Crafter's Companion Design Team Card - Crafter's Inspiration Magazine Issue 10

Good morning everyone :)

Well I did promised I would be back with another Crafter's Companion project....and here I am. I've again used the goodies from the freebies from Crafter's Inspiration Magazine kit - Issue #10. I really loved playing with the content of this kit, they're so versatile. For this particular card I've chosen blue and white to keep it nice and fresh, and have kept it Clean And Simple (CAS) again. Hope you like it. :)

A description of how I made it and all the products used are shown just below the photos. :)

 

 

Here's What I Did

First I cut down a sheet of strong white card to make an A6 top fold card blank, then trimmed down a piece of blue textured card slightly narrower than the blank.

Next I wiped the inside of the hexagon embossing folder (top piece) with some Versamark ink and carefully placed a strip of white card inside and put it through my embossing machine. While still tacky I added sparkly embossing powder and melted it using a heat gun. The embossed and glitter strip was glued to the piece of blue card, and then added to the card base using foam pads.

Using white card I die cut several hexagons and stamped them using the stamps from the kit. When the ink was dry I added distressing ink around the edges and glitter pen to the bee and flowers. On the largest hexagon I stamped a sentiment that comes in the kit and added clear glitter over the top.

To finish off I placed the hexagons on top of the blue card using foam pads, and added 3 white pearls.

Little Miss Muffet Design Team Card (27th June)

Heeeellllloooo everyone

Well good morning, it's Monday and my turn to share my Little Miss Muffet inspirational creation with you. I've gone really zingy and bright today - I guess I was inspired by seeing a little bit of sunshine here in the UK. :p

I had originally planned to colour up this sweet girly with my watercolour paints but I changed my mind. I had already I printed her onto watercolour card so I decided to use my pencils and Sansdor instead - watercolour card as a tooth on it so it gives a slight textured appearance when coloured. To finish my card off I stamped lots of tiny hearts and flowers and added a die cut flower.

The digi stamp I used is called 'Polka dot Pals - Petunia' and she's available from the Little Miss Muffet store here.

 

 

Here's What I Did
Firstly I cut a piece of patterned paper to side and edged it with distressing ink and attached the A6 card blank. The image was printed onto the watercolour card and die cut into a small rectangle, and coloured with pencil and Sansdor (Sansdor is used to move the pencil lead around and promote blending, it gives a smoother finish).

Next I stamped tiny flowers and hearts around the main image and added glitter over the top. The finished topper was matted and layered onto complimentary card and attached to the card base.

To finish off I added white pearls, a die cut flower and a couple of leaves.

Crafter's Companion Design Team Card - Crafter's Inspiration Magazine Issue 10

Heeeellllloooo everyone

I'm here today to share my Crafter's Companion project with you using goodies from the Crafter's Inspiration Magazine Kit Issue #10. To be perfectly honest before joining the Design Team I'd never used one of the kits before...and wow, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box.  Inside you received an inspiration magazine, a set of dies, embossing folder, stamps plus a tutorial DVD and CD with lots papers and digi stamps. It's such great value for money!

So to give you a little inspiration here's what I created with my kit. By the way, just a little heads up, I'll be back in a day or so with more inspiration. ;)

Underneath the photos I have written a short description of how I made my card plus a list of all the products I used. Enjoy!

 Here's What I Did

First I matted my 5" x 5" scalloped white card blank with yellow card stock. Next I cut out a square of strong white card and die cut 5 hexagon shapes into it, then stamped a sentiment in black ink in the bottom right corner. Using a few coloured inks I added lots of splashes and splodges on the white card around the cut outs.

Using the hexagon waste pieces I created frames by die cutting into them again with the smaller size dies, these were then glued in place over the apertures. Using the CD from the kit a sheet of patterned paper was printed out, cut down to size then glued on top of the yellow card.

