Used
Rubber Stamp: Faye the Fairy

Other: 6" x 6" White Card Blank, Light Brown Card, Neenah Card, Copic Pens, Pearl Circle Dies(Tattered Lace), Double Dots Circle Die (Crealies), Warm Cocoa Colour Cloud (Cosmic Shimmer),Paper (my own stash), Gem, Crystal Glitter, Foam pads

Craftsulove Design Team - July Card #1

Morning everyone 💜

Today I'm sharing my 1st of my July's Craftulove Design Team card with you.

So for this one I'm using some beautiful 12" x 12" double sided papers by BoBunny from their 'Early Bird' collection which is new in store. I have used 'Songbird' to cover the front of my card and a topper cut from the 'Time Flies' paper. The 'Time Flies' paper has 12 beautiful panels on it which you can cut out and use as toppers. These papers are just gorgeous. x

All the links to the specific Craftuslove products can be found below, and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
To create my card, I covered the front with a trimmed down piece of the 'Songbird' paper, leaving a white boarder around the edge. I cut out topper from the 'Times Flies' sheet and matted this onto a piece of deep orange card, then mounted it onto the card front using foam pads. I added a little glitter to the word 'beautiful'.

Using another of the toppers I cut out 2 of the butterflies and applied glitter to the wings, then glued them in different directions onto the 'beautiful' topper.

To complete the card, I added a 3 orange enamel dots to the bottom right corner.

Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Week 2

Hi everyone ðŸ’œ

Today I'm sharing a sweet digital stamp which is simply brilliant for the fishing person in your family. This beautifully drawn image is by the lovely Crissy Armstrong, and it's called 'Penguin Fishing'.

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
The image was resized and printed directly onto colouring cardstock, then coloured with Copic pens and the sky was created using blue ink, sponge and a cloud template.

An oval aperture was cut into the centre of a card blank front and into a piece of trimmed down blue card. The blue card was then attached to the card front. A frame was created by cutting a scalloped oval slightly larger than the aperture from white card, then using the same die that cut the card front aperture, cut inside it. Glue the frame around the aperture.

The coloured topper was attached to the inside front of the card blank using foam pads, then the back of card blank was glued shut. A stand was attached to the back of the card blank to enable it to stand upright

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp:  'Penguin Fishing'

Other:  5" x 7" Top Fold Card Blank. Blue Card, White Card, Orange Card, Neenah Card,  Oval and Scalloped Oval Layering Dies (Tonic), Embellishment Dies (Tattered Lace), Copic Pens,  Foam Pads, Colour Cloud Ink (Cosmic Shimmer - Summer Sky), Cloud Template (MFT), White Pen, Black Fineliner Pen, White Enamel Dots, Mini Heart Die (XCut)

Whimsy Stamps - July New Release #1

Afternoon peeps ðŸ’œ

Oh wow, where has this year gone....it's seems to be be going by so quickly! On a good note it's the 1st of July....and it's new release day at Whimsy Stamps. So today I'm here to share one of the fabulous new digital stamps that's available in store - so for my card I've used Penguin Campfire drawn by one of my lovely friends, Crissy Armstrong. Isn't he the cutest penguin ever! I've team the stamp up with a digital sentiment and paper from a previous release, then everything was coloured up with Copics.

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
I trimmed a piece of green card to 6½" x 6½" and a piece of navy card to 6¼" x 6¼" and attached them to the card front. Using my graphics software (I used MS PowerPoint) I imported my digital paper, then the sentiment which was recoloured white. The penguin stamp was imported over the top and resized accordingly. This was printed straight onto colouring card and trimmed to 6" x 6".

The penguin stamp was coloured using Copic pens, and then the completed topper was attached to the card front.

Please note - I did remove the white background from the digital stamp in a graphics program first.  However, you could achieve the same look by printing and cutting out the image, then layering it over the top of the printed out paper.

Here's What I Used
New Release Digital Stamp: Penguin Campfire
Digital Paper: Starry Night
Sentiment: Say Cheese

Other: 7" x 7" White Card Blank, Navy Blue Card, Green Card, Copic Pens, Neenah Colouring Card, PowerPoint; Printer, Serif CraftArtist

Copics: Penguin - C1, C3, C5, BV29, W0, W1, Y02, Y08, Y17 / Penguin Glow - Y00, YR00 /  Fire - Y000, Y00, YR07, YR15 / Jacket - YG01, YG03, YG17 / Logs - E31, E33, E35, E37, Y00, Y08, YR00 / Stones - W1, W3, W5, Y00, Y02, YR00 / Marshmallow - RV10, RV28, Y00 / Stick - E33, E37, Y00, Y02
