Craftsulove - May Card and Tutorial

Morning everyone πŸ’œ

This week's Craftulove card and tutorial is using the gorgeous Craft Consortium 12" x 12" paper pad 'Tell The Bees' and a 'Best Wishes' sentiment die from Creative Expressions, plus some of the gorgeous metallic card from Tim Holtz. I hope you enjoy the tutorial, if you have any questions please let me know. x

All the links to the specific Craftuslove products can be found below, and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
1. Open the inside cover of the 12” x 12” pad and cut off the embellishment page. Cut out the 2 large hexagons.

2. Draw around both of the cut out hexagons onto a piece of the pale gold metallic card leaving a border around the edge, and then cut them both out. Mount the hexagons onto the cut out shapes, and add clear glitter to the bees and crowns.

3. Remove a sheet of the honeycomb patterned paper from the pad. Trim the sheet down to cover the front of the 6” x 6” card blank leaving a slim border around the edge, and then attach it.

4. Cut a strip of black card to ¼” x 6” and attach it on the left hand side of the card front.

5. Die cut the ‘Best Wishes’ sentiment from black card, and glue it to the bottom of the card front.

6. Add foam pads on either side of the backs of the hexagon panels, then stick them above each other on the card front over the top of the black strip.

7. Cut out 2 of the large bees from the sheet and add glitter to their wings. Glue one of the bees flat onto the card front and attach the other to the hexagon panels using a foam pad.

8.  To complete the card add 3 gems to the black strip below the hexagon panels.

Lili Of The Valley - Design Team Card May #4

Afternoon everyone

Today I'm sharing another Lili Of The Valley cards using one of the brand new stamps that were released on 15th May. I used the digital version of the stamp for my card but it's also available in rubber, well for the moment anyway. Just to remind you, that Lili Of The Valley have announced that sadly they will stop production of rubber stamps from the 5th June due to falling sales figures; the company will focus on digital stamps and Simply Prints (A4 sheets of pre-coloured images).

For my card today I have chosen one of the new wedding stamps, it's called 'Wedding Bear Carriage' and I've coloured it using my beloved Copic pens. FYI, I have included the link to the rubber stamp version below...but hurry before they sell out.  I hope you like it. x

For your information, here is the link to the LOTV online store and the LOTV Etsy Store to check out the rest of their goodies.

Here's What I Did
Using 2 complementary patterned papers I trimmed them down to 6" x 6". The papers were cut in half and added to the front of my card blank. A die cut border cut from matching paper was added across the join. (Not sure if you've spotted it, but I kind of made a boo boo and trimmed the top patterned paper the wrong way, so the pattern now runs across the card instead of down....ooops!).

Using my graphics software I inserted the wedding image and resized it to fit my needs. The image was printed directly onto Neenah card and coloured using Copic pens. The scene was die cut into a circle, then mounted onto a pink fancy die cut circle. To add dimension foam pads were added to the back before added to the card front.

To complete the card I added glitter to some of the areas, added a few pearls plus a tiny bunting decoration at the top of the card..

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp: Wedding Bear Carriage
Rubber Stamp: Wedding Bears Collection (this A5 stamp set includes images and sentiments)

My Stash: 6" x 6" White  Card Blank, LOTV 'Romance & Roses' Paper Pad (retired), Neenah Card, Pink Card, Tattered Lace 'Circle' Dies, Tattered Lace 'Pearl' Circle Dies, Lawn Fawn 'Stitched Scalloped Border', Dovecraft 'Bunting' Dies, Heart Punch,  Glitter, Pearls, Foam Pads, Colour Cloud 'Summer Sky' Ink

Copics: Bears, Mouse & Wheels - E31, E33, E35, E29 / Flowers & Horseshoe - RV00, RV02, RV13, RV34 / Veil - B000, C2 / Grass & Leaves - YG03, YG17, G05 /Horse & Sign - E40, E41, E43 / Butterflies - BG11 /Carriage - C0, C1, C3

Craft Consortium - Essential Paper Pad Launch

Hi guys πŸ’œ

I'm back with more card samples using the fabulous Essential paper pad collection by Craft Consortium launched on Create & Craft on the 17th May. The 4 pads contain different grunge and textured effects apart from one which is full of tropical birds, patterns and flamingos.  All the designs, colours and quality of the pads are stunning. I will be creating another 2 projects using 2 of the other pads later this week and next week, along with other collections that have been released. So please check back to see them.

Anyhow, here are my cards using papers from the 'Metal Texture' Grunge paper pad. This pad is perfect to make a Father's Day or male birthday card, so here are a few ideas, I hope you like them. All the links to the specific Craft Consortium products can be found below, and the link to the general store is here.

