Whimsy Inspiration Post - April Week 5

Hi there everyone 💜

Wow, the last week of April, where is the time going! Well it was my birthday on Monday (23rd - St George's Day) and so my lovely hubbie has treat me to a few days away to visit Longleat Safari Park in the grounds belonging to Lord Bath. They created a BBC programme about the park and big house a few years ago and I've always wanted to visit it. Hopefully the UK will behave itself and we'll get to see some animals and their conservation work. So I've schedule this post while I'm off on my little adventure, and hopefully I'll post some cheeky animal pictures next week. :)

Anyhoo, back to biz. Today it's my turn to share my latest Whimsy Stamps card with you, and I again I want to highlight the wonderful digital bunnie collection by Crissy Armstrong. I have used the same concept as last week's design but this time I've simply added my images, printed out the sheet and coloured them in. To create my card I again used PowerPoint and coloured the bunnie with Copic pens.

As I mentioned previously I was inspired by one of Jennifer McGuire's video tutorials about Scatter Stamping. I hope you like it and give it a try.

All the links to the Whimsy products can be seen below. I hope you like it.

Here's What I Did
Using PowerPoint firstly created a rectangle frame 5" x 7" with a dark outside line and a white centre (this will give you a guideline for placement). Inserted the bunnies one at a time then resized and rotated them. Place some of the bunnies so that parts of them fall outside of the frame. The sentiment was firstly cropped back to only show the word 'Hello', then resized and added to the project using the same process as the bunnies.

Click onto the rectangle frame and press delete to remove it. Print out the topper, and coloured the one bunnies with your Copic pens.

To complete the card add a piece of black card to cover the front of a 5" x 7" top fold card. Trim the bunnie topper to size so that there will be a slim border around the edge, add it to the card front to finish.

Tip 1 -- Make sure you name and save your project as soon as possible, and save regularly to avoid losing your work.

Here's What I Used

Digital Stamps:'Bad Hare Day', 'Bubble Gum Bun', 'Bunnies Brushing Teeth', 'Bunny Boxer Bum', 'Bunny Boxers'

Digital Sentiments: 'Say it Big'

Other:
5" x 7" Top Fold Card Blank, Copic Pens, Spectrum Noir Pens, Black Card, Neenah Card, PowerPoint, Computer & Printer

Copics: W0, W1, W3, RV00, RV02, RV10, RV14

Whimsy Inspiration Post - April Week 4

Hi guys 💜

Today it's my turn to share my latest Whimsy Stamps card with you, and I thought I would highlight the wonderful bunnie collection of digital stamps by Crissy Armstrong. I adore these little characters, and the benefit of being digital is that you can resize, rotation and flip the images. The technique I used was inspired by one of Jennifer McGuire's video tutorials about Scatter Stamping; in her tutorial she used clear acyclic stamps whereas I used digital stamps. I have to admit I'm pleased with the results and I hope you re too.

To create my card I used PowerPoint, which made it super easy to block colour the images as well as change their orientation etc. The non blue bunnie was coloured with Copic and Spectrum Noir pens.

All the links to the Whimsy products can be seen below. I hope you like it.

Here's What I Did (sorry this is quite a heavy instructional post)

Using PowerPoint firstly created a rectangle frame 5" x 7" with a dark outside line and a white centre (this will give you a guideline for placement). Inserted the bunnies one at a time then resized and rotated them. Place some of the bunnies so that parts of them fall outside of the frame.

The sentiment was firstly cropped back to only show the word 'Hello', then resized and added to the project using the same process as the bunnies.

Once everything is safely named and saved, select all of the bunnies apart from one.
This is how ----
  1. Click onto the 1st bunnie image, and then press and hold down the CTRL button and click onto the next bunnie and so on.
  2. Release the CTRL button and right click onto one of the selected bunnies and from the menu that will pop up left click onto 'Group' and from next pop up window slide across and select Group again.
  3. Next double click onto one of the selected bunnies and the Tool Bar will change to the Picture Tool (Format), now click the Color button. You will see there are lots of colour options, select the Blue bunnie to change the colour of all the selected bunnies. Click away from the image to change the toolbar back.
Click onto the rectangle frame and press delete to remove it. Print out the topper, then colour the one remaining bunnie with your alcohol pens.

To complete the card add a piece of black card to cover the front of a 5" x 7" top fold card. Trim the bunnie topper to size so that there will be a slim border around the edge, add it to the card front to finish.

Tips --
1 -- Make sure you name and save your project as soon as possible, and save regularly to avoid losing your work.
2 -- Why not colour each bunnie a different shade by simply double clicking onto each bunnie in turn and selecting the Color button and a shade of your choice.

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamps:'Bad Hare Day''Bubble Gum Bun', 'Bunnies Brushing Teeth', 'Bunny Boxer Bum', 'Bunny Boxers'
Digital Sentiments: 'Say it Big'

Other:
5" x 7" Top Fold Card Blank, Copic Pens, Spectrum Noir Pens, Black Card, Neenah Card, PowerPoint, Computer & Printer

Copics: W0, W1, W3, RV00, RV02, RV10, RV14

Spectrum Noir: TB1, TB2, TB3

Today I've combined my weekly Whimsy Stamps DT card with my forthcoming Challenge #105 card.

