Sugar Bowl Challenge 123 - April 2015

Good Morning!

Hello everyone, it time for the Sugar Bowl Challenge, so here's my Design Team card for you this month. The theme as always is Anything Goes.

For my card this month I decided to eek out of my comfort zone and make a boy's card. I chose this cute digi image called 'Puppy Dog Tails' by Dianne Duda to work with, and you can buy him from Funkykits here. He's so cute, but you can imagine him being a typical boy - trouble with a capital 'T'! I coloured him with my Copic Pens and added an exert from the 'Sugar and Spice' poem and teamed him up with a few die cut stars and dots.

http://www.funkykits.co.uk/catalog/
Here's What I Did
I used an 5" x 5" white card base and matted it with both blue and green card. I used CraftArtist2 to created my layout which I printed directly onto some colouring/blending card stock. The image, frame and text were then cut into a square, and coloured with Copic markers. I added foam tape to the back of the completed topper and attached it to my card base. To finish off I added some die cut stars and punched out dots.
Here's What I Used
Digi Stamp: 'Puppy Dog Tails' available from Funkykits
Paper/Cardstock (CS): White Card base, Blue & Green CS, Craftwork Cards Colouring CS Copics: Skin - E000, E00, E11, R20 / Hair - E15, E21 / T-Shirt & Cap - B000, B02, B05, YG00, YG03, YG06, Y09 / Eyes - B000 / Shorts - B05, B12, B23, B24 / Dog - / Frog & Snake - YG00, YG03, YG06, YG09, E15/ Plaster - E15, E21 / Ground -W0, W1
Dies: MFT Die-namics 'Blueprint 8'
Other: Serif CraftArtist2, Punch
So come on and join us in our challenge over at the Sugar Bowl - the theme is 'Anything Goes' so it's really easy and there's a great prize up for grabs. BUT REMEMBER TO ENTER THE CHALLENGE YOU MUST USE a Sugar Nellie stamp.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Sentiment As Focus

Hello and good morning everyone ---

I can't believe that it was only 2 weeks ago I was moaning about the lack of spring like weather, but I think it's finally sprung. Let's hope it's here to stay :)

So me dears it's onto my Sweet Stampin' Design Team card for you this week. Our theme is 'Sentiment As Focus' and don't forget you must include a stamped element on your card/project. I used a Woodware sentiment stamp and paper pieced it, I've never used one of these stamps before (apart from my girlie owl), but I definitely will again because I think it looks so dramatic and pretty. It was such an easy card to make too - 1 card base, 1 stamp, 2 pieces of plain card and 5 sheets of patterned paper. Cut, glue, stick - what could be easier!!!

Here's What I Did
I used a 7" x 7" cream card base. I matted and layered it with pale brown (taupe) and cream card and one of the sheets from my paper pad (the one with the elephant one it). The 'Just for U' and the smaller sentiment was stamped directly onto the paper.

I picked out 4  more patterned papers from the pad and I stamped the sentiment 'Just For U' onto each one and again onto some white scrap card, then everything was cut out. The patterned paper letters were glued straight onto the white card (this was cut out as a whole piece). The completed sentiment topper was then attached to the card base using foam tape along with a few complimentary coloured sequins.

Here's What I Used
Stamp: Woodware 'Huge Just for U'
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Trimcraft 'Party Animal' Paper Pad, Taupe CS, Cream CS
Other: Sequins, Foam Tape

So why not drop by the Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog and check out what my fab Design Team girlies have made to inspire you. So come on why not join in with the fun and enter your card/project into our 'Sentiment As Focus' challenge we'd love to see your entries.

The girl, book and die cut 'happy' and hearts were added both inside and outside of the frame. To finish off I added a few sequins and some white dots to her cheeks and book.

Happy Mother's Day (UK)

Good morning to you all.

I want to wish my mum and all the mum's out there a very

Happy Mother's Day

I thought I would share the card I made for my mum and then the beautiful flowers I received from my daughter yesterday by Interflora.

I'm actually writing this post on Saturday night ready for Sunday morning (15th) so my mum won't see her card; then when I open my card from my daughter I'll share that with you too. Unfortunately my daughter can't be with me today (so I'm spending Mother's Day totally on my own --- sob!!) as she works in London and it's too far for her to travel home just for one day - I'll miss her loads. But I'm sure we'll have a chat or something during the day.

Anyhow here's the card I've made for my mum (I hope she likes it) ----

How I Did It
The plant pot, patterned paper mat and insert were all created and cut out using my Silhouette machine. I added a fancy punched out panel to the top of the plant pot at the front and back, making made the one at the front much taller so I could add my flowers and leaves onto it.

Apart from the 3 felt roses all the flowers and leaves were die cut, then inked around the edges and glued onto the card along with a tag. To finish off I added a few die cut hearts and a sprinkling of sequins to both the front, and on the inside.

