Inky Chicks Challenge - Mrs Lovett

Good evening everyone!

So on this dark Tuesday evening, I hope you're managing ok with all this awful UK weather at the mo - it's just wet, windy and cold. Why not keep snuggled up at home and craft away.  To warm you up I'm here to share my Inky Chicks Design Team card with you, I've used an image from our sponsor this week Alicia Bel. I was lucking enough to have a pick of images from her amazing library of characters. The image I decided on is Mrs Lovett from Sweeny Todd. The reason for my choice is that it reminds me so much of my daughter when she worked at the London Dungeons as an actress - and one of the characters she regularly played was Mrs Lovett.  I've included a fab photo of her in full costume at the bottom holding a pie. Lol x

So here she is in all her evilness with some delicious finger pies - Mrs Lovett not my daughter...lol.  So the theme this week is --- Anything Goes.

Here's What I did
I used an A5 black card base which I matted and layered complimentary grey patterned card stock. I die cut Mrs Lovett into an oval and coloured her with Copic markers, to add atmosphere I used black pan pastel around her. The finished image was then matted onto a fancy die cut oval and added to my card base over the top of the punched out border.  To finish I added a die cut sentiment, stars and a few sparkly red dots.

Here's everything I used:
Digi Stamp: Alicia Bel 'Mrs Lovett' - you can buy her from here
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Black CS, Hobbycraft 'Monochrome' Paper Pad, Craftwork Cards Digital Super Smooth CS
Copics: Skin - E0000, E000, E00, R20 / Dress - R000, R02, R20, R14, R27, R29, R38 / Hair - C0, C1, C2, C3 ,C5, C7, 100 / Boots - C0, C2, C5 / Pies & Plate - Y000, Y02, Y17, Y38
Punch:  Martha Steward Border Punch, Tonic Star Punch
Dies: Spellbinders Grand Decorative Ovals One, MFT Die-namics 'Blueprint 3'
Other: Black Pan Pastel, Docraft Gems, CraftArtist 2

So why not drop by the Inky Chicks Challenge blog, and check out what my fab Design Team girlies have made with their Alicia Bel characters as well. So come on, why not join in with the fun and enter your card/project into our 'Anything Goes' challenge this week.

This week's sponsor and prize is from Alicia Bel

I look forward to seeing what you create.

Sweet Stampin' - Girly But NO Pink

Hello and good morning everyone ---

Here in the UK we've been battling some awful stormy weather - high winds etc, so I hope you're all safe and still have a roof on house.

Well I don't know about you, but everything is now back to normal - Christmas has come and gone. So now I'm dreaming of spring days and fresh flowers.

Anyhoo it's Sweet Stampin' time!!  Our theme this week is' Girly But NO Pink'. So what better time to use one of my Prima stamps - this gorgeous girl is a stamp and die combo set....even her little dog. Everything was stamped, die cut and layered up, with spring in mind I tried to use uplifting colours. I hope you like it. x

Here's What I did
I used an A5 card base and matted it with yellow starry patterned paper. I added die cut background hills from patterned papers and vellum. I stamped and die cut the Prima girl and her dog. In the set her dress, shoes and hair have their own stamps and dies, so I stamped her dress and shoes onto more patterned  papers and some plain cardstock then die cut them out. Her hair was stamped and die cut from colouring card stock which I coloured using my Copic pens. I dressed my doll and added her and little dog onto my card base.  To finish off I added ribbon to her dress, die cut clouds, sequins and a sentiment.

Here's everything I used:
Stamp: Prima Doll Stamp & Die Set #910358
Paper/Cardstock (CS):  LOTV (Lilli Of the Valley) ' Petal Fresh' and 'Bonnets & Bowties', Neenah CS, Papermania Vellum and Patterned Paper (old stock)
Copics: Skin - E000, E00, E11, E13 / Hair - YR0000, YR000, YR00, E13, E18, E99
Dies: Spellbinder 'Curved Border One', Joy! 'Clouds', Sizzix Framelits & Stamps 'Hello'
Other: Ribbon, Gems, Sequins, Silver Thread

So why not drop by the Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog and check out what my fab Design Team girlies have made to inspire you. So come on why not join in with the fun and enter your card/project into our 'Girly But NO Pink' challenge we'd love to see your entries. REMEMBER you must include a stamped element on your card!  Have fun and good luck.

Sugar Nellie - Shaken Not Kissed

Happy New Year Sugar Fans!

