Afternoon Everyone
This week I've teamed up with the DT at Amanda Jayne Designs to showcase a brand new Halloween set called Witch On Broom & Scene Builder. Lisa and I are each sharing a card today and tomorrow (Sunday) using the same sets to show how differently they can be used. I hope you like them. x
For my card today I have created a framed arched window that peeks out at the witch on her broom, with a brightly coloured sky. I also used some of the extras to enhance my card.
FYI - Amanda has lots of lovely digi stamp, papers and sentiments in her Etsy shop, along with some pre-coloured images and papers. Here is the link to the
Amanda Jayne Designs Etsy Store to check out all the digi stamps
and papers.
Here's What I Did
I die cut an arch window aperture into the front of a 5" x 7" card front blank. Using the same die and a slightly smaller one, I die cut a thin frame from the same black card - I did this 4 times and glued them together.
A piece of watercolour card was trimmed down slightly smaller than the 5" x 7" card blank, to create a panel. I applied and blended different coloured distress inks onto the panel, going from yellow at the bottom to purple at the top (see the list below). Using black distress ink and a couple of stencils I added some clouds to create the sky, then splashed white chalk paint all over it. When the panel was dry I glued it to the front of the card behind the aperture.
The witch/broom, pumpkins and grave stones were imported into my software, then resized to suit my project. The images was printed onto watercolour card, coloured with distress re-inkers and fussy cut out.
Next I die cut a circle from white card and applied a little yellow and orange ink to create a moon, this was glued onto the sky. The witch with her broom was glued over the moon.
Using the small arch die I cut another shape from the same black card, then die cut it again with a hill border die. This was glued inside the aperture as a little hill, and the die cut word 'Boo' coloured with inks, was added alongside a few coloured pumpkins and gravestones. To complete the card, I added a little sparkle to the witch, a few white dots and stars.