What I Used
Cardstock (CS): Trimcraft 'What A Hoot' Paper Pad, Green, Brown, Pink, White, Blue, Cream CS, Glitter CS
Dies: MFT 'Blueprint '3 and 14', Spellbinders 'Rose Creation', Xcut 'Glorious Gerber' and 'Petal Posy', MFT 'Gerber Daisy', Memory Box 'Cross Stitched Hearts',  Tattered Lace 'Embellishments', Creative Expressions 'Camellia Complete Petals', Magazine Freebie 'Tag',
Other: Silhouette Machine, Martha Stewart Punch, Distressing Inks, Sequins, Gems, Felt Roses, CraftArtist 2

My Flowers
And here are the flowers my gorgeous girl sent me for Mummy's Day - they're filled with my favourites - Freesias, Roses and Lavender. They smell divine!!!

My Card

(when I open it!)

I hope you all have a fabulous day!!!

Sweet Stampin' Design Team - Green

Hello and good morning everyone ---

Here in the UK it's starting to look a lot like spring ---- not!! Actually it's typical British weather - it changes from day to day which makes it really hard to fine something suitable to wear. LOL!

Anyway, enough of my complaining its onto my Sweet Stampin' Design Team card for you this week. Our theme is' 'Green' in honour of St Patrick's Day - your card must contain green and have a stamped element on it.

I made this panorama card for my hubbie's birthday just before Christmas, and as it included quite a lot of green so it seemed an ideal opportunity to share it with you. I love making these cards as the 3D effect really brings them to life, however they're a nightmare to photograph.

Here's What I Did
The panorama layers, 'Happy Birthday' sentiment, hills, clouds and floral border were all cut from dies. To make life a little easier I cut the fab man in the hammock (centre layer) using my Silhouette machine - however this did take some working out but thankfully it worked out beautifully (did a little bit of hand cutting in some area). The man, hammock and trees were then coloured with Copic markers and then die cut to fit the panorama shell. When fully assembled the 6" x 6" panorama contains 2 inner layers, 2 sides, frame and a front and back panel.

Here's What I Used
Digi Stamp: Sassy Cheryl 'Fathers Day Snooze'
Cardstock (CS): Sheena Douglas Stamping CS, Green, Blue , Brown CS, First Edition 'Boho Chic' CS
Copics: E000, E000, E00, E11 / Hair - C3, C5, C7 / Shirt - Y000, Y00, Y02, Y17 / Shorts - B000, B00, B05, B18, B23 / Grass - G00, G02,G03, G07 / Hammock Stripes - G00, G02,G03, G07, R20, R22, R27 / Tree - E31, E33, E35, E59
Dies: Tattered Lace 'Panorama' Die and 'Square' Collection, 'Happy Birthday' Washing Line, Autumn Edge', Spellbinders Borderabilities 'Curved Border One', Joy! 'Clouds'
Other: Distressing Ink 'Tumbled Glass and '

So why not drop by the Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog and check out what my fab Design Team girlies have made to inspire you. So come on why not join in with the fun and enter your card/project into our 'Green' challenge we'd love to see your entries.

Sugar Nellie Design Team Card - Let Them Eat Cake

Good morning sugar fans!

Wow, another has Wednesday and spring has definitely disappeared. We had snow yesterday and today what the heck is going on!!!

So for my Sugar Nellie Design Team card I thought I would make a cheery but simple card to cheer you all up. I decided to use 2 of my favourite cardmaking colours - lilac and lemon. This sweet little Sugar Nellie stamp is called 'Let Them Eat Cake 'and she's available to buy from Funkykits (the home of Sugar Nellie). I used my Copic pens to colour her in with and then teamed her up with a few of my new dies and a sprinkling of sequins. Erm, I don't think I went too over the top with the sequins --- or maybe I have!! Lol, I'm such a magpie, I just can't resist a bit of sparkle. :)

Here's What I Did
I started with a 5" x 7" white card base which I covered with LOTV patterned paper. I stamped my image onto Neenah cardstock and used Copic markers to colour it in with; this was then cut to size. I die cut the word 'happy' in white card and a speech bubble curve in lilac card on which I stamped the rest of the sentiment. The bubble was then glued directly onto my white topper and added to my card base using foam tape. To finish off I added some sequins and a touch of glitter.
Here's What I Used

Stamp: 'Let Them Eat Cake'' available from Funkykits, Taylored Expressions 'Think Happy Thoughts'
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Neenah CS, LOTV 'Promises', Lilac CS
Copics: Skin - E000, E00, R30 / Hair - YR0000, YR000, YR00, YR02, E13, E99 / Cake - YR00, YR02, E13, Y00, Y02, BV00, BV02 / Dress, Shoes & Hairband - BV000, BV00, BV02, BV04 / Wings - Y000, Y00, Y02, BV00, BV02 / Ground - W0, W01, W03
