Craftsulove Design Team - June #2 Magic Slider Card Tutorial

Hi there ðŸ’œ

Today I'm sharing a tutorial I created for the Craftulove Design Team. I was lucky enough to receive a brilliant Magic Stamping Card Die Set by Nellie Snellen to create a magic card. It was a bit of a learning curve for myself as I've never made one of these cards before.  I apologies for the length of the tutorial but I have included photos and a little video too. I hope you enjoy it and find it useful.  If you have any question please leave a comment and your email address, alternatively I will reply on here.

All the links to the specific Craftuslove products can be found below, and the link to the general store is here.

Product available from Craftsulove
Die: Magic Stamping Card Die Set - Heart from Nellie Snellen
Stamp: Wild For You from Lawn Fawn
Paper Pad: Itsy Bitsy Polka Dot Pastel Paper Pad from My Favorite Thing (MFT)
Embellishments: 'Girl Assortment' Matt Enamel Stickers from Doodlebug Designs Inc
Ink: 'Tuxedo Black' Memento, Black Versafine, Tea Dye Distressing Ink, Stazon Black Ink
Tools: Misti Stamping Tool
Orange Card
White Card
Acetate
15cm x 15cm Card Blank
Alcohol Pens
Narrow Double Sided Tape (NDST)
Red Liner Tape
Black Fineliner Pen

Tutorial
1. Trim a piece of white card to 26cm x 10.5cm and mark at 13cm on both sides. Place the long thin cutting die across the centre of the card at the 13cm point. Run through a die cutting machine to create the slider mount card. Remove the die and fold the card in half.
2. Using the ‘U’ shape die and ‘T’ shaped divider die, cut the shapes from the same white card.
3. Turn your slider mount card horizontally, and mark the front of the card at 6.5cm top and bottom and lightly draw a pencil line. Line the top and bottom of the heart die in the centre of the drawn line, and then run it through a die cutting machine.
4. Using NDST adhere the ‘U’ shape die cut to the inside back of the slider mount card (you may need to trim a little of each leg).

5. Place the slider mount card closed inside the Misti. Position the lion and butterfly stamp within the centre of the heart aperture. Close and press down the lid so that the stamps stick to it. Remove the slider mount card and replace it with white card. Ink up the stamps with Memento ink and stamp (do not remove the stamps from the Misti).

6. Without removing the stamps from the Misti, place a piece of acetate 9cm x 11cm inside, and stamp the images again using Stazon ink. Take care not to smudge the images.

 7. Open the slider mount card flat and place a piece of patterned paper 10cm x 12.5cm face down on the aperture and centre it. Carefully close the card and turn it over. Insert the heart die in the aperture and trace around the inside of the heart with a pencil. Remove the die and the paper. Line up the heart shaped die with the pencil mark on the patterned paper, and run it through the die cutting machine.
8. Colour the stamped images and when finished stick the card inside the ‘U’ shaped die cut on the inside of the slider mount card.

9. Insert the T’ divider die cut through the slit in the centre of the slider mount card, then pull it all the way to the end to reveal the image. Add NDST to the 3 sides the ‘U shaped die cut and adhere the card front to it. Next add NDST around the card front of the slider mount card and marry up the coloured in image with the acetate image, and stick it down.

10. Stamp a sentiment onto the patterned paper and attach it to the front of the slider card so that both heart apertures line up. Attach a thin piece of ribbon to the pull slot in the divider card.
11. Cut a piece of orange card to 15cm x 15cm and randomly stamp the animals with distressing ink to create a background. When everything is dry adhere this to the front of a 15cm x 15cm card base. Attach the completed slider mount card using red liner tape or strong glue along with. To finish the card add 3 enamel stickers to the card front.

Whimsy Inspiration - June Week 5

Afternoon everyone ðŸ’œ

Today I'm sharing an absolutely gorgeous rubber stamp called 'Mazarine  Butterfly Fairy'. The stamp is deeply etched rubber mounted on cling cushion foam, and it's available from the Whimsy Store.

I coloured this cutie using my Copic pens and kept the palette to 2 colours - lilac and aqua to tie in with the pretty patterned paper from my own stash. I hope you like it. x

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
First I trimmed a piece of pretty patterned paper to fit my 6" x 6" scalloped card blank, but before sticking it to my card I added a piece of vellum 6½" x 4" to the card front. To attach the vellum I scored ¼" at both end and folded it over the patterned paper and secured it. The paper was then added to the card front. To ensure the vellum would lay flat again the card front I added a few dots of glue underneath where I knew the topper would sit.

The fairy was stamped onto colouring card, and coloured using alcohol pens then die cut into an oval. The topper was added to a slightly larger oval cut from lilac card. I added glitter to the fairy's wing and hairband, when everything was dry the topper was attached to the card front using foam pads.

To completed my card I added die cut flowers and leaves plus a sentiment cut from purple glitter card.