Wow, 2014 is all done and dusted., so here's to a fabulous and creative 2015. Did you make any New Year Resolutions? I didn't bother as I never tend to keep them but I do plan to be more creative with my own stuff. I'm going to try and push myself to draw and colour more. My DH bought me a super duper graphic (drawing tablet) so I can draw more things digitally - well that's the theory anyway! At the mo I can't even draw a circle successfully on screen yet - mmm, I can definitely see a steep learning curve in my future. However I love a challenge, and thankfully I 'm a Taurean and immensely stubborn, so I'll stick with it until I suss it out. Lol x

Anyhoo it's onto my 1st card of 2015 so I thought I would use an oldie but a goodie. I used this super cute image from Diane Duda which I coloured with Derwent Inktense Pencils, which my DH also bought me for Christmas (I know I'm a very lucky girl - tbf I think he does it so I wouldn't interrupt his sport on TV). This was my 1st attempt with the pencils and a bit of an experiment, but I was quite happy with the end result so I thought I would make her into a card.

The rubber stamp is called 'Shaken Not Kissed' and it's available from Funkykits and at the mo, she's on sale for £2 - so grab her quick! You can find it here.

Here's What I Did
I used a 5" x 5" white card base on which I matted and layered patterned cardstock (a lovely Christmas present from my friend Ali). I added a strip of more pattered paper along with a pretty die cut border.

I stamped my image onto watercolour cardstock and using my Inktense pencils I coloured her in. They dry permanent so you have to work fairly quickly, they will take a little practice but I'm happy with my first attempt. The finished picture was die cut and mounted onto a die cut scalloped rectangle, the finished topper was then added to my card base. To finish off I added a die cut flower, leaves, hearts and a stamped and die cut sentiment on which I added silver leaf to the lettering.
Here's What I Used
Rubber Stamp: 'Shaken Not Kissed' by Diane Duda - available from Funkykits
Inktense Pencils: Skin - Baked Earth, Carmine Pink, Saddle Brown / Hair - Amber, Golden Yellow, Baked Earth / Dress - Fuchsia, Thistle, Charcoal Grey / Tights - Fuchsia, Golden Yellow, Cadmium Yellow, Charcoal Grey / Crown - Golden Yellow, Cadmium Yellow / Shoes & Frog - Spring Onion, Charcoal Grey / Background - Charcoal Grey
Paper/Cardstock (CS): 5"x5" Base, Watercolour Card, Lilac Papermania CS, LOTV 'Promises' and My Minds Eye 'Charm' Paper Pads
Dies: MFT Dia-namics 'Flower and Leaf Trio' and 'Blueprint 8', Tonic 'Layering Rectangles', Tattered Lace 'Mini Dies', Sizzix Banner 2

Sweet Stampin' - Anything Goes

Good morning to you all.

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and had great fun with family and friends. My daughter managed to make it home for Christmas Day - thanks to my hubbie driving all the way to London and back to collect her. The only sad thing is that we had to drive her back again on Boxing Day due to work commitments. But we got to spend some quality time with her, which is the most important thing.

Anyway back to business! It's that time again ---- it's Sweet Stampin' day!!  Our theme this week is 'Anything Goes'. So I thought I would share the Christmas card I made for my hubbie. It's fun and cute - I gave the reindeer a shiny nose and goggley eyes - they're a little wonky so he looks a little merry. Lol!

Here's What I did
I used a 7" x 7" white base card on which I matted some patterned paper and card.  I die cut 4 curved shapes from white card using a border die so that they would look like snowy slopes.  All the edges of the cut pieces were coloured with a blue Copic pen, these were then layered up onto a blue background to create a snowy scene. I stamped the reindeer 3 times, coloured him with Copic pens, cut out the necessary sections and then layered them up. I added the reindeer, coloured in Robin and log to the background. The finished picture was matted onto some Kraft and red card stock and added to the card base. To finish off I added die cut stars to the sky, added gogglely eyes, glossy accent to the reindeer's nose and white pen to the scarf and hat.

Here's everything I used:
Stamp: 'Santa's Reindeer'- By HobbyArt
Paper/Cardstock (CS):  Desert Storm Neenah CS, Red, White & Blue Plain CS, Kraft CS,  First Edition 'Nordic Christmas' Paper Pad
Copics: Reindeer & Robin - E33, E35, E37 / Nose, Scarf, Hat, Leg Warmers, Robin's Breast - R14, R27, R59 / Snow - B0000, B000
Dies: Spellbinder 'Curved Border One', Cuttlebug 'Snowflakes'
Other: Sharpie White Pen, Glossy Accent

It's Thursday --- and here in the UK it's Christmas Day. Yay!!! I hope you've received lots of lovely pressies and have a wonderful day with family and friends.

The completed topper was then matted and layered and added to my 5" x5" card base.
Here's What I Used

The pre-coloured topper was matted and layered onto plain cardstock and added to my card base. To finish off I added a few glitter gel dots and a little glitter.

Sweet Stampin' DT - Oh Christmas Tree

Good morning to you all.

Well, it's that time again ---- it's Sweet Stampin' day!!