'Metal Textures' Paper Pad

Here's What I Did
Card #1 - First I die cut a frame from black card using 2 rectangle dies.

Next I die cut 2 cog corners, several small cogs and the word 'dad' from a sheet of the patterned paper. I added a little gold gilding wax all of the components. The corners and cogs were glued to the back of the frame along with some foam tape around the edges.

The 'dad' sentiment was glued in place in the centre of the card, then the frame was placed over it. To complete the card I added gold enamel dots to the centres of some of the cogs.

Card #2 - I trimmed down a piece of the patterned paper to 5¾" x 5¾" to cover the front of my own 6" x 6" card blank, leaving a slim border around the edge.

An oval was die cut from white card and sponged around the edge with brown ink, when dry it was added to another die cut oval that I cut from bronze matt mirror card. I stamped the clock onto the same patterned paper with black ink and fussy cut out, when dry this was glued into place on the white oval. The words 'Tic' and 'Toc' was stamp on either side of the clock. The oval topper was added to the card front using foam pads.

Using the same bronze matt mirror card stars were punched out and glued around the card, to complete it.

I used

Stamp: Woodware 'Tic Toc'

Hi everyone πŸ’œ

Well today (17th May) they launched a fabulous selection of Essential paper pads on Create & Craft with grunge and texture effects. The designs, colours and quality of the pads are simply superb. When the ink was dry I coloured the giraffe in with watercolour pens and water. I trimmed down the stamped panel and and cut around the the tips of the giraffe's ears. The pink frame was glue over the top of the stamped panel apart from the ears which were poked out over the top of the frame. White funky foam was glued to the back of the framed panel to raise it up and then added to the card front.  To complete the card I added a die cut sentiment and heart cut from the same pink card.

Card #2 - I trimmed down a piece of the patterned paper to 4½" x 4½" to cover the front of my own 4¾" x 4¾" card blank leaving a slim border around the edge. Happy 15th Birthday Lili Of The Valley

Afternoon everyone

Wow, Lili Of The Valley is 15 today - where did  the time go. I can remember finding their LOTV products all those years back and falling in love with them instantly, and I can remember watching the girls in their first show on Create & Craft. I was so excited too, when they first started producing digital products as well as rubber, and now they have sadly decided to stop production of rubber stamps all together due to falling sales figures; the company will totally focus on digital stamps and Simply Prints.

So I'm sharing more of the new stamps which were released today, these are all separate little plant pots each displaying letters of the words 'Happy' and 'Birthday', they're super cute. These would look fabulous as a banner! Anyhow I digest, I decided to use the plant pots and make them into a 15th birthday card for LOTV. All the new stamps will be available in both digi and rubber format. I used the digi stamps on my card today. I have listed all the stamp names below, and I will provided the links as soon as possible. I hope you and they like it. x

For your information, here is the link to the LOTV online store and the LOTV Etsy Store to check out the rest of their goodies.

Here's What I Did
I cut a strip of yellow card and attached it to the front of my DL leaving a border at the top and bottom. Using my graphics software I inserted the birthday plant pots and my own sentiments above and below them, then resized everything to fit my my card front. The scene was printed directly onto Neenah card and the letters were coloured using Copic pens. The panel was trimmed down and added to the card front.

I printed the plant pots again, coloured them with Copic pens and a few glitter pens then fussy cut out, these were then place over the corresponding plant pots on the panel.  To complete the card I added a few gems.

Craftsulove Design Team - May Card #1

Morning everyone πŸ’œ

The Craftsulove and the Design Team are changing how they do things, so instead of us sharing our project each month we will instead, be on a 3 month rolling rota. So this month it's my turn, and I'm sharing the first of my May cards with you, and I've used the beautiful Craft Consortium 12" x 12" paper pad 'Tell The Bees', a rubber stamp called 'Texture Bees ' from Stamperia, a 'Best Wishes die from Creative Expressions, and the gorgeous metallic card from Tim Holtz. Anyhow I hope you like it. x

All the links to the specific Craftuslove products can be found below, and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
Firstly I trimmed down a piece of the patterned paper to 4¾" x 6¾"and covered the front of my black 5" x 7" top fold card blank. I added gold glitter pen to the bees on the patterned paper.

Using a stamping platform I stamped out the text/bee stamp with brown distress ink first, then while it was still in place I stamped it again using black ink. I did this as I felt it made the black ink a little warmer. When the ink was dry I trimmed down the stamped panel and added gold glitter pen in places, this was then mounted onto gold metallic card and then onto the card front.

The 'best wishes' sentiment was die cut 4 times - 3 times from black card and once from gold card, all the layers were then glued together and added to the card front over the top of the panel. To complete the card I added 3 small gems to the bottom of the card.

