Craft Consortium - Leather Bound #3

Hi everyone

For my project today I'm sharing a tag I made using lots of elements and papers from Craft Consortium's 'Leather Bound' & 'Vintage Emporium' pads, stamps and embellishments. I must admit I don't often create mixed media projects, so I was a little out of my comfort zone when I made this....but I did enjoy the freedom. The tag was featured on Hobbymaker TV, and I got a lovely shout out from the presenter Hayley West which was wonderful.

The papers and stamps worked brilliant on the tag, giving it lots of much texture without the added weight and bulk of the real thing. I did start out with a pared down version of this, but then decided to add gems and glitter. I have included both version. I hope you like them. :)

This collection and other collections are available from the Craft Consortium's website and good craft retailer's websites. You can also go direct to the Craft Consortium's website here and sign up for an update on any future product launches.

This Is What I Did
I covered the tag with paper 'Leather Bound' collection then stamped stains and texture over the top. Ink was applied around the edges along with some gold wax. Postcards were cut out of the 'Vintage Emporium' pad and glued onto across the tag. I die cut a doily with paper from the LB pad, inked it up, cut it in half and glued it onto the tag.

An ornate frame was die cut several times from kraft card and once from patterned paper; they were glued together. Part of the frame was added to the tag, the rest was cut off. A die cut paper flower was created using papers from the LB pad, an embellishment was glued in the centre and gold wax was applied all over it. I stamped out a sentiment, inked it up and added it to the top.

I continued to die cut leaves and embellishments using papers from both pads and glued them onto the tag. Punched out butterflies, gold glitter hearts, clock, wooden hearts and gold pearls were also added to the tag. This where I stopped on the first version of the tag.

On the second version I added gold coloured gems and lots of gold multi glitter. Which version do you like?