For my card I've chosen  the cute stamp set called 'Espresso-ly Great' by Krista Heij-Barber. I love my coffee so this was perfect me, and I've tried to keep it simple. I used my pencils and a tad of glitter to enhance this little chap. Hope you like it, and it inspires you to have a go and enter our challenge.

We'd all so love to see your fabulous creations and all the girls will pop by and say hi...plus you might even win a prize which is generous $15 gift certificate to spend in the store. So come on, what are you waiting for!

The new challenge starts on the 15th April. Simply click here to visit our blog and upload your project, and check out my lovely teamies work.

Here's What I Did
I completely covered an 5" x 6¼" card blank with my patterned paper. I die cut a dark brown mat and smaller one from Kraft card.

The coffee mug, heat swirls, and sentiments were stamped directly onto the Kraft card mat. The mug was stamped again onto more Kraft card, coloured in using with pencils and cut out. The word 'Coffee' and the heat swirls were coloured in, then the mat was adhered to the dark brown mat.

Glitter was added to the heat swirls and the cream on the cut out mug. The finished mug was added over the top of the image previously stamped on the Kraft topper using foam pads. The completed topper was attached to the card front using more foam pads.

Brown enamel dots in decreasing sizes were added to the card front to complete the card.

Here's What I Used
Rubber Stamps: Espresso-ly Great by Krista Heij-Barber

Prismacolor Pencils: Light Cerulean Blue, True Blue, Copenhagen Blue, Indigo Blue, Cream, Burnt Ochre, Terracotta, Dark Umber, Black

Whimsy Stamps - April Release #2

Good morning everyone ðŸ’œ

Yep, it's me again. :)

Today I'd love to share more of the new digital range from Whimsy Stamps which was released yesterday. For my card today I used one of the beautiful new digital papers from the 'Starry Night' collection, and a sentiment from the brand new set called 'Big Wishes Sentiments'. Hope you like it. x

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
Note --- I have now started to use Powerpoint (a software programme that comes with Microsoft Office) as my chosen software for my digital papers and elements, it's really easy to use and super quick. As a qualified I.T. tutor if you need any help using this software please let me know and I will help the best I can.

I matted my card blank with teal coloured card and a sheet of the printed out patterned paper making sure I left a thin border around the edge. The sentiment was cropped, resized and printed out then die cut into a scalloped oval. I die cut a further 2 ovals and glued them all together to give extra dimension, this was then attached to a fancy die cut oval cut from teal card. The whole topper was added to the card front using foam pads.

To complete the card, die cut flowers and leaves in shades of blue and green were added to the oval, along with a few pearls.

Here's What I Used
Digital Sentiment Stamps: 'Big Wishes Sentiments'
Digital Papers: 'Starry Night' Paper Collection

Other: 7" x 7" Card Blank, White Card, Super Smooth Paper, PowerPoint; Printer, Floral ovals (Spellbinders Nestibilities), Medium Multi Rose Dies (Britannia), Scalloped & Plain Oval Dies (Tonic), Camellia - Complete Petals (Creative Expressions), Flower Nesting Dies (The Works), Assorted Leaves Dies (Die'sire), Teal & Blue Card, Pearls, Green Glitter Card, Gem, Star Punch (Tonic)

Whimsy Stamps - April Releases #1

Afternoon peeps ðŸ’œ

I can't believe how quickly 2018 is flying by, and today is April 1st.  O...M...G have I been asleep and missed January, February and March. Lol

Anyhoo, back to business --- today is the first day of Whimsy Stamps new digital stamp releases. There are also new clear stamps, stencils and dies, and they're all fabulous, you lucky bunch. So today I'm sharing one of the new digital paper collections called 'Floral Grass' and one of the new sentiment sets called 'Family Forever'.

I inserted my digital paper into PowerPoint and added my sentiment over the top, resizing it accordingly and printed it out.  I die cut a doily edged square and die cut a circle into the centre, and white funky foam was glued onto the back. The frame and paper was glued onto the card base so that sentiment could be seen in the bottom left of the aperture.

Using the Family Forever sentiment set I cropped it so that I could just use the tree. After resizing the tree I fussy cut it out leaving a white border around it. Gold glitter pen was used to colour the leaves, then when die it was added to the front of the card using more funky foam to raise it up inside the circle.

To complete the card a 3 gold glitter enamel dots were added to the top right corner.

Here's What I Used
Digital Sentiment Stamps: 'Family Forever'
Digital Papers: 'Floral Grass' Paper Collection

Other: 6" x 6" Card Blank, Strong White Card, Super Smooth Paper, PowerPoint; Printer, White Funky Foam Pads, Gold Glitter Pen (Sakura), Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, Doily Edged Square Die (Tattered lace), Double Stitched Circle (Crealies)

Our new challenge (#104) started on the 15th March, so why not come and join us. There a  fabulous $15 prize to win and the theme as always is #Anything Goes'. Here is the link for you, so come on what are you waiting for!
