Hi Everyone
Sorry I've been absent for a few month, but I was poorly after having a heart procedure done at my local hospital. Thankfully I'm now on the mend now and to celebrate this and get me back into crafting I'm sharing one of my latest cards, using fabulous digi stamps and papers from Amanda Jane Designs (AJD). For my card today I chose to make a Halloween card using the 'Spooktacular Boy' digi stamp which is part of a Halloween bundle. I coloured the stamp with distress inks and reinkers. I've shared my process just after the photos. I hope you like it. x
Don't forget that Amanda has a monthly challenge in her Facebook group each month. This month (August), the them is 'Anything Goes'. If you wish to partake you need to join her facebook group, then use either one or more of AJD's papers or one of her digi stamps etc to create your project. You can win lovely digi stamps as a prize (see link at the bottom of the page), so why not have a go.
Amanda has lots of lovely digi stamp, papers and sentiments in her Etsy shop, along with some pre-coloured images and papers. Here is the link to the
Amanda Jayne Designs Etsy Store to check out all the digi stamps
and papers.
Here's What I Did
I imported the boy and his pumpkin into my software and resized it to fit my project. The image was printed onto watercolour cardstock and die cut into a rectangle. I drew a horizontal line across the bottom of the scene to ground the boy, and hand stamped a few grasses to finish it off. The image was again printed out onto masking paper which was cut out and placed over the one of the watercolour card.
I added several different layers of distress ink onto the card starting from the bottom and moving upwards. Clouds were added using a stencil and black distress ink, this time moving downwards. When the ink was dry I hand stamped some trees on either side to create a scene. The mask was removed and I cut out the boy's legs and the tree stump and and a strip of the masking paper to cover these areas. Black distress ink was applied to the bottom of the card, to create the ground. When everything was dry the masks were removed. The boy, pumpkin and stump were all coloured with distress reinkers and finished off with a few pencils.
The completed scene was attached to a slightly larger black die cut rectangle, then onto a black 5" x 7" top fold card blank. To finish off the card I added the letters 'B-O-O' in black card, these were cut out using my Silhouette cutting machine - the letter were cut out 3 times and stacked up.
