Whimsy Inspiration - Week 6

Afternoon everyone ðŸ’œ

Well by the time you read this post I will be winging my way to a relaxing holiday in the sun. I'm off to Majorca for a week of sun and relaxation. Yay! Mind you my hubbie and I didn't realise that it was Whit week here in the UK, and the kiddiewinks are off school all week. If we had realised we most definitely wouldn't have been going quite yet. That's the trouble when you have grown up kiddiewinks you have no idea when the school holidays are. But hey ho, it's all booked now and we're enroute.

Anyhoo back to biz --- for my Whimsy card for this week I've used a fabulous stamp by Marina Fedotova; it's deeply etched rubber mounted on cling cushion foam and it's available from the Whimsy Store. The stamp is from the set called 'Norbert and Fiona Playtime', but on this occasion I've only used Norbert the Dragon.  I stamped everything onto grey pastel paper which added a little bit of texture and then used my new Caran D'Ache Luminance Pencils to add all the detail. I hope you like it. x

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
First I die cut a rectangle from grey paper designed for pastel pencil and stamped the dragon, stars and sentiment. I coloured every element with coloured pencils.

The completed picture was added to the front of a black 5" x 7" side fold card blank. To finish the card I added gold glitter pen to the stars.

Here's What I Used
Rubber Stamp: Norbert and Fiona Playtime

Other:  5" x 7" Black Card Blank, Grey Pastel Card, Double Pierced Rectangle Dies (Creative Expressions), Caran D'Ache Luminance Pencils, Gold Glitter Pen

Whimsy Inspiration - Week 5

Afternoon everyone ðŸ’œ

Today I'm sharing quite a simple card as I wanted the stamp to shine. I was very brave and added a few extra elements which I've drawn myself,  such as the background, the pile of books, trees and castle....so please be kind. :)

The stamp is by Marina Fedotova, and it's called 'Norbert and Fiona Storytime' that was why I drew a pile of books they're sitting on. I just imagined him telling her tales of his adventures and conquests. I think I've been watching too many episodes of Merlin. Lol

The stamp is a deeply etched rubber mounted on cling cushion foam and it's available from the Whimsy Store. I coloured everything using my Copic pens, and added Colour Cloud ink for the sky using a cloud temple. I hope you like it. x

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
I stamped the image onto Neenah cardstock and started by drawing the pile of books they're sitting on, then added the background with the hills, trees and finally the castle. I covered up Norbert's head (poor thing!) and added the sky using Colour Cloud ink and a cloud template. When everything was dry I removed the mask and coloured the whole scene in using Copic pens.

The completed picture was matted onto a 5" x 7" card blank which I'd covered with black card. To finish the card I added a 5 tiny flower gems on each side, top and bottom.

Here's What I Used
Rubber Stamp: Norbert and Fiona Storytime

Other: 5" X 7" Card Blank, Black Card, Neenah Card, Copic Pens,  Crystal Glitter, Flower Gems, Colour Cloud Ink (Cosmic Shimmer - Summer Sky), Cloud Template (MFT), Gold Glitter Pen

Whimsy Inspiration - May Week 4

Afternoon everyone ðŸ’œ

Today I'm sharing one of my favourite cards so far (ooo am I allowed to have favourites...lol) using one of the cutest rubber stamps ever. I have to say I have little weak spot for giraffes; I just think they're so sweet and elegant. The stamp is by Krista Heij-Barber, and it's deeply etched rubber mounted on cling cushion foam and it's available from the Whimsy Store.

The stamp is called 'Giraffe Baby Love' and I coloured it using my Copic pens, and added Colour Cloud ink for the sky. I hope you like it. x

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
First I die cut a scalloped white card blank using a large scalloped circle die. I stamped the image directly onto colouring cardstock and die cut it into a circle. The images was stamped again onto masking paper but I also drew a semi circle around their feet to represent the ground - I cut this all out. I covered up the giraffes and the ground, which would later be the grass area and added my sky using Colour Cloud ink and a cloud template. When everything was dry I removed the mask and coloured the scene in using Copic pens.

The completed picture was matted onto a die cut black and orange circle and added to the card blank using foam pads.  To finish the card I added a little glitter to the flowers.

Here's What I Used
Rubber Stamp: Giraffe Baby Love

Other: Strong White Card, Orange Card, Black Card, Neenah Card, Large Scalloped Circle (Spellbinders), XXL Stitched Circle Dies (Crealies), Circle Dies (Tattered Lace), Copic Pens,  Crystal Glitter, Foam Pads, Colour Cloud Ink (Cosmic Shimmer - Summer Sky), Cloud Template (MFT)

Our new challenge (#106 started on the 15th May, so why not come and join us. There a  fabulous $15 prize to win and the theme as always is #Anything Goes'. Here is the link for you, so come on what are you waiting for!

Whimsy Stamps Inspiration - May Week 3

Hi everyone ðŸ’œ

I'd love to share more Whimsy Stamps magic with you, and today I'm highlighting this little elephant  by Crissy Armstrong, and one of our brand new digital banner sets. Isn't it the most adorable little ellie flump you've seen, I love how he's watering his beautiful flower.