Available from Craftsulove
Paper Pad: Craft Consortium - 12" x 12" Paper Pad 'Tell The Bees'
Die: Creative Expression - 'Best Wishes' Mini Sentiment

Lili Of the Valley - Sneak Peak May Launch #1

Evening everyone πŸ’›

I'm sharing a sneak preview of some of the new stamps that will be released on the 15th May, which brilliantly coincides with LOTV's 15th birthday. All the new stamps will be available in both digi and rubber format. I used the digi stamps on my card today. I have listed all the stamp names below, and I will provided the links after the 15th.

So for today's card I decided to go all summery and bright as it's been a bit gloomy here since I came back from my cruise. I just love working with yellow and orange as it's my 'happy' colour. I used Copics to colour. I hope you like it. x

For your information, here is the link to the LOTV online store and the LOTV Etsy Store to check out the rest of their goodies.

Here's What I Did
I covered the front of a 6" x 6" white card blank with a pretty patterned paper, leaving a slim border around the edge. Using my graphics software I inserted the flower garland 3 times and joined them all together, then added the mouse image and both the 'Sending You' and 'Hugs' sentiment. The digi images were all resized and arranged to create a scene and printed directly onto Neenah card and coloured with Copic pens. When finished, the scene was die cut into a square and mounted onto a die cut yellow scalloped square and added to the card front. I glued funky foam to the back of the topper before adding it to the card front to raise it up a slightly.

To complete the card I added glitter to the garland, daisy and butterfly and along with a few yellow gems in the bottom corner.

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamps
Mouse: Little Friends 'Mouse With Daisy'
Flower Garland & Sentiments: Little Friends 'Extras'

Rubber Stamps
Little Friends (the A5 stamp set contains images and sentiments)

My Stash: 6" x 6" White  Card Blank, LOTV 'One Birdie Lane' Paper Pad, Neenah Card, Yellow Card, Strong White Card, Spellbinders 'Grand Scalloped Square' Die, Crealies XXL 'Double Dot' Square Dies, Hunkydory Moonstone 'Fabulous Flowers' Dies, Glitter, Gems, Funky Foam

Copics: Mouse - E31, E33, E35, E37 / Flowers, Garland & Grass - Y11, Y15, Y17, Y21, YG03, YG17 /Butterfly - Y11, Y17

Craftsulove Design Team - April Tutorial & Card #2

Hi everyone πŸ’œ

Today I'm sharing my April Craftulove Design Team card and tutorial with you. Sorry it's a little late but I've been on a week's cruise to Scandinavia with my daughter; we had a fabulous time. We ate, drank, walked, talked, laughed....and danced. I now have what I like to call 'disco knees', as they're aching and sore. Lol

Anyhow back to my card,  I used the pretty word edger die by Creative Expressions and the Metallic card by Tim Holtz. For my card I used 3 of the different coloured sheets in the pad. The metallic card in the pad is backed with kraft card and the colours are lovely and muted. Anyhow I hope you like my card. All the links to the specific Craftuslove products can be found below, and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did

I used a 7" x 7" card blank, 3 sheets of the metallic card (peacock blue, green and gold), the 'For You' and 'Best Wishes' die and 3 yellow gems.

1. Trim the peacock blue and green metallic card to 5¾” x 5¾”.

2. Attach the peacock blue card to the front of the 7" x 7" card blank.

3. Using the green metallic card measure both sides to 3” from the bottom and lightly mark with a pencil. Lay the sentiment edger die across the card and die cut.

4. Carefully remove top section of the die cut and adhere it to the card front over the top of the peacock blue card.

5. Die cut the sentiment again from gold metallic card. Leave the pieces in the die until they are needed to avoid the small pieces getting lost.

6. Next, carefully add glue to the wells in the green metallic card die cut lettering  one by one, and insert the same piece of lettering that was cut from the gold card (that were left in in the die). Do each piece in turn until the bottom section is complete (as shown below).

7. Cut a strip of the same gold card and add double sided sticky paper to the back, then die cut the ‘Best Wishes’ sentiment. Peel the protective sheet on the back and attach it to the bottom of the card front.

8. To complete the card add 3 gems to the top left of the card.

TIPS
#1 – When die cutting the ‘For You’ sentiment and the ‘Best Wishes’ turn the card and die 45° so that it cuts vertically. It makes the card easier to cut as there’s less cutting points.

#2 - To avoid getting dents and marks in your metallic card when die cutting - lay a piece of copier paper over the top of the card and die to protect it before running it through your machine.

Available from Craftsulove
Die: Creative Expression - Paper Cuts 'For You' Edger and Mini Expressions 'Best Wishes'