The bee and flower were hand stamped and coloured with Spectrum Noir pens, then fussy out.  Spectrum Noir 'Sparkle' pens were added to both images and then glued in place on the patterned paper. Lots of foam pads were added to the back of the white topper to give it strength, and attached to the card base over the top of the patterned paper and card.

To finish off I added gold sequins and black dashes into each of the apertures, then to give extra sparkle I added droplets of the clear glitter pen around the splodges and splashes..

Sweet Stampin' - Stars

Hello and good morning everyone ---

Anyhoo, it's Saturday and Sweet Stampin' day - so I'm here to share my Design Team card with you. Our easy theme this week is 'Stars' - so simple make a project and include stars on it and or course a stamped elements.

So for my card this week I'm sharing a card I made for my hubbie for Christmas. I've been watching to show off these fun guys but there was never an appropriate them until today. These little characters are from Bugaboo and the image is called 'Make it Snappy - Reindeer Trio', and I coloured them with Copic pens....and no glitter. Lol

 

 

Here's What I Did
First I matted and layered my card blank with a piece of patterned paper. Then using a software program I added a sentiment in the space below the digital stamp of the trio of reindeers and more stars, this was then printed out 3 times.

I die cut one of the images into a square and introduced shading around and behind the reindeers using Copic pens. Using the 2 remaining image I coloured portions of each of the reindeer in, using my pens. The coloured sections were then cut out and added to the base image using foam pads. The competed image was then matted and layered, and added to the card blank.

To finish off I added Glossy Accents to the reindeer's eyes and Crystal Drops to the antler decorations.

Crafter's Companion 'Inspirers' Design Team

Heeeellllloooo everyone

Well I'm here today to share my 1st Crafter's Companion project with you as part of the 'Inspirers' Design Team. Yay!!! I'm so excited - I hope you like it :)

In light of Glastonbury (or as I called it the other day...Glasonberry!) starting this week I created a 'Summer Music Festival' card using Sheena Douglas's fabulous A Little Bit Sketchy 'Rock' stamp collection. This collection is just perfect especially for the musician, music enthusiast or simply the rocker in the family - you can find the whole collection and more here. 

Here's What I Did
Firstly I matted and layered coloured card onto a 7" x 7" card blank. The silhouette of the band, circles, star bursts and sentiment were stamped directly onto patterned paper in black ink. Distressing ink was added around the edge of the paper then attached to the card front. Clear glitter was added to the circles and star bursts.

The applauding hands were stamped several times in different coloured inks and fussy cut out, these were then attached to the bottom section of the card using foam pads. The last layer of hands was raised up on double foam pads to add extra dimension.

Sugar Nellie Design Team and Farewell Card

- Hello Sugar Fans -

Good morning everyone!

Well today is my last card and post for the Sugar Nellie Design Team. After thinking long and hard I made the decision to step down. After losing my step-dad a few weeks ago I felt I needed to go into another direction and have a fresh start with a couple of things. Time is precious as they say!

Karen (Mama Sugar) and Fiona invited me to join the Design Team a few years ago after initially joining the Sugar Bowl challenge team. I have had a fantastic journey, made some special friends and played with lots of wonderful stamps. Even although I will miss everyone I just feel it's time for me to move on. I wish Karen and the Sugar Nellie girls all the very best for the future. See you in blogland my sweet girlies :)

So for my last Sugar Nellie Design Team card I've chosen to share with you my very first one. It's ironic that my card is showing off this particular SS stamp as it's Simply Sassy week this week, so my timing is perfect. The digi stamp is called 'Tiffany' and she is and will always be special to me, plus she's so pretty.

Here's What I Did
I matted my 8" x 8" card base with coloured card and pretty patterned paper, then added a cream die cut border strip right across the middle. I printed the image directly on colouring card and coloured her in delicate Copic colours. Using similar coloured inks to the Copic pens I used, I then stamped flowers and leaves around the image. The completed topper was then matted onto coloured card and added to the card base. The same flowers and leaves were also stamped onto a computer generated sentiment which I then cut into a fishtail banner, and placed under the flowers.