The digi stamp is called 'Jelly Bean's Flower' which I coloured using my Ipad Pro, pencil and Procreate. I used an orange patterned paper and card for the mat to compliment the flower and butterfly in the image. I also have to admit to being inspired by the beautiful sunny weather we've been having here in the UK - hence the orange and yellow colour palette. To finish off my card I used one of the brand new word banners and re-coloured it digitally to tie in with my colour scheme. I hope you like it, and are enjoying the fabulous weather whereever you are x

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
I covered the front of a 7" x 7" scalloped square card with pretty patterned paper from my own stash. The image was hand coloured digitally using an Ipad Pro, Apple pencil and the Procreate App.

The finished hand coloured the topper was printed out, and die cut into a square with rounded corners then matted onto an orange fancy edged die cut square. The topper was then attached to the card front using foam pads. I used one of Whimsy's new digital banners that comes in the Everyday Banner Set which are normally black with white text, but on this occasion I recolored it to compliment my card. To complete the card I added 3 bronze coloured gems.

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp: Jelly Bean's Flower
Digital Sentiment Stamps: Everyday Banner Sentiments

Other: 7" x 7" Scalloped Blank, Ipad Pro, Apple Pencil, Procreate App, Square Rounded Corner Dies (Tattered Lace), Square Doily Dies (Tattered Lace), Crystal Glitter, PowerPoint; Printer, Blank Canvas Paper Pad (Trimcraft), Orange Card, Gems

Whimsy Stamps - May Release #2

Hi everyone ðŸ’œ

As promised I'm back today with another new release from Whimsy Stamps. This little beauty is a digital stamp called 'Unicorn Daydreams' which I coloured using watercolours and pencils. To enhance this beautiful lady I added a pretty sentiment from a set launched last month and one of the Envelope Edger dies also from Whimsy Stamps (there are 4 dies in the set so they're fabulous value).  I think she's totally magical --- I hope you agree. x

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
The front of a 5" x 7" top fold card blank was covered with pretty patterned paper from my own stash. The unicorn and sentiment was printed directly onto watercolour card and trimmed down to fit the width of the card blank. The bottom edge of the watercolour card was cut using the Envelope Edger die to create a pretty scalloped bottom.

The unicorn image was coloured with Zig Clean Color pens, Gamsai Tabi paints and a few coloured pencils. When the image was finished tiny hearts were stamped around the unicorn with pink ink. Crystal glitter was added to some of the hearts and the unicorn's horn, and glitter pen was added around the unicorn's body to give it a little shimmer. The completed panel was added to the top section of the card front.

To complete the card silver glitter enamel dots were attached to the bottom right of the card front.

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp: Unicorn Daydreams
Digital Sentiment Stamps: 'Birthday Wishes'
Whimsy Die: Envelope Edgers

Other: 5" x 7" Top Fold Card Blank, Zig Clean Color Pens, Gamsai Tabi, Spectrum Noir Pencils. Watercolour Card, Garden Treasures Paper Pad (Hunkydory), Silver Glitter Enamel Dots, Picked Raspberry Oxide Ink, Clear Overlay Glitter Pen (Spectrum Noir), Crystal Glitter, PowerPoint; Printer, Merry Kisses Stamp (Neat & Tangled),

Whimsy Stamps - May Release #1

Afternoon peeps ðŸ’œ

Well I'm back from my little trip away for my birthday. My lovely hubbie took me to Longleat Safari Park for a few days - we stayed in a very quaint...or dare I say quirky hotel in the grounds. Thankfully we got to see most things on our first day, as our second and last day was awful as it rained non stop all day. We did get to see lots of weird and wonderful animals though, which made me giggle and smile.

Anyhoo, back to my card of the day. I chose this little guy to show you today, isn't he the cutest. He's one of the new digital release stamps from Whimsy Stamps called 'Penguin Dr Cute'. I've also used one of the papers from a new collection called 'Going Dotty and a sentiment from a another new release called 'Everyday Banners'. All the products used are digital.

All the links to the specific Whimsy products can be found below and the link to the general store is here.

Here's What I Did
I printed out a sheet of the patterned paper and entirely covered the front of a 6" x 4" card blank. Next I resized the penguin and printed it straight onto some colouring card stock and coloured it with Copic pens. When the image was finished I trimmed it down to fit the card front, then added a strip of aqua coloured card to the right side of it before attaching them both to the card front.

Using the 'Everyday Banner' sentiments I cropped the sheet down so that all that remained was the 'get well soon' banner, this was printed out onto thick white card. The banner was cut out and added to the card front using foam pads.

To complete the card I added enamel dots in shades of blue and aqua.

Here's What I Used
Digital Stamp: Penguin Dr Cute
Digital Sentiment Stamps: 'Everyday Banners'
Digital Papers: 'Going Dotty' Paper Collection

Other: 6" x 4" Card Blank, Copic Pens, Neenah Colouring Card, Aqua Card, PowerPoint; Printer, Foam Pads, Enamel Dots

Our new challenge (#105) started on the 15th April, so why not come and join us. There a  fabulous $15 prize to win and the theme as always is #Anything Goes'. Here is the link for you, so come on what are you waiting for!