Our theme this week is 'Oh Christmas Tree'. This so reminds me of the time my daughter was in her infant school Christmas play, which was aptly called 'Oh Christmas Tree'.  At the time I used to help out in the school few days a week - and on this occasion I helped with the costumes, face painting and scenery. I just being involved especially when there was something creative and festive going on and I loved every single minute of it. I can remember feeling so proud of all the little ones who took part including my daughter.  It's hard to believe now, that many of them are successful adults and parents with little ones of their own.  How time flies!!! Well now have the Christmas carol 'Oh Christmas Tee' firmly stuck in my head I can't stop singing it, lol.

Anyhoo, he's my Design Team card for you.  It's quite a CAS one really, with a stamped image and a few die cut elements. It was so quick to make, which is just perfect for this time of the year.

Here's What I did
I used a 5" x 5" white base card on which I matted some patterned paper. Then I die cut a black stitched square and 4 white plain squares. One of the white squares was cut again using a village scene die, the other 3 squares were also die cut using a curved border die so that they would look like snowy slopes.  All the edges of the cut pieces were coloured with a blue Copic pen and glittered, these were then layered up to create a snowy scene. The finished picture was matted onto some red card and added to the card base. Finally I added my stamped and embossed Christmas tree to the picture using some foam tape for dimension, along with a red gems for a bit of glitz.

Here's everything I used:
Stamp: 'Snowy Christmas' - Butterfly Kisses By HobbyArt
Paper/Cardstock (CS): Black and Red CS, Lawn Fawn 'Peace, Joy, Love' Paper Pad.
Dies: Spellbinder 'Curved Border One', XCut '7 Piece Village - Build a Scene'
Other: Embossing Powder, Glitter, Gems, Copic Pen B0000, Sharpie White Pen, Holographic Embossing Powder, Versamark Ink

Sugar Nellie Design Team Card

Good morning sugar fans!

Wow, another has Thursday has gone by and we're swiftly heading towards Christmas. Have you got your decorations up yet?  Hopefully mine will be going up this weekend - I really need to see some Christmas glitz.

Anyhoo onto my card - for this week  I decided to use one of the lovely new pre-coloured Sugar Nellie toppers made by Hobby House. The pack contains 3 sheets with 6 different Christmas toppers on each - they're available to buy from Funkykits. They're great for this time of the year especially if you need to make a quick Christmas card or some help with your batch card making.  The cardstock is a really good quality and can be heat embossed, inked or coloured up.
If you prefer to colour your own images - there is a  digital version of this image and it can be found here.

Here's What I Did
I used a 5" x 5" white card base on which I matted and layered both plain and patterned cardstock. On top of the patterned paper I attached punched out card strips in green and red card. Then I sprinkled some Frantage around the main image on the topper and heat embossed it, when it cooled I matted this onto a die cut scalloped circle which I raised up on foam tape, and added to my card base. To finish off I added a diecut snowflake, some gems and a little glitter.
Here's What I Used
Stamp: Sugar Nellie Topper sheets available from  Funkykits
Paper/Cardstock (CS): 5"x5" Base, Red and Green CS, Lawn Fawn 'Peace, Joy, Love' Paper Pad
Dies: Spellbinder Grand Scallop Circle, MFT Dia-namics Snowflakes

Sugar Nellie - New ADU Rubber Stamp Launch

Good morning everyone.

I'm here today to show off one of the new rubber stamps from All Dress Up.  Sugar Nellie has partnered with ADU for this launch - the new stamps are available from the Funkykits online shop.

I used this little cutie - isn't she gorgeous!! She's available in grey rubber and she stamps beautifully and a dream to colour. I coloured her with Copic markers and added a little glitter.

Here's What I Did
I started with a 7" x 7" white card as my base.  I then die cut a rectangle in the centre of my patterned cardstock, and then another slightly smaller rectangle in my plain card stock. I layered up both pieces of cardstock sandwiching the die cut 'Lots Of Love' banner between them.  I stamped my image and coloured it with Copic pens, when it was finished I attached the cardstock frame on top using foam tape to raise it slightly. Everything was then attached to my card base and to finish off I added die cut flowers, pearls and a touch of glitter.

Here's What I Used
Stamp: 'Love My Kitty' rubber stamp available from Funkykits
Paper/Cardstock (CS): 7" x 7" Card Base, Yellow CS, Neenah CS, Dovecraft 'Garden Party'
Copics: Skin - E000, E000, E11, R20 / Hair & Cat - C1, C2, C3, C5, C7 / Shadow:  B000 / Clothes, Hat, Cat's Ribbon & Flowers - R000, R00, R20, R22 / Grass & Leaves: YG11, YG17, YG23 / Yellow Flower: Y00, Y15 / Dots : Y00, R20