Here's What I Used
Rubber Stamp: Mazarine Butterfly Fairy

Other:  6" x 6" Scalloped Card Blank. Lilac Card, Aqua Card, Neenah Card, Purple Glitter Card, Home Sweet Home Dies (Tonic), Petal Posy Dies (XCut), Branches Dies (The Works), Flower & Leaf Trio (MFT), Gerber Daisy (MFT), Embellishment Dies (Tattered Lace), Copic Pens,  Crystal Glitter, Foam Pads, Colour Cloud Ink (Cosmic Shimmer - Violet Haze), Frosty Sparkle Kiss (Creative Expressions), Promises Paper Pad (LOTV)

Whimsy Inspiration - June Week 4

Hi everyone ðŸ’œ

Today I'd love to share this gorgeous little kitty drawn by the Crissy Armstrong. It's a digital stamp and is available in the digital section of the Whimsy Store.

The stamp is called 'Kitty Ballerina' and I coloured it using my Copic pens, I added a little sparkle to her tutu with some crystal glitter. I hope you like it. x

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
First I trimmed a piece of pretty patterned paper to fit the card front, then die cut a large star into the centre of the paper. I glue a piece of pale complimentary pink paper in the centre of the card front and then attached the die cut star paper directly over the top.

I die cut another heart from pink card using the large die again, next I die cut inside the heart using a slightly smaller heart die to create a frame. The frame was glued inside the star aperture on the card front.

The Kitty Ballerina image was resized to 3.5" high (using PowerPoint software), and printed onto colouring card. The image was coloured using Copic pens and fussy cut out. Glitter was added to the kitty's tutu and then added to the centre of the star using foam pads.

The complete the card I added a die cut sentiment and a few enamel dots to the front of the card..

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp: Kitty Ballerina

Other: 6" x 6" White Scalloped Card Blank, Pink Card, Neenah Card, Copic Pens, Heart Dies (Sizzix), 'Make a Wish' Die (Make & Cut), Crystal Glitter, Foam Pads,  'Romance & Roses' Paper Pad (LOTV), Enamel Dots, Gem

Here's What I Did
I covered the front and base of a pre-scored easel card with black and white striped paper to reflect the gorgeous zebra by Crissy Armstrong.  Next I re-sized the image then printed it onto colouring card and die cut it into a circle. I printed the zebra, bird and flower again on to scrap paper and cut them out, I used this to create a mask. Using the mask I covered all the main features and added the cloud using ink and a cloud template (my favourite thing to do). When the sky was dry I coloured the image with Copic pens and added it to a die cut black circle which was then glued on the front of the easel card.

The word 'hello' was printed onto white card and die cut with a label die, this was matted onto a slightly larger label cut from black card - this was used as the easel card stopper.

To echo the red flower in the image, red die cut flowers with gems in the centre were added to the card base  To finish the card glitter was added to the flower centre.

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamps: 'Spring Zebra'
Digital Sentiment: 'Say It Big'

Other:  Pre-Scored Easel Card Blank, Copics, Black Card, White Card, Red Card, Neenah, Monochrome Paper Pad (Hunkydory), PowerPoint; Printer, Pearl Circle Dies (Tattered Lace), XXL Stitched Circle Die (Crealies), Camellia - Complete Petals (Creative Expressions), Gem, Label Dies (The Works), Mini Butterfly Punch, Colour Cloud Ink - Summer Sky (Cosmic Shimmer), Mini Cloud Stencil (MFT), Crystal Glitter

Craftsulove Design Team - June Card #1

Morning guy ðŸ’œ

For this post I'm wearing my Craftulove Design Team Hat on...and yes, it's my first post for them ever. How excited am I!!

So for today's card I've used 'Wild For You' stamps from Lawn Fawn, 6" x 6" 'Itsy Bitsy Polka Dot Pastel' Paper Pad from My Favorite Thing (MFT), 'Girl Assortment' matt enamel dots from Doodlebug Designs Inc, and finally Scalloped Circle Layering Dies from Tonic Studios.  The rest of the products I used are from my own stash, unless mentioned below..

I loved working with this stamp set; all the little animals are so cute and they stamp brilliantly. Once stamped they were so easy to colour as there's lots of open space. I teamed the completed scene with some bright green dotty paper from the pad, which have the most gorgeous colours inside.

All the links to the specific Craftuslove products can be found below, and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
To create my card I covered the front of a scalloped card base with green dotty paper, leaving a white boarder around the edge.

To create the scene - a circle was die cut from colouring card and I worked out how I wanted my layout to be. Next the crocodile was stamped low down in the centre of the circle. The crocodile was then stamped onto scrap paper to create a mask, this was used to cover the croc up on the colouring card. The rest of the characters were then stamped over the top along with the sentiment with the help of my stamping tool.

I created masks for the rest of the animals and covered everything up, I added blue ink around the characters and along the edge. When all the ink was dry, the masks were removed. Using alcohol pens all the characters were coloured in.

To complete the picture I stamped, coloured and cut out 2 party hats and glued them on the heads of both elephants. The completed topper was attached to a die cut green scalloped circle and added to the card front using foam pads. To finish the card 3 bright pink matt enamel stickers and a little glitter were added to the card front.