To finish off I added my own handmade flowers and hat pins, plus a few pearls and a touch of glitter.

Little Miss Muffet - Design Team Card (Challenge #140)

Heeeellllloooo and good morning

Well another Monday has rolled around and I'm happy to bring you my newest Little Miss Muffet creation to you. Now I know this is a Christmas card, but honestly could you resist this gorgeous little girl because I know I couldn't. the beautiful digi stamp is called 'PDP Noeleen' and she's available from the Little Miss Muffet store here.

I wanted Noeleen to be the main focal point so I made her quite large. She is coloured with Copic pens, and then to finish her off I added a touch of sparkle. I love her....don't you?

My card is part of our newest challenge (#140) over at Little Miss Muffet. The theme this month is 'Anything Goes' so why don't you join in with the fun. Come on, what are you waiting for, remember you don't have to use a LMM stamp to enter either.

 

 

Here's What I Did
Firstly I die cut a piece of pretty patterned and edge it with distressing inks, then added it to my 6" x 6" white card base.

I printed the image directly onto colouring cardstock and coloured with in Copic pens. and when finished I die cut it into an oval. To fill in the white space around the image I randomly stamped mini snowflakes in lilac ink. The completed top was added to the card base front using foam tape.

To finish off I attached 2 die cut snowflakes in lilac glitter card and used clear glitter on the hearts and ice.

Sweet Stampin' Design Team Call Out

Little Miss Muffet Design Team Card (13th June)

Hello my lovelies!

I hope wherever you are the weather is great, and you're getting some of that big yellow thingy in the sky shining on you....I think they call it the 'sun'. Here in the North East of England we've not had very much at all...sob!  Ah well, that my poor weather report over and done with. Lol

Anyhoo, it's Monday and Little Miss Muffet Day here on my blog, so I'd like to share my creation with you. For my CAS card this week I've used one with an unusual aperture, well to be totally honest it was what was left over from a previously created card (in other words...scrap!).  I resized the image to make her large enough to touch the top and bottom of the aperture so she could be attached. The image I used is called 'Swings 'n' Slides Froggy' and it's available from the Little Miss Muffet store here.    

 

Here's What I Did
The 4" x 6" scallop card base with the front and back aperture, is the waste from a mini card I made the last week.  Firstly I covered the inside right of the card base with patterned paper to disguise the back aperture, then attached a strip of the same paper to the front. The image was printed directly onto colouring cardstock, cut out with my cutting machine and coloured with Copic pens. The image was then carefully attached to the front of the card.

To finish off I added glitter pen to her hat, enamel dots to the front and glossy accents onto the frog's eyes.

Sweet Stampin' - 3 Or More Layers

Anyhoo, it's Saturday and Sweet Stampin' day - so I'm here to share my Design Team card with you. Our theme this week is '3 Or More Layers' - and it's exactly as it says on the tin. You must include 3 or more layers on your card along with a stamped elements.

So for my card this week I decided to use a card I made for my mum for Mother's Day which I hadn't blogged. I adore this pretty stamp, it's not a particularly big one but it's so sweet. I created the flowers from dies, and coloured them to match the ones in my stamped picture.

Here's What I Did
First I matted and layered my base card with lilac and white plain card and a piece of patterned paper. Using a software program I printed a sentiment onto a sheet of colouring card stock and hand stamped the image next to it, this was then coloured with Copic pens. The background was created by adding lots of various sized dots using the same pens used in the rest of the picture. When finished I die cut the image and a piece of lilac card and glued them on top of each other. 

Next I die cut 3 flowers from white card and coloured them with Copic pens to match the ones I did in the stamped image. I also die cut 3 smaller flowers from yellow card, and punched out 5 small leaves in green. The tall leaves were simply hand cut from green card and coloured at the tips with dark green ink.

The finished topper and flowers were glued to the card base along with a pretty ribbon.  To complete the card I added a few pearls and clear glitter to the flowers and butterfly.