Whimsy Inspiration - June Week 2

Morning everyone ðŸ’œ

Hi everyone, well I'm now back from my hollibobs with a bit of a tan, and feeling totally relaxed.
Here in the UK it's not that warm at the moment......well not as warm as Spain anyway. So atm I'm sat crafting with a few layers on to keep warm. :)

Today I'd like to share some Whimsy inspiration with you, so I've used one of the brand new gorgeous digital papers by Denise Lynn, and it's called 'Floral Beauty'. The collection is available in the Digital section of the Whimsy Store.  I also used a sentiment from a previous release plus one of our fantastic die sets. I hope you like it. x

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
I recoloured the digital sentiment 'Family' from black to white and added it to the digital paper using the Powerpoint software program. The paper was then printed out and used to cover a 6" x 6" card front.

I die cut some strong white card using one of the Envelope Edger dies, trimmed it and attached it to the card front using foam pads. To finish the card I used some cream ribbon and a pretty gem.

Here's What I Used

Digital Paper: Floral Beauty
Digital Sentiment: Family Forever

Other:  6" x 6" White Card Blank, White Card, Cream Satin Ribbon, White Gem, Microsoft PowerPoint, Printer, Foam Pads

Whimsy Stamps - June Release #2

Afternoon peeps ðŸ’œ

Wow, it only seems like yesterday I added a post about our new Whimsy release....well actually it was the day before. Lol  I'm feeling a little quackers, so I've coloured up this cheeky little chappie, happily swinging on his tarzie as we say here in the UK (oops not sure if I've spelt it right though).

Today card is another cute digi stamp from the June release which I've coloured using my Copic pens.  This one is called 'Make A Splash' and can be found in the Whimsy store.

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
First I created a frame from strong white card by using a large rectangle die and cutting out the centre using a smaller rectangle die. To give the frame depth I glued white funky foam around the back sides of the frame, then when this was dry I repeated the process (this could easily be achieved using foam pads or tape). When everything was dry, the frame was glued in place onto the front of a 5" x 7" card blank.

The duck image was resized and printed onto Neenah cardstock and die cut using the same small rectangle die used to make the frame aperture. The duck image was printed twice again onto copier paper to create 2 masks - for the first mask I just cut off the sea section, and for the 2nd mask I cut out the duck, rope and the sea.

Next I covered the duck, rope and sea with the mask to avoid colour contamination when making the sky. To create the cloud effect I used a sponge, blue Colour Cloud ink and a cloud template. When everything was dry I covered over the sky, duck and rope leaving just the sea exposed. I used blue and aqua Colour Cloud ink to create the sea, then added a little bit of white pen and blue glitter pen to the waves. The image was then coloured with Copic pens.  When the images was completed it was glued inside the aperture.

To finish the card 3 aqua coloured enamel dots were added to the card front.

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp: Make a Splash

Other: 5" x 7" Kraft Card Blank, Copic Pens, Neenah Colouring Card, Strong White Card, PowerPoint; Printer, White Funky Foam, Noble - Doubled Pierced Rectangle (Creative Expressions), 'Summer Sky and Frosted Aqua' Colour Cloud Ink (Cosmic Shimmer), Enamel Dots, Blue Glitter Pen, White pen

Whimsy Stamps - June Release #1

Afternoon peeps ðŸ’œ

Wow, its the 1st of June....so were did May go to. I can't believe how quickly the time is going. It's crazy. Well just so you know, I'm still on my holibobs. At this present moment I'm heading over to the beach to sit and colour in the sun....bliss!

So today is the start of Whimsy release week for June, so I'm here to share one of the fab new digital release stamps from Whimsy Stamps --- this one is called 'Owl Wedding'. It's perfect for a June wedding....and I should know, I was married in June. I teamed this gorgeous pair with an embossed aperture, as I wanted them to look like they were sitting in their little tree together.

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
I firstly inked around the edge of a 6" x 6" Kraft card. I trimmed a piece of Kraft card slightly smaller than the card blank (so it would leave a small border around the edge) and die cut a circle into the centre. The Kraft card was then passed though a wood effect embossing folder, and inked over the top to bring out the detail.  A piece of dark brown card was glued into place in the centre of the card front.

The owls were resized and printed onto Neenah cardstock, coloured with Copic pens and cut out. The owls were glued to the Kraft card behind the circle aperture, this was then added  to the card front using plenty of foam tape.

To finish the card a 'Wedding' sentiment was die cut from brown card along with 2 hearts cut from pink glitter card, then they were all added to the card front.

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp: Owl Wedding

Other: 6" x 6" Kraft Card Blank,  Kraft Card, Copic Pens, Neenah Colouring Card, Brown Card, PowerPoint; Printer, Foam Tape, XXL Stitched Circle Dies (Crealies), Wedding Word Die (the Range - Cut & Make), Love Today Dies (Diamond Press), 'Warm Cocoa' Colour Cloud Ink (Cosmic Shimmer), Pink Glitter Card, Dinky 'House' Die (Xcut)

Our new challenge #106 started on the 15th May, so why not come and join us. There a  fabulous $15 prize to win and the theme as always is #Anything Goes'. Here is the link for you, so come on what are you waiting for!
